I have owned and own several Woods "Yellow Jacket" extension cords. I purchased this one to replace a stolen one. They're popular with thieves too! Its well-constructed plug and socket separate it from the look-alike cords. The Woods cord is well worth the extra money. Also, it doesn't get stiff in cold weather. If you are using this for a weed whacker or leaf blower only, you can get by with the Woods 12/3 cord for about half the price. If you are running an air compressor or anything that has a high current requirement, a 100' 12/3 cord just isn't enough get this one.

If you know how to use a 10 gauge cord this cord is great, and flexibility is great in sub-zero temps.

If you are like everybody else with previous reviews:

A 10/3 cord works very well if you need to run high amperage (i.e. air compressor, table saw, etc), or you are using the 100ft 10 gauge cord for a lead on a job-site for other cords to plug into.

So, why not use it for everything...

If you are using electrical power, power should only be used in one direction. The power that comes into your house comes from a number 4 wire, from there it goes to your sub-panel where it splits to different circuits in a residential standard 12 gauge. Then you plug in your band-new 10/3 cord which violates the direction. The power coming from the smaller 12 gauge does not carry enough power to properly use a 10 gauge cord, it would be the same amount of power you would get from a good 12/3. To plug your 10/3 into the proper outlet you need to find a construction twist lock 20amp (with a 10 gauge adapter) or you need to plug-in to a properly wired 20 amp outlet aka "winking man"

If that doesn't change your mind, go to the store and look at the price of a 10/3 and a 12/3 of the same length; then pick both of them up. You'll know when your dragging a 10/3 cable around behind you as you run a leaf blower or skill saw. Personally, I only use a 10/3 as a lead-cord or high amp and sitting still equipment like a compressor or table saw.

Case and point; if you have to ask what a 10/3 wire would be used for, you probably don't need it. Go with a good quality 12/3 (Yellow Jacket or ridgid.)

This extension cord is simply awesome. It's #10 wire, so it will safely carry a load around 30 amps (though the electrical connector on the end is only rated for around 15 amps.) Voltage drop over 100 ft is greatly lowered by virtue of the oversized conductors, so it's perfect for running a big load like an air compressor or welder. I use it to run a Hobart Handler 140 MIG welder and it works like a charm. It stays flexible in low temperatures and is very pliable, and the jacket is attractive and tough.

I ordered this cord from Boston Industrial through Amazon ,and they sent me an alternative cord without notifying me. The alternative cord is just fine, but it was annoying not to receive what I ordered. Be cautious when ordering through Boston Industrial....you may get an another brand without notification.

This light was perfect for above the kitchen sink. My house was built in 1992 and the sink has a lower ceiling than the rest of the kitchen, therefore a pendant light would not work. This was great, much nicer than the picture appears and you can aim the lights in various areas, it helped brighten up my entire kitchen as well as make it more modern looking. If you are thinking about it, I would highly recommend it. Just a note, it takes the smaller candelabra base light bulbs, but it can use up to 4 60 watt bulbs, which makes plenty of light. It made me hesitate to order it at first, but now that I have it, I would not give a second thought before ordering it again! Love it! Easy to mount, easy to look at, looks great with my new kitchen window too!

Okay, just get the candelabra bulbs, forget about E14 whatever or bi-pin, although it probably would take a bi-pin bulb. Looks nice, gives good light, reasonably priced, should have bought two, just relieved that I finally got the right bulb.

I bought two of these track lights to go in my kitchen ceiling. I like the clean, modern look. They light up my large galley kitchen fairly well. I wish the lights were a little farther apart, but that's because of the length of the room. My only problem is with the light bulbs, which isn't the fixture's fault. I've replaced seven of the eight bulbs in the last six months, and they're not on all that much. But the fixtures themselves look really nice and do an acceptable job of lighting up the large area.

I've had the Lumiy 1350 for about 2 weeks now. My comments are as follows.

Design:

In regards to design, my initial reaction was surprise to how small the box I received was. The head and foot of the lamp is flat and its neck is flexible, so it doesn't take up much space in either its box or my desk. The lamp comes split into 3 pieces: head+neck, base, and power cord. Setting it up is very simple and the neck does not seem to have any rotation limitations based on my use.

Features + Performance:

The lamp features touch controls which are cool, but the "buttons" can be hard to see. The only indicator given is on the power switch in the center that features a red light when off. This light disappears when the lamp is turned on. I'm not sure if it's because I received my lamp in black but I initially found myself struggling to find the proper buttons due to lack of sight. This however is a minor issue once memory of button placement kicks in after a day or so.

The brightness is adjustable at 3 levels: low, medium, and high, plus interchangeable between cool and warm lighting. This lamp on its highest setting is extremely bright. With that said, it should be understood that this is a desk lamp that is better used for "focus". This means it is best placed closer to your reading, writing, and/or drawing material. With the right angle tilt of the head, the Lumiy 1350 can illuminate your whole room, but it's clear that is not its purpose. If you are like me and prefer a stationary light for your workspace purposes, this lamp is perfect for you.

Energy:

As expected from an LED lamp, the Lumiy 1350 has many energy saving aspects. It comes with a timer feature that turns the lamp off within an hour and the lamp's power consumption is a low 7 watts. But what I find most impressive about this lamp is its LED life. The lamp's LED life is estimated to be over 40,000 hours! Basically if used for 8 hours a day, the Lumiy 1350 should last over 13.5 years.

In summary, based on the Lumiy 1350's design, performance, and promises in energy efficiency, I can say it is worth my purchase. If you are looking for a bright, adjustable, long-lasting lamp to help your workflow, this product is definitely worth it.

Have had my Lumiy Lightbeam 1350 Desk Light for two weeks. I absolutely love this light. The ability to adjust brightness and color temperature is both unique and welcome. I use this lamp on a hutch above my computer and it casts a wonderful light across the entire desk. I prefer the warm, midrange setting, and it provides a glare free unobtrusive work light for me. I purchased it in black, and it is a high gloss, piano black finish that matches my computer components perfectly. I would highly recommend this lamp to anyone looking for a quality constructed, extremely energy efficient and beautifully adaptable desk light. This is a good fixture especially for low and angled ceilings like that found in my installation. It was affordable, lightweight, and easy to install. The bulbs are a bit on the expensive side and they tend to burn out more easily than I'd hoped. Also, the individual lights provide more of a spotlight effect than diffuse lighting and it doesn't penetrate very far if you're trying to install it in a room with high ceilings. But for my application it works just fine.

We replaced a boring fluorescent light with one of these. Previous Amazon reviews made us hesitate a bit, but reviews of the same product on other sites were very good, so we decided to give it a try.

It's been a month now and we haven't had an issue. Installation was a cinch (for someone with a bit of experience). Looks great. Function's even better! The lights are fairly direct while allows us to highlight 3 spots in our kitchen (range, sink, and a small counter).

Definitely recommended.

I'm an electrical contractor. When asked, this is the only light I will recommend. If I have to supply undercabinet lights this is the only brand I will use. The light burns 50% cooler than Halogen, is dimmable via an wall switch or you have the switch on the fixture that has a "High low & off" I never get call backs on these and I cant remember one of these ever failing.

And yes, I have these in my kitchen office and laundry room.

The light itself is a perfect glow. The installation is straightforward. The big drawback is attaching the light diffusing lens back in place. The lens is designed to attach to the light by hooking the front end of the lens to the body first and "popping" the lens onto the body. For some reason, the light frame's dimension changes once mounted to the cabinet. This ever so slight change in frame size prevents the lens cap staying in place. It makes the task of putting the lens cap on a nightmare.

To get this to work, I had to place VERY small washers in the back of the light interior. This made the interior dimensions ~1/16" smaller. This difference made the lens stay in place once assembled. Even with the modifications, the lens does not "pop" in place. The front edge HAS to be depressed into the retaining lip last. This is backwards from the directions and is not easy.

All in all, the lights look nice. The price was right and with some modifications they are fully functional. Would I buy this model again? Doubtful.

Product was purchased 3 years and 2 months ago and was installed by licensed electrician. When one stopped working, i determined that the transformer (functions similarly to the ballast in florescent lights) had failed. An internet search revealed that this is not an uncommon problem for these lights. Don't even try to find the transformer at electrical supply centers because i wasted a morning trying to do so. I called Kichler customer service and the service courteously informed me that they do not sell replacement parts for their under-cabinet lights and my only option was to purchase a replacement given that the two year warranty had expired. So after 3 years, my Kichler lights are disposable; very disappointing.

In the spring of 2006 I renovated my kitchen. I chose Kichler 10581 series for my under cabinet/over counter top lights. I have eight of them, five large (roughly 30 inches), three small (roughly 12 inches). In the last two years I have had to replace four lights, three large, one small. My most recent replacement failed after less than 6 months use. Not one light bulb was bad. My contractor, who recommended Kichler and advised me to contact Kichler. He told me the problem has to be the transformers.

I am really unhappy. I emailed Kicher to ask for an explanation for this abysmal performance. No one responded

The light is well made although it requires to be hard wired or convereted as there is no plug.

The lens cover is difficult to remove when replacing bulbs. It needs more strength than some people may have to unsnap it.

I didn't realize it had locking joints, so it took a bit of getting used to as I moved it around, loosened and locked it repeatedly until I found a position I preferred. We are going for the modern look in our home, thus the style initially attracted us. That said, I also like the chrome finish, giving the lamp a high quality appearance. Speaking of quality, overall the lamp is sturdy and well-built just make sure to lock it into place to prevent it from falling over after adjusting it.

I was looking for an Energy Star rated, moderately priced, ceiling fan with light for a bedroom. This model met my needs. This is the fourth ceiling fan I have installed in my years as a homeowner, but I lay no claim to being a ceiling fan expert. It may take me a bit longer than average, but I am persistent and all of my fan installations, including this one, have ended up working just fine.

This fan may be the best designed of those I have installed. First, it was expertly boxed, for both compactness and content protection. The production quality of its parts is superior, and they fit together beautifully. It is shipped with all necessary hardware, in fact, more than you actually need. The assembled and mounted fan is attractive and super quiet (actually, noiseless). With five blades, it moves lots of air, and the lighting unit puts out just the right amount of soft light for general room lighting..

Although I am very happy with the final result, I was very frustrated during its installation because of the confusing, incorrectly sequenced installation instructions. A ceiling fan engineer may not have had any problem, but the average do-it-yourself person will have the same problems I had. If the manufacturer of this fan had simply had a non-professional do a trial installation using their installation manual, the lack of clarity would have become immediately obvious. In an apparent effort to cut corners on printing costs, the instructions combine three scenarios for installation: using a drop-down mount, using a flush-to-ceiling mount, and using Canadian mounting requirements. It was not well done. I would gladly have paid a few more dollars for an installation manual that was crystal clear upon a first reading.

If you buy this product, expect some frustration during installation. But if you tough it out, you will be well satisfied with the end result.

The design looks great which is why I bought it however the quality is lacking. Its made in China and resembles something that you could pick up in Target for much less.There is nothing special about the quality of the wood used. Its ok. The lamp once assembled greatly leans to one side and that is the reason for my frustration. Also there was a 1/4 inch glob of glue or some other substance sticking to part of the wood and metal where they meet. The wood seems damaged from that but I could live with this if the lamp was not so crooked. I turned the lamp 180 degrees to make sure it was not my wood floor that was the problem. The lamp leans in the opposite direction once turned. Note, I assembled it very carefully.

nice looking lamp, but it leans to one side a bit, and the wiring is a bit sloppy, for some reason they decided to make a hole on the base rather, and just having like a slot for it to go through flat along the ground... contacted the manufacturer about the defect (leaning), and they said to take it up with amazon. also, the metal parts dont look as metallic in real life--doesnt have the same shine. the color on the metal looks painted on. would definitely be worth it for the price if it werent crooked. for such poor quality control, it shouldnt cost this much. also, the lampshade that came with mine is white, and not cream like shown in the photo.

I was hesitant after reading some mixed reviews, but am so glad I made this purchase. This is a solid, classy lamp and a great value; I love the warmth of the wood and the elegant shape. We mostly have classic mid-century lamps and furniture and this fits right in with our vintage pieces, though would work with more traditional or modern decor as well. Note that the shade is a bit more white than the cream/off white pictured.

I'm very pleased with this lamp -its sleek design compliments my mid-century modern decor beautifully, and looks great next to my Eames chair.. Both the nickel and the wood seem to be of high quality. There is one little glue spot on the shade, but it's in the back where it doesn't show. The lamp is perfectly straight -none of the leaning problems that others have mentioned. It was very easy to assemble. I had been looking for a vintage lamp for this spot for over a year -this has the perfect look with modern wiring, and at a good price. I'm very pleased with this purchase.
