The lamp's screw thread connections are poorly manufactured and the lamp stands crooked. Also, the light shades were dinged and deformed during delivery. Delivery damages aside, I'm very disappointed with the overall poor quality of this product.

An oldie-but-goodie lamp concept that I remember fondly from the 1950s. The cool retro look works in my living room for reading, needlework and ambient lighting. It works just as well in my office, where I have one "bullet" pointed at the computer, one at the desk and one straight up. The brushed steel has a quality look and the swivel heads work smoothly so far and stay where you put them, unlike some much fancier and more expensive task lights where the arms collapse under the weight of the shade (I'm talking about you, Tolomeo). These are simple, practical, versatile lighting tools that, to my mind, are worth more than the price.

I looked at nearly every tree lamp on Amazon and chose this one based on the relatively high reviews. The one prior review about the poor packaging gave me pause, but I figured it was a fluke. It was not. The box arrived falling apart, the stryfoam inside was crumbling, taped together, and supplemented with styrofoam peanuts. One of the three lamps was broken completely off the pole. Even if it were not broken, I would not have liked this lamp. The shades are thin and cheap looking and appear to be plastic, not metal. I do give five starts to Amazon for their excellent return policies they refunded my money right away and told me to dispose of the broken lamp (rather than having to send it back).

Ordered 2. 1 stopped working after 2 weeks. The light is extremely dim on that one. Changed batteries. Tried recharging the ones in it. No use. The tops were also "copper-like". Meaning plastic colored copper. Too much $$ for what you get.

When I first received the pair of lights only one worked. I emailed and called CC. To my surprise, I received a new replacement cap in about a week. I had written a negative review earlier because I hadn't heard back from the company. I'm delighted that they sent me a new working light but wish they had communicated their intention better.

I apologize for the negative content.

I think,the light is OK but it is NOT copper. It is a plastic light painted an antique copper color. For those expecting to get a real metal/copper lighting unit, you might be disappointed. I was initially but got over it pretty quickly.

Both lights now work fine and look great. We'll see how they stand up to a Minnesota winter.

We ordered two packs (4 caps) for our new deck. Shipping from Canada was expensive but they arrived quickly and looked exactly as pictured. They were well packed, included adequate instructions and were easy to install. We liked the fact there is an 'off' 'auto' switch instead of the usual 'pull out the plastic tab' method of keeping the batteries from discharging before putting them out in the sun. And that's where the '5 stars but...' came in.

After just a few days the lamps were markedly different in performance, some staying lit until well after 2AM, others were out before midnight. We really liked the looks of the caps and didn't want to return them. A quick note to Classy Caps elicited a response from Amber to try some other nicad batteries (if we had them) as the batteries could be the problem. We had some AA nicads, installed them and the problems went away. We emailed Amber a second time and asked for 6 replacement batteries. Less than a week later we received a package with 8 new, and larger nicads and a replacement cap too (we had one that didn't always come on). Everything is working as expected now and we like the look of our new caps. The reason for 4 instead is at this price point it was disappointing to have to go back to the manufacturer for service on an item that just came out of the box.

That being said we wouldn't hesitate to purchase from Classy Caps again, their willingness to troubleshoot the problem and supply the necessary parts to 'make it right' is pretty impressive in this day and age.

I absolutely love this light fixture! It casts beautiful shadows in my foyer, adding (if I might brag) such elegance to it. I bought one in brushed nickel. It's perfectly coordinated with the brushed nickel door knob and light switch plate.

I've never installed a light fixture before in my life but when I read the directions and saw how simple it looked, I had to give it try before I would consider calling a handyman. It was so easy to install that I'm going to change a hallway fixure soon.

I was pleasantly surprised that I received it the day after it shipped. This was much faster than I was expecting it. I was a little worried about how it would be packaged when I ordered it because it is primarily glass but it arrived in execellent condition. In fact, it was packaged so well that there was hardly any chance it could have been broken or even cracked.

I would recommend this vendor to anyone, especially my friends, and I won't hesitate to order from this vendor again. Thanks so much for the prompt and careful customer service.

Update: The Brushed Steel version that I reordered is indeed steel finish and it is a beautiful lamp. Sturdy and well made and beautiful. I am very pleased with it, it was all worth it! Too bad we are not allowed to review 2 versions of a product. The Brushed Steel version met all my expectations while the so-called Oil Rubbed Bronze version was not as described. Five stars and one star equals 3 stars. Also with all the trouble about shipping (UPS delivered in 3 days instead of 2) I think 3 star is warranted. But this is a nice lamp, steel if you prefer that, or black if you prefer that.

This lamp is not an oil rubbed bronze or any kind of metallic finish as the website claims. It is a black painted lamp with a thin stripe of bronze colored metal on the edges of the post. Black does not work at all with my decor. I am returning this and ordered the brushed steel version, but am worried that will be black with a thin metallic stripe too. It is such a hassle to print out the labels, pack everything back up, and go to a UPS location. If I could get out that easily, I wouldn't be shopping online. I'm getting really tired of so many things on the Amazon website not being as pictured or described. Amazon Support says they have no better way than I do to tell whether their merchandise will actually be as advertised. I know they're a huge company, but they are still selling these things under their name, and it seems like they need to devote some attention to quality control and making sure their customers get what they ordered.

Cheap Design House 503284 2-Light Ceiling Mount, 4.5-Inch by 13-3/8-Inch

Once you get these light fixtures installed, you will probably like how they look, however between receiving them in the box and installing them, be prepared for some aggravation and (likely) cursing.

The machining of the metal parts leaves something to be desired and you may feel like you have to pay somewhat with your own sweat labor to get the thing together and to work properly. I think this is due to poor quality control and the attempt to make a decent looking fixture to a low price point, so corners were cut in the production. I had the most problem with the outer metal parts which (hopefully) hold the glass lens in position so it can be installed over the light bulbs. In 2/4 cases this assembly was so poorly made and fell apart before I even touched it, that I felt like I was finish labor on the Chinese lighting goods assembly line that produced this product. In one case I basically had to remake the brackets holding the screws that keep these metal parts together, which was easier than sending the product back.

The last two of 6 ordered were shipped separately (all were ordered at the same time) and by the time they arrived I'd already installed the other 4 (with a lot of cursing in the process). One of the last 2 that arrived obviously had its glass piece shattered as I could hear the pieces moving around when I lifted the unopened box. I decided to return these last 2 fixtures as I needed a matched pair for the remaining location, plus the thought of fighting with this marginally made product was going to take every last ounce of my remaining patience. I decided to order something else instead.

On the plus side, the glass lens is a plus compared to many similarly priced fixtures that have plastic lenses and that look very cheap (which this does not).

Finally, I found that only one 13w compact fluorescent bulb was more than sufficient to provide the lighting I needed from these fixtures. If you install 2 bulbs these fixtures can throw a lot of light.

Looks good and works very well. Only complain is that the sides are open to the ceiling, allowing the odd moth or mosquito to find it's way in quite easily. Easy enough to remove the cap and clean, though.

I needed a replacement ceiling light over my kitchen sink, but I didn't want one that uses bulbs that are hard to find. I also wanted one that looked nice to go with items in my kitchen, which has stainless faucet and appliances. After reading positive reviews about this light I decided to buy it. This work light has a surprising bright light! In addition to providing bright light as a work light it can also be used in an emergency to flash red light. The switch to turn on each mode works smoothly and easily, despite being covered by a silicone cover to keep the unit water tight.

The work light has a neoprene handle and a steady base (which can be removed if desired). The light can be pivoted to control what area it lights up.

It comes with rechargeable lithium battery and two charging cables: AC plug and car plug. After fully charging the unit, I left it turned on (bright light setting) until the light went out. The light operated 1 hours 52 minutes on one full charge. It continued to be the same brightness to the very last second.

The oval shade that comes with this piece looks incredibly awkward on top of the lamp itself. It just looks smashed and odd to me, and I plan to replace it. Considering how much it cost, I really wasn't pleased. If it had been shown from a side angle, I don't know that I would've purchased it.

I will say that aside from the shade, the lamp is well represented by the picture. It's got some weight to it and the base is a decent size, so it doesn't seem like it'll topple easily. I've got 2 pretty active cats and they have yet to threaten the safety of this lamp. I'm not sure it's worth the price, considering that I'll be replacing the insanely ugly shade.

Not only is this exterior lamp beautiful, it works wonderfully. I have a rather enclosed front porch that is somewhat dark during the day and other lights would always come on too early. This light has the proper settings to work perfectly, even in my darkened front entry. I installed a 15 year high efficiency bulb and am very happy with it. The light goes on at dusk, brightens if someone comes up the walk, and turns off in the morning. Great buy.

I've had this light for a little over a month now and I love itI actually bought a 2nd one as well. It has a very elegant look to it so my wife is pleased too. When installing it you do need to take into account that the light sits lower than most lights as it is on the bottom rather than the top. This is especially important to note since the Motion-sensor for this light is on the top side and depending on how high you install it to compensate for the light being lower you could potentially block out some of the close range of the motion detector.

The one heads up I would give about this light is that the globe is not "frosted" the way that it looks in the pictures. Instead it has bubbles within the glass.

The light does what it's supposed to do and is very easy to install. It took me about 10-15 minutes from start to finish including adjustments of the sensor. I have it set to medium high and for me that is the perfect balance. As soon as I get out of my car on the driveway it picks me up from the porch and I haven't got any false motions on it yet that I've noticed.

I'v had three of these lamps installed on our home for four years. I just purchased a fourth lamp to install on an addition. The finish is top notch and i have not noticed any wear or rust in the 4 years i have had them. The glass is not pictured well in these photos. It is really just clear glass with a few small bubbles here and there. So you do need to install a nice looking bulb. The sensor is at the top of the lamp so it does not sense downward angles as well as it would otherwise. However, you can rotate the sensor module from left to right to customize the area of motion detection. It is also imporant to remember that motion sensors work best when you cross their field of view. Walking straigh at a motion sensor is often not enough to set it off. This is a fact of how motion sensors work and not specific to this model. One final note, the base of this lamp is large and rectangular. If you are replacing existing lights and you have siding, you many need to also replace the peice of wood/vinyl that is the decroative surround for the lights as this base will overhang most round peices. This wouldn't be an issue for people mounting the light on a level surface. My fourth lamp was purchased from PlumbersSuppy thru Amazon. They advised 6-10 days before it would ship but i received it 3 days after ordering. I am very pleased with my transaction.

1. My concept of wrought iron is not the same as the manufacturer. This is just metal.

2. It is not black it is scratched up black.

3. Quality control is not good. One bottom finial would not fit and I had to make my own adjustments. When I called customer service they accused me of damaging the product.

4. The instructions might as well be in Chinese. How about larger type and more step by step instructions. A separate instruction sheet is included with devices to hold the glass in place. Trouble is there are conflicting instructions depending on which side of the paper you read.

5. You need x-ray vision to line up the mounting screws with the holes. If they were design smart they would have formed the entrance to the holes with a funnel-like entrance to help guide the screws. You need a lot of luck and don't get impatient.

6. Finally got the two I bought installed and they WORK!!!

You will be disappointed if you want wrought iron. These are silver metal with black paint brushed on (like fake antiquing), then they are covered with a clear coat. They are big (see dimensions in the ad), and should hold up well to the elements. I really like the motion detector and auto shut off capabilities. Mine come on when someone approaches the steps to my porch. My son says we should be living in a castle with these.....LOL
