This was a hard light to find in this configuration for some reason and Amazon had the best price. Progress is a great brand, it installed easily and it is a great quality fixture. The glass shades are interestingly textured and heavy weight. It's got a nice vintage/industrial lookthis was installed in our 1st floor powder room off a 50s inspired kitchen, so the nickel finish works with the chrome accents we have going on...I think this also comes in a bronze finish that looked really nice, too.

Great product it just didn't go we'll with our decor for a new bathroom. Amazons return policy is the worst I have been through. Back and forth emails, and It has been a week and I still cannot send the light back yet. I guess I will be shopping at the 'O' ther online store now.

We bought the 48 in. fixture for our master bath a little while ago, and we were so happy with it we bought the 36 in. model for a guest bath. Both fixtures, imho, have the look of uncluttered, simple elegance.

Both orders arrived quickly (though one came with a broken alabaster glass bowl looked like it got clobbered in transit but the bowl was quickly replaced, with no hassle), and installation was a snap.

Very pleased, overall.

Introduction: This company claims to make the "original" lava lamps because they invented the "Lava" name, but they licensed the actual product from the British company Crestworth, which started the production of this kind of lamps in the early 1960s and changed its name to Mathmos in the 1990s. A friend of mine has a truly "original" Mathmos lamp from the 1990s, which has pretty uniformly-colored water and wax from the bottom to the top when it is on. I have never seen a lamp of this quality from Lava Lite, but the Lava Lites are also much cheaper than corresponding products from Mathmos (which are not officially sold in the U.S.).

I got my first Lava Lite 16.3" lamp about 1 1/2 years ago. When it was on, the water and the wax showed the color of the (white) light bulb at the bottom and became more colorful towards the top, but the water was clear and wax bubbles were going up and down as they should. I liked it. Unfortunately this lamp was destroyed by a cleaning lady a few weeks ago.

My new lamp from Amazon is exactly the same model, but when it arrived two weeks ago, the water was very cloudy, and this has not changed so far. When the lamp is on and I look at it from a close distance, I can see the wax bubbles, but while the water is more cloudy than in the old lamp, the wax seems to be more transparent the desired effect of colorful wax bubbles moving in clear purple-colored water does not occur at all; from a distance it looks like an illuminated bottle of thin pomegranate juice. I am too lazy to send this $20 item back to Amazon, and some people say the cloudiness may disappear in a few weeks, thus I will keep this lamp and see what happens, but I am disappointed. And I don't understand why this new lamp is so much worse than the first one is it from a different factory? Was it shaken too much during shipping? Is it a "refurbished" lamp that was not treated right by its previous owner? Many other customers seem to have very similar problems with Lava Lite lamps. On the basis of these experiences I cannot recommend this product. Try to get the British one if you can.

Alot of folks have had bad luck with their LL's, so here are your LL basics:

1 If you receive a lamp with the liquid so cloudy that you cant see the lava, send it back for replacement.

these require special handling in shipment and must not be shaken or rattled. It should be shipped in an upright

possition.

2 After removing your LL from its box, you will see a round coil, possibly imbedded in some solid lava.

Try to get that coil down to the bottom near the bulb. If the coil will not lay on the bottom because of the wax,

just place the lamp in the base and turn the lamp on. It may take several hours for the wax to

melt enough to free the coil so it can rest on the bottom but do not leave the lamp on for more than 6 hours even

if the coil is not yet on the bottom.

Wait until the lamp is room temp and try again, NEVER leave the lamp on more than 6 hours.

3 Eventually, the wax will melt and the coil will settle on the bottom.

4 Never shake or even move the lamp while it's hot and the lava is flowing.

5 Check the bulb placement. The light bulb MUST be exactly dead center. If not, you can move it while it is cool.

6 Do not place your LL in a cold room (50 or less) because the wax will solidify too fast and eventually, it will

break-up into tiny globs.

7 One more time, most important (I dont care what someone else said), DO NOT leave your LL on for more then 6 HOURS.

If you do, the lava will break up into tiny beads and will never form a solid mass again. It will look like a mess

and it wont even move.

8 Buy your LL from someone you can trust and has a good return policy (like Amazon) because alot of LLs are received

damaged in shipping. Rough handling will cause the "cloudy" look where the wax has been mixed with the liquid.

9 If you want to see the lava at it's best, avoid the ones with dark colored liquid and light color lava because it

will be difficult to see the lava through the liquid. Clear liquid, or light blue or green works best for lava visibility :)

I have owned dozens of LLs in my life. Got my first one back in the 60's, and they made them much better back then.

Have fun with your LL and remember the 60's when life was less stressfull :)

Reading the reviews here, I was really wary of buying this item at all... It seems that the lamps with the "clear" fluid have issues with being very cloudy. So perhaps steer clear of those. I went with the version that has yellow lava and purple fluid. At first I thought that this combination of colors was going to look kind of tacky and not as classic as the red lava/clear fluid versions. I went for it anyway. I love the colors. The lava at the bottom looks like molten gold and as it rises, it looks reddish at the top. It pretty much looks like the cartoon image they show on the product page. The fluid is a pale purple and very clear. When it arrived, there were little flakes of "lava" (the wax) all throughout the fluid and I was a little worried about whether the flakes would disappear with use or if they would always "dirty" the fluid. Well, after running the lamp for about 4 hours, all the flakes of wax melted into the main blobs and the fluid is totally clear. It looks great and I'm really happy I got this larger size. So nice and way more affordable than the tiny ones I saw locally for twice the price.

I haven't had a lava lamp since I was little and I forgot how fun and hypnotic they are to watch! Recommended!

I have to say that Amazon shipped the lava lamp package in a box with no packing material thank goodness it didn't break. Not impressed with that part, but of course that's no reflection on the product. I haven't had it long enough to comment on the longevity of the lava lamp but it's off to a great start.

After reading these reviews, I decided to roll the dice and see if I could get a good lamp. I got a murky disgusting looking swamp bottle. I saw someone posted that the company has discovered a flaw in their manufacturing process, but I have no idea if that's true. Even if it is, who knows what that means or when/if we will be able to reliably get a good product from the end retailers. Steer far clear of this product. I posted some pictures here so you can see what you're probably going to get.

Lava Lites were first popular when I was a teenager. I was glad to see they were making a comeback and have been for several years. I bought two at the same time; this one and a glitter Lite. The glitter works fine but this one doesn't. I followed all instructions and the light worked but once. Each time I turned it on the Lava sits on the bottom and doesn't move.

I contacted Lava lite who told me to return it to Amazon. Amazon is just terriffic about returns. In two days I got a shipping label and the defective lite was on it's way. 1 star for Lava Lite but 5 for Amazon!

I bought this light to replace a 20+ year old track-type 2-bulb fixture above the sink in our kitchen. I needed something to cover the "footprint" of the old, and painfully ugly, fixture that was put in place when bright gold & black track lighting was in vogue (if there ever was such a time). This fixture fit nicely, was well made, is nicely finished and also added more light (being a 3-bulb design). The finish on this light matches modern stainless appliances well (Kithen Aid and Bosch in our case) and helped modernize the look of the kitchen. The only negative is that the instructions were pretty limited and might not serve the novice light installer very well.

After some comparing of various retailers, e-tailers, end ebay offers, I went ahead and bought this one. Arrived quickly, looks really great, and was fairly easy to assemble/install.

I was able to put it up on my own, but I would recommend having a second person helping to hold the fixture while you connect the wires and tighten the nut.

The glass globes look nice, compared to a cheaper fake alabaster fixture I purchased for another bathroom. They point down which I like more light where you need it. Compared to the cheapo 6-8 bulb standard fixtures that mostly blind you. The room will seem a bit darker overall, directional lighting at its finest.

I installed 4 Toshiba 7W 3500K LED bulbs in the fixture, nice neutral, flicker-free, instant on light.

Of course you need to see if the style fits with the rest of your bathroom design. If it does, this fixture is a great choice.

We purchased our first home two years ago and had minor cosmetic details to address immediately to feel at peace with our 'fixer.' Among these details were replacing every last lighting firxture in the dated home and what an improvement that small enhancement made! This fixture gave our guest bathroom a very expensive look on our 'just-gave-all-my-money-to-my-downpayment' budget. The actual look is so much better than the picture. It really doesn't look like there is a great circle in the middle of the bar of lights. Remember, you'll be looking up at this piece and while I hesitated at first, I decided I couldn't loose with this since it was only going in our guest bathroom and am so, so pleased with how it looks. The fixture doesn't give you much space between the lights and the wall, so if you have a framed mirror in your bathroom, the lights will have to hang above it. We tore down the cheap mirror that came with the house and bought a much nicer framed one the same size at HomeGoods, but had to return the first one we bought because it was too large and the frame couldn't fit under the lights. The smaller mirror paired with the fixture actaully looks perfect. For us, all the fixtures we bought through Royce lighting and Amazon.com were budget friendly and look much more expensive than they actually were.

I searched and researched LED lightening looking for a solution to add some light to my 12-fot long bedroom closet and for some under-counter lighting for my remodeled kitchen.

I tried and returned umpteen products from IKEA, Lowes, Home Depot. They worked okay, but for the closet I wanted something VERY small that I could just put on the back of the sliding door frame. This is a 12-foot long closet, deep enough for regular clothes hanging. There is no light in the closet or anywhere nearby. And only 1 power source about 2-feet outside the closet on the wall near the floor. Everything I tried had too many pieces, wires for linking and with the framed LED light they were just too big and bulky. And they were expensive. I wanted to cover 9-10 feet and I wanted the light to be natural looking so that I could distinguish between clothes that are black and those that are navy; a light that was not to "cool" and not too "warm".

I watched a few of the You tube videos showing how to DIY with the LED sticky back strip lighting. It looked pretty easy. But the costs were too high and the amount of strip LED in the kits was more then what I needed. Actually, I was looking for a really simple kit. Although you can buy all the pieces separately, since this was going to be my first venture at this I wanted a kit so that I had a comfort level that at least someone with more knowledge then me, put together all the necessary pieces. Now that I've done it, I would feel comfortable just buying the pieces that I need. And I would totally stick with this company, Inspired LED. The kit was SO easy. The connectors that they send you called "Tiger Paws" are easy, accurate and worked exactly as documented in the instructions. BTW, the instruction were awesome, VERY clear. With big detailed pictures for those of us with aging eyes!!

The power source (transformer) and very small, simple on/off switch, small brackets that I used to mount the very small connecting cables completed the kit. I used the whole 90 inch strip in one long piece so I didn't need the multiple Tiger Paws to connect multiple pieces of LED strip. It looks like you could also add a dimmer switch to this product. But I didn't need one.

I mounted the very small power cables inside some SATCO plastic wire cable covers (you can buy them at any ACE, Lowes, etc). The SATCO has a sticky strip on the back so I just made sure the wall was clean and stuck it to the wall. I cut the SATCO so that the on/off switch could be mounted directly to the wall and I used a SATCO corner angle piece near the baseboard to make it look a little neater. I mounted everything on the wall just inside where the sliding door hits the wall. So when the sliding door is closed you can't really see anything. The power cord runs on top of the baseboard and then into the plug.

FABULOUS lighting. Perfect for what I needed. I called Inspired LED once and got a real live person who obviously knew the product. My question was "Does the end of the LED strip need to be terminated?" The answer is "no". The support person also told me that if I send them a drawing (with dimension) of what I want to do for the under-counter light, they would do a design, send a quote and package up all the parts that I could then just put together. There is no cost for this service so I'm going to go that route. I have some parts left over so I'm going to do my own design and see how close I come to what they recommend. And then if there's no big price difference, I'll probably just order what I need. I wish I had more places where I could use this kind of lightening. I'm in a pretty small condo but maybe I'll find some other really creative use.

Anyway, product is VERY good, VERY useful and exactly as described. The Ultra Bright-COOL IS Ultra bright. I mounted it facing "in" instead of "down" so that I don't get blinded when I turn it on. It also seemed to spread the light better.

The only thing I would change is the on/off switch. It would be easier to mount if the cables connected on the ends of the switch; so you'd get a straight vertical line, top to bottom. As it is, the cables connect on the side. One for input and one for output. I suppose it's meant to be mounted horizontally. No big deal..

HIGHLY recommended.

This light is so good that after a year of moving around the one I had I got the second one. This light is outstanding for a shop application. It stays where you direct it, it is light enough that even when mounted to a wood base as I did, it is very mobile. The cord is heavy enough that it holds up to workbench activities. I use small parabolic halogen lamps in it and the housing stays cool enough to move around, and it is American made. Worth every penny!!!

Finally a great lamp. The reviews here were accurate. I've gone through over 5 hobby arm-lamps in the past few years, most suffering from weak swing arms/poor quality design. This lamp, however, is well worth every penny and has an outstanding build. Everything is high-quality construction. The flexible arm is very stiff and holds its position better than my artist daylight lamp which cost $200 and has a similar construction arm. Even though it is stiff, it moves easily to a new position...it just stays put very well. Also a heavy heat-sink in the light fixture with a very heavy-duty on/off switch. It feels weird to get excited about a lamp, but with so many out there that are absolute junk, this is sure a nice change. It is cheap considering the money saved on useless cheaper, low-quality lamps that just don't work or hold up over time. Too bad Danray doesn't make more products than lamps.

I also got the magnifying glass add-on. It is also well constructed, heavy, and well-crafted.

I searched around for a long time for a small simple gooseneck lamp but was cautious to purchase anything because so many reviews were bad. Then I found the Danray. I'm 47, and I've never had such a high-quality simple lamp before like this. People, don't waste your money on any of those cheap typical desk lamp goose necks that you'll find everywhere. The Danray's light focusing field is perfect, beautiful, just with a simple bulb. It feels like it won't break strength in all the right places, and they explain that in their booklet. The gooseneck is long, flexible but really stays put after you adjust it, and the switch seems like it won't ever get hot or start shorting out and flickering over time. Looks better than all the rest too gloss black, and the gooseneck has a protective black sleeve over it too. I use it for music practice, reading scores. I went with this traditional type of lamp because I have yet to find a LED desk lamp that has enough lumens, no matter how much they always boast about LEDs supposedly being 'super-bright"... Super-faint I say. Get the Danray and put a 100 watt bulb in, done.

Bought two of these fixtures. They seem like quality items, well-made and nicely finished. The only quirk is in the installation. The directions indicate that you put the mounting screws in the underside of the cabinet, then slide the fixture over the screws so that they insert into a 'keyhole' and hang securely. Try as I might, I just couldn't see how that would work. So, instead, I aligned the fixture, marked where the right side screw would go in, and drilled a pilot hole. I then screwed that side in part way, and marked the spot where the left side screw would go in. I removed the right side screw, drilled the left side pilot hole, and then could go ahead and screw in both sides firmly from the bottom. It seems secure, so we'll see.

We live in Arizona and have just relandscaped our front and back yards. I have purchased a variety of solar lights. First I will say that when you use solar, especially to spot areas, you should plan to use double the lights you would normally use. That being said the Smith Hawkin lights are by far the brightest, longest lasting, most white lights. They will hold a charge from dark (7 pm) until 4 in the morning. We are very happy with these products. I have both the spots and the rock lights. They are well made and durable. They are not plastic like many of the other brands.

I wanted to keep my Flag out all night, but didn't have the $$ and time to hard-wire some spots for proper illumination. After a quick search on Amazon, found these and decided to give them a try. Can't really complain, but to call them a "spot" light is being generous. These put out no more illumination than a cheap LED flashlight. The fact that you're running two lights off of just two AA rechargeable batteries also means you don't get many hours of light. They fade to black after about six hours; not enough to keep my Flag out the entire night. However, I like the sturdy construction of the material. These puppies were made to last! The solar panel itself is only plastic, so you need place it somewhere out of the way. And it doesn't take much light to recharge the system; even on cloudy days you get enough to power both lights for a few hours. I've noticed some condensation in one of the lights, but that doesn't seem to have affected it's performance. Overall I'm happy, but I think I will have to install low-voltage lights anyway.

I've been a Smith & Hawken customer for years and was never let down by any of the products they market. These solar lights, however, are garbage. The angle adjustment bolt on the side of one of the fixtures broke of when I tried to adjust it (I was able to glue it back together with strong epoxy, but there is no way to adjust it now). The lights are quite bright when they work, that is their only good point. The glass part holding the bulb in is not sealed, so they fill with water very quickly even if at only a slight upward angle. Not a very useful for OUTDOOR lighting. I regret spending so much money on them when I could have purchased another set of inexpensive plastic spotlights that probably would have lasted at least through the winter. I cannot recommend these lights to anyone.

Most solar spotlights I've experienced tend to be pretty dim. These were nice and bright, and charged well. Attractive fixtures, too. However, they shorted out a few times, and then stopped working all together about 3 months after purchase. Replaced the battery, no luck. Will try another brand.

Item was ok but nothing special. I mistakenly ordered 2 packages instead of 1. The company is very hard to deal with. Basically it took them 15 days to figure out it was ok for me to return my item in the original unopened box!! Then they told me I had to pay for return shipping AND a 30% restocking fee!!! That would be more than half of what I paid for the lamps!!! Now I am stuck with 2 extra lamps that I would rather break and throw away than spend so much to return them. I wanted to replace two large lamps on either side of the overstuffed couch in my den. I ordered these lamps because they are the right height (30 inches) but the website didn't give the dimensions of the base, just the height and the shade dimensions (15 x 15) although I didn't realize that at the time I ordered them. The base is only 6 inches across which meant the scale of the lamps was wrong to sit on either side of my overstuffed couch. HOWEVER, I liked them SO MUCH I found another place in the house to put them (in the sitting area of my master bedroom). The shades are exactly the color they appear to be on the website and they are made of microfiber giving them a nice texture and you definitely can't beat the price.

Even for the cheap price it is just ok. I should have paid just a little more for a nicer one. It looks and feels cheap, but does match the design of my other outdoor lights and it is already hung up, so I will keep it. Hoping it breaks soon so I can buy a nicer one!

I need to qualify my review. I bought two of these listed as "Used-Good." I received one and installed it. The other is still in transit. I'll review it separately if necessary. I knew I was taking a chance, but the price was only $13.46 each, shipping included. How could I go wrong? My existing porch lamps were old and showing that rust that comes through brass plating. This unit is described as "solid brass." It says so on the lamp on a tag attached. Another tag indicates a "Lifetime Warranty" on electrical parts only, not on the finish. This lamp looks new! I can't find a mark on it. Two small brass cap nuts were not included. These nuts are used to fasten the entire lamp to the wall mounting. I bought some plated ones at Lowes. I flipped the switch and on came my new great looking porch lamp. What a deal! I hope I can say it again when my other lamp arrives.

Update: The second lamp came in without any damage and it had a hardware pack for installation. The pack included brass cap nuts.

Originally I ordered 2 of these lights. They arrived in an Amazon box with the original product packaging inside. These units are made in China, and the original packaging looks like its been through a war. The packaging is also very flimsy, and in my opinion for a delicate item like this is totally inadequate.

Amazon promptly replaced the damaged unit, and I received another that is damaged even worse that the previous one.

So I am returning both units today for a refund. In my opinion, Amazon should drop Quoizel as a vendor and stop taking any orders as long as they keep sending inadequate and severely damaged packaging and product.

I have hundreds of previous orders with Amazon and this is by far the worst product packaging issue I have had. Amazon has been very prompt and courteous with the returns, but overall I think they would do better to weed out vendors of this quality.

I'm going back to Amazon to search for new lights, but definely not from Quoizel.

The lamp looks great and provides plenty of light. However, after I had used the lamp for the first night I had it (it was on for 2-3 hours), the following morning the shade had shattered. Presumably this happened because the shade (made from glass) couldn't handle the heat from the lamp, and shattered as it cooled down overnight. I had followed the manufacturer's instructions when assembling the lamp, and the pieces were all intact when the lamp was delivered.

This lamp blended in beautifully with the rest of the table/countertop light fixtures throughtout the house (frosted glass, stainless steel finish). It's well constructed and perfectly balanced regardless of the position into which the gooseneck is tilted. The on/off switch is thoughtfully set in the base, making for a stable operation. After shopping the web and almost giving up, this was just what I was looking for!

Cheap Mitsubishi 99105 - 915B403001 Projector Light Bulb

Our TV suddenly started getting much darker. We even upped the brightness and moved from the "natural" setting to the "brilliant" setting. It was starting to look over exposed and still too dark. We knew we needed a new bulb and thus ordered this one.

The replacement process was very simple. We had to undo 3 screws to get the old bulb out and then replace the light bulb. The new bulb even came with a much better version of 2 of the 3 original screws. You should use this opportunity while behind your TV to vacuum up all the accumulated dust and clean all the vents on the back of your TV. Make sure to vacuum the recess where this light housing goes.

The new bulb works great. We are back to the "natural" setting and 50% brightness setting. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the new bulb takes around a minute to come to full brightness. Our original bulb was at full brightness much faster than that; maybe 10 seconds.

I couldn't believe the price. This vendor was very professional and the bulb works perfect. When I bought this TV I almost passed on it because I had heard that DLP bulbs were a problem and extremely expensive. This price was great and I just hope when this bulb goes out again I can find this vendor on Amazon again.

Lamps don't last more than six months. Luckily I bought a backup. Unluckily they both burned out too soon. Next time I will be buying from TV manufacturer.
