The product is a very attractive design, well made, accurately described in the Amazon advertisment and ideal to hang as a pendant fitting in a stairwell or from the centre of a roof in a medium sized room. We ordered three of the fittings for a stairwell and two more for a room above overlooking the harbour. They are easy to install,work very well and lend a nautical ambience to the decor.
We live in New Zealand and I was very impressed that all three lamps were delivered within ten days of ordering; the first arrived within seven days.The packaging was adequate but I was disappointed to find that when the boxes were opened the white interior surface of two of the lamps was chipped and scratched. Not badly, and not to a degree that would justify returning the product, but enough to take the edge off a reasonably priced and well designed interior fitting.It seems the damage could only have happened prior to packaging.Not much can be done about this but it did take the gloss off what would otherwise have been a very satisfying experience.

the only thing I didn't like was the inside is white. I understand that is for the reflection of the light, but I didn't want to look up and see white. Using this fixture over our dining table in our newly rebuilt (SANDY) beach cottage. Its the perfect addition to the room, nautical, simple and the finish matches the kitchen fixtures in the adjacent room. We are having trouble finding the large clear bulb we want to finish the look but otherwise, perfect!

Only had this a few weeks, but it is a much nicer fixture than the typical high pressure sodium yard light. Hopefully it will last more than a couple of years, which has been the failure rate for the yard lights I have been using. But, being a commercial fixture it costs about twice as much as a typical yard light.
The fixture is completely sealed which should keep the bugs out. Lighting coverage and spread is about the same as the typical yard light. I have it mounted just below the second floor roof overhang and it lights the 85-90 foot wide yard as well as the yard lights did, although I haven't taken the light meter out and actually done a comparison.
The photo-electric cell turns the light on a little earlier in the evening and off a little later in morning than I prefer. Nothing in the instructions about an adjustment. Not a major problem, just increases the operating time a little.
I an very satisfied with the looks and quality of the fixture. Time will tell if the life span of the ballast was worth the extra dollars. The ballast in the yard lights always failed well before the life span of the HPS bulb.

I ordered the bronze unit based on the color presented on this page. I actually wanted what is called satin (a medium grey). The bronze unit is not grey, but actually almost black. The picture is incorrect. The customer service from 1stoplighting has been stellar. They contacted me regarding the issue, arranged to exchange the units, and all with no problems. If you want a lighter grey, order Satin, if you want very dark, almost black, order the bronze but order from 1stoplighting. Best price and great service.

After agonizing about whether to spend so much money on a single pendant light, I went for it. No regrets! The lamp looks absolutely beautiful all lit up. The sole reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the "grout" lines (for lack of a better description) between tiles are much more prominent than depicted in the picture. Hence, the lamp has a bit more of a more rustic look than I expected. But I love it nonetheless and even got a second one.

It looks neat, but the curve doesn't adjust, just the shade. The curve is allot deeper than is pictured so it takes up allot of room. Would be ok with a really big desk but I wanted it for a small table beside my chair for reading and it doesn't work well. I installed this chandelier in an afternoon. Although the instructions aren't the greatest, I was able to follow them and I was replacing another chandelier, so some of the items, like the hanging bar in the electrical box, was already installed, which made things easier. Everything fit together well, with no rough or unfinished surfaces. The hardest part is opening and closing the steel links of the hanging chain having 2 vice grip pliers definitely helps for this unless you have a lot of arm strength. It does NOT come with the 12 candelabra bulbs required, so make sure to stop off at the home supply store and purchase these before you hang it up. Your bulbs must be under 60 watts/bulb. I installed 40 watt bulbs and it was plenty of light you probably can get by with 25 watt bulbs if you don't have a dimmer switch installed. Good value although I see the price has gone up a bit since my purchase. If you need a fairly inexpensive, classic brass chandelier for a dining room, you can't get much better than this for the money. Save the $$'s for your furnishings no one will know you didn't spend $1000 for a fancy chandelier.

I'm not a child afraid of the night... I'm actually a grown man. This thing is retro/scifi and looks great if you're into that sort of thing. I have a very modern and utilitarian style home and this piece fits in. I'm not sure where it will end up or how I'll use it, but it's a keeper.
Placed on the floor in the corner of a room, the light projects nicely on the wall and can really accent a dark room. Remove the glow-in-the-dark balls and this light is even brighter and with all the lights off can produce enough light to see and navigate in my 12'x15' room without your eyes having to adjust.
The light and colors are obtained are from LEDs. Many of the various hues have an almost lazer-light glow that can't be achieved by any standard or fluorescent light bulbs. The light emitted is from a number of colored LEDs under the stem the balls sit in. I've had it on ever since I received it and it's always cool to the touch, so it's definitely child-safe.
The balls are made of what appears to be typical glow-in-the-dark plastic and are about the size of a ripe plum or one of those stress relief squeeze balls. These balls glow decently, however the LEDs don't output that much light so the balls will never be 'fully charged'. They're easily visible in the dark though, and even visible in a poorly-lit room.
This unit can produce a mostly white-bluish/white light if you set it manually. If you set it to automatically change colors, the white is the only color that it will not cycle through. The sliding switch on the base provides quite a range of color choices. The slider is a little finicky... sometimes it's easy to pass a particular color, but that's not really a big deal as there are so many cool colors that radiate intensely.
The only real negative is the sliding switch that controls the hue feels really cheap. The slider is recessed into the base quite well, but feels fragile. Otherwise, the lamp looks and feels very durable and the overall quality is excellent.
I wish this had adjustable speeds for color rotation and a remote. What's really missing in this lamp is a mode to sync to music. That would be amazing. I'm surprised that something this decorative, useful and well made could have been marketed differently and sold for more money.
Wow, that's a lot more than I expected to write for some silly child's night light... lol

Updated: I contacted Boon and they sent us a brand new lamp for free that has worked perfectly! My kiddo loves the color change function, and I love the glowing balls that give off just enough light to keep kiddo's room "monster free" and not too much to keep him awake at night.I really like this light and was excited when it arrived. The colors are vibrant and the glowing balls are awesome. I've had it for about two months now and it's suddenly stopped working. I can't get it to turn on at all. I've written to Boon about it but haven't heard back. If they reply with a satisfactory resolution, I'll probably remove this review since it really is a great light, but I just wanted to warn other folks about my issue.

well it looks nice and is one of the nicer night lights. but then its the most expensive one.I had assumed the balls to be a little higher quality. they look much better on the amazon images than in reality. they are just the standard glow in the dark plastic. while the balls glow for 30 minutes, the base has to be turned on / off manually. this is a bummer as your kid will fall asleep and the light will be pretty bright all night long.
i was hoping that the base would shut down itself as well...
somewhat mixed whether we will keep it.
update: so it broke after 3 months. one of the bulbs has the wrong color and doesnt change anymore with the other two. it still does its job, but for this premium, they need to get QA up. hope someone starts making a really cool high quality night light sometime soon, maybe ill check kickstarter

This item looked so awesome and had great reviews I was stoked to find out my son received it has a christmas present from his grandpa.When the box arrived I was shocked at its light weight. Although this may sound nice to some, what it meant to me was, it is made of cheap plastic. All of it.
For the first 30 minutes or so the balls only glo in one tiny spot. It does state it takes 30 minutes but what this means is...You need to start it long before your child goes to bed to be able to turn it off and have the balls still glo somewhat bright.
...Ok Still good at this point and will deal with the things above... but then...
One leg stopped working. As I had read on many other reviews, happened to others. I wrote to Boon and to my surprised received a kind response from Jennifer the very next day. They wanted a picture of the light. No problem at all, I provide. They wrote back told me to cut the power cord and write a number on the base, take a picture of it, send it back and they will send the replacement. My issue with this, it is a $70 item with 75% working parts and you want me to just throw it away. If the material being used means that little why are you charging so much?
I think it is wasteful and poor practice. I rather keep the cord attached ship it back to be recycled and reused if possible, then to just trash it. I still have the Glo light with one ball not working and 30 days to decide what I want to do with it. I am bummed.
My other suggestion to Boon besides to not just throw things away, is to lower the price. Buyer beware to me... the quality is not worth the price you are paying.

This sconce replaced some very cheap sconces in my dining room. They are packed very well so there shouldn't be any damage from shipping. They were easy to install and came with instructions and all the parts needed. They are well made and sturdy. The bronze color and the frosted glass go well with each other and they look great on the wall. Can't recommend them enough. In fact, after installing these I bought four Minka sconces in a different style to replace the cheap sconces in my family room. Overall I'm very impressed with these sconces in particular and other Minka products as well.

We like the sconces, especially the look. They installed easily and leave a nice glow above and below. We put in a total of eight of these around a stair case. No damage or issues. Shipped quick. I'm thinking about putting a similar style from this manufacturer above our bathroom sink.I think these will be easy to maintain because the curved glass in front pulls out the top so changing future light bulbs will be with minimal effort.

We purchased this fixture along with 2 other sconces in the same line/style. We like the others however this particular fixture has an odd greenish glow to the glass which is very noticeable and not aesthetically pleasing. We tried several different bulbsvarying wattage, clear, frost, decorative, etc. Nothing changes the neon like glow. Unfortunately it is installed and we are stuck with it for now.
