Light looks good. The only draw back is the glass is a little too translucent. I put CFL bulbs in and you can see them through the glass, which I did not like. It looks fine with clear incandesent bulbs.

The lamp's screw thread connections are poorly manufactured and the lamp stands crooked. Also, the light shades were dinged and deformed during delivery. Delivery damages aside, I'm very disappointed with the overall poor quality of this product.

An oldie-but-goodie lamp concept that I remember fondly from the 1950s. The cool retro look works in my living room for reading, needlework and ambient lighting. It works just as well in my office, where I have one "bullet" pointed at the computer, one at the desk and one straight up. The brushed steel has a quality look and the swivel heads work smoothly so far and stay where you put them, unlike some much fancier and more expensive task lights where the arms collapse under the weight of the shade (I'm talking about you, Tolomeo). These are simple, practical, versatile lighting tools that, to my mind, are worth more than the price.

I looked at nearly every tree lamp on Amazon and chose this one based on the relatively high reviews. The one prior review about the poor packaging gave me pause, but I figured it was a fluke. It was not. The box arrived falling apart, the stryfoam inside was crumbling, taped together, and supplemented with styrofoam peanuts. One of the three lamps was broken completely off the pole. Even if it were not broken, I would not have liked this lamp. The shades are thin and cheap looking and appear to be plastic, not metal. I do give five starts to Amazon for their excellent return policies they refunded my money right away and told me to dispose of the broken lamp (rather than having to send it back).

Only had this a few weeks, but it is a much nicer fixture than the typical high pressure sodium yard light. Hopefully it will last more than a couple of years, which has been the failure rate for the yard lights I have been using. But, being a commercial fixture it costs about twice as much as a typical yard light.

The fixture is completely sealed which should keep the bugs out. Lighting coverage and spread is about the same as the typical yard light. I have it mounted just below the second floor roof overhang and it lights the 85-90 foot wide yard as well as the yard lights did, although I haven't taken the light meter out and actually done a comparison.

The photo-electric cell turns the light on a little earlier in the evening and off a little later in morning than I prefer. Nothing in the instructions about an adjustment. Not a major problem, just increases the operating time a little.

I an very satisfied with the looks and quality of the fixture. Time will tell if the life span of the ballast was worth the extra dollars. The ballast in the yard lights always failed well before the life span of the HPS bulb.

My 50 year old house, needs a lot of maintenance. But when I needed a lamp and went to the local Big Box, I couldn't find anything I liked, and didn't want to spend $100.00 and settle.

I wanted a large single bulb with frosted glass in black. I wanted to put in a floresent bulb, but didn't want to see it, black to match the old pole.

Gotta love Amazon and the iPad. Looked for a long time at the huge selection and saved a few dollars. It was as advertised and looks great. It took more time to open package than install.

This was very easy to install (my second ceiling fan) if you are replacing an existing fan. It took me more like 30 minutes though (not 5), but I double-check everything I do. The motor is a little louder than I would like but for the price you can't beat it. No wobbling or strange movements whatsoever.

Edited 6/02/10: Motor loudness was cured shortly after I wrote first review...not related to fan and problem soft. Fan is so quiet now so I changed my rating to 5 stars.

First off, let me just say that once installed this fan is very nice looking, quiet, and I had no issue with it not being bright enough (I read this was a problem in reviews outside of Amazon). I don't regret my purchase at all. Unfortunately, the installation was a nightmare. I installed two fans this weekend. Both were Hunter, one was a "Five Minute" version and one was not. The only difference was that the "Five Minute" version has blades that snap on whereas the other had blades that screwed on. Start to finish, this fan took two hours and 21 minutes to install. Why? Because the screws Hunter provides are brass and more decorative than functional for key steps like hanging the bracket on the ceiling where you are supposed to screw three inch screws into a 2X4. Good luck. Both my fans had these same screws. I followed the directions and pre-drilled with the correct size drill bit. I was able to get less than 1/3 of the way screwed in before the entire top of the screw was completely stripped out.

I tried using a drill. It stripped out.

I tried using a flat head screwdriver (it is the kind of screw that allows you to use either screwdriver). It stripped out.

It is pretty bad when I'm screwing in a screw with a flat head screwdriver and in a matter of seconds have sliced the top off the screw. I'm a girl and nowhere near that strong. I attached a picture of one of the screws. All four looked like this. Lucky for me, I had some nice quality three inch wood screws in my garage and was able to use those. I also had a lot of issues with places where the threading on the fan was off and putting small screws in was next to impossible because they too were the cheap brass and stripped out within seconds if I put any force behind them.

Aside from the really cheap hardware and the issues that caused, the fan is very nice and is a huge upgrade from the horrible, noisy one we had before.

We just put this fan up on Saturday and it looks Great and also it is Very,Very Quiet! I would like to inform you though that it does take longer than 5 minutes to install. And it goes a lot faster if you have an extra person to assist. I also want to give you a heads up that the blades are not solid black, they are mixed with a very dark cherry or brown & black the other side is more cherry. I have a black dining room table with a dark cherry top that this fan was going over so I wanted black blades but once the fan was up the blades (picked the black/cherry sides) look black so I still ended up loving the look of the fan. As a preface, I have installed many ceiling fans over the years. This fan has some innovative design, but is of average quality overall. For the price, I certainly recommend it.

Some of the features of Hunter fans, do save steps and time. However, this 5 Minute Fan claim is nothing but hype. Even Hunter states that the installation of the mounting plate is not included in the time. I would also subtract such unnecessary steps as taking the fan out of the packaging, reading the instructions, going up and down the ladder, grabbing needed tools, and screwing in the bolts.

Watching Hunter's video, people are literally standing on the floor, hanging an assembled fan, screwing on some wire nuts, and snapping the fan blades on. I wish it were so simple.

Hunter is doing itself a disservice with this ridiculous 5 minute claim, and needs to get back to reality. They produce a decent ceiling fan, with a few time saving features. Leave it at that.

I purchased this product for a new wine cellar I was having out in my basement. It was just what I wanted. The room is a Tuscan design, and the rustic, casual look of this fixture fits with the decor nicely. I have put it on a dimmer and am using fairly low wattage bulbs so the number of lights is not overpowering.

I'm happy with this Bulbrite Vintage Fixture... It looks nice and seems solid enough. It fits right in with the look I was going for. The only thing that confused me a bit was the fact that the description says "cloth covered adjustable cord". I wasn't sure if that meant that it came with a plug attached and the cord was cloth covered to be consistent with the style? Well, there's about 8" of wires sticking out the back, but it's not cloth covered and there's nothing adjustable about it. Why would there be? It's meant to mount on/wire into an electrical box in the wall (FYI-the fixture could probably be mounted on a wall without wiring directly into a box. I actually mounted it onto a framed wood panel that I built to match my headboard. I drilled a hole to run the wires through this wood panel so that you hardly see the cord at all because the wood panel is mounted just a couple of inches above my headboard. If you mounted it directly to a wall without an electrical box you might have to drill a hole in the bottom of the fixture to run a cord through... otherwise it wouldn't mount flush with the wall. You'd also need to attach a cord with a switch because the fixture itself doesn't have a switch). Anyway... I'm rating this item at 4 stars instead of 5 just because I feel like it's a little expensive for what it is. I know that similar styles often cost a lot more... So, for this type/style of fixture this one is the best value that I could find, but I still feel like you're being charged extra just because this style is a little difficult to find. The quality is good, but nothing truly impressive. I was a little surprised how lightweight the fixture is. If it wasn't for the mirrors built into the shade it wouldn't have much heft to it at all. That's just my opinion. I'm a little cheap :) Also, I felt like it was difficult to see the true color of this fixture in the photos provided in the description. The description says "pewter finish" and that is accurate. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the finish isn't quite as dark as I'd imagined it would be from the photos. It is fairly dark but also a little reflective/shiny, which is probably why it's a little hard to tell from the photos.

I've installed 8 of these tracks to replace flourescent tube lights with non-toxic energy saving LED bulbs. I tried the LED replacement tubes but they are expensive and the light is too blue (5000f). The Par 30 LED bulbs I use from Kobi Electric are about 3000f and cast a nice warm light; they're dim-able too. each bulb is twice the cost of this track light kit. The bulbs last a lifetime and draw 12 watts and are bright; they cast the light of a 75 watt bulb or more. I've mounted up to 5 cans on one of these tracks and they work fine. My hope is that some of these hard to reach locations will never need to be touched again in their lifetime. Some cautions: this track setup works fine but while the track is solidly built the light cans are flimsy and require some careful handling. Screw in the bulbs very precisely to be sure the bulbs are seated correctly and don't overrun their screw threads. Very Carefully. My most successful technique is to mount the bulb while the can is free (not mounted on the track yet) Hold the can so the track fitting is on top and the wide mouth is the lowest part. Insert the bulb 'up' into the light can and turn the can slowly while holding the bulb stationary. If you have any doubt about the bulb threads aligning with the can's threads; back out the bulb and try again.

Overpriced. The 360 rotation is fine but the up and down is so rigid that you need to hold the base of the light or you will damage it. The light sockets within the lamp fixtures easily move and become misaligned when repositioning the lights. A more reasonable price for such a low tech made in China product would be about 25 to 30.

The design looks great which is why I bought it however the quality is lacking. Its made in China and resembles something that you could pick up in Target for much less.There is nothing special about the quality of the wood used. Its ok. The lamp once assembled greatly leans to one side and that is the reason for my frustration. Also there was a 1/4 inch glob of glue or some other substance sticking to part of the wood and metal where they meet. The wood seems damaged from that but I could live with this if the lamp was not so crooked. I turned the lamp 180 degrees to make sure it was not my wood floor that was the problem. The lamp leans in the opposite direction once turned. Note, I assembled it very carefully.

nice looking lamp, but it leans to one side a bit, and the wiring is a bit sloppy, for some reason they decided to make a hole on the base rather, and just having like a slot for it to go through flat along the ground... contacted the manufacturer about the defect (leaning), and they said to take it up with amazon. also, the metal parts dont look as metallic in real life--doesnt have the same shine. the color on the metal looks painted on. would definitely be worth it for the price if it werent crooked. for such poor quality control, it shouldnt cost this much. also, the lampshade that came with mine is white, and not cream like shown in the photo.

We mostly have classic mid-century lamps and furniture and this fits right in with our vintage pieces, though would work with more traditional or modern decor as well. Note that the shade is a bit more white than the cream/off white pictured.

I'm very pleased with this lamp -its sleek design compliments my mid-century modern decor beautifully, and looks great next to my Eames chair.. Both the nickel and the wood seem to be of high quality. There is one little glue spot on the shade, but it's in the back where it doesn't show. The lamp is perfectly straight -none of the leaning problems that others have mentioned. It was very easy to assemble. I had been looking for a vintage lamp for this spot for over a year -this has the perfect look with modern wiring, and at a good price. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

I got this size for my garage as well as the smaller 12 inch version for my front porch, and I'm extremely happy with both. You can check out my review of the 12 inch version for more details, but, in summary, these lights are solid and classy and the light they cast is stunning using only a clear 25 watt energy saving halogen bulb equivalent to a 40 watt incandescent.

Our TV suddenly started getting much darker. We even upped the brightness and moved from the "natural" setting to the "brilliant" setting. It was starting to look over exposed and still too dark. We knew we needed a new bulb and thus ordered this one.

The replacement process was very simple. We had to undo 3 screws to get the old bulb out and then replace the light bulb. The new bulb even came with a much better version of 2 of the 3 original screws. You should use this opportunity while behind your TV to vacuum up all the accumulated dust and clean all the vents on the back of your TV. Make sure to vacuum the recess where this light housing goes.

The new bulb works great. We are back to the "natural" setting and 50% brightness setting. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the new bulb takes around a minute to come to full brightness. Our original bulb was at full brightness much faster than that; maybe 10 seconds.

I couldn't believe the price. This vendor was very professional and the bulb works perfect. When I bought this TV I almost passed on it because I had heard that DLP bulbs were a problem and extremely expensive. This price was great and I just hope when this bulb goes out again I can find this vendor on Amazon again.
