I bought three of these Quoizel ML182AUL Melon Lights. Materials and workmanship are very good and all parts were present. However, assembling the parts into the fixture while installing them on the ceiling was a bit of a nightmare, as I did not have four hands or an assistant and could never figure out how to get one lockwasher to defy gravity and move into place. Be that as it may, once on the ceiling the lamps looked great. Metal finish, glass appearance, etc.--all very nice indeed.

Then a couple of months later I looked up and saw one of the glass shades was cracked from the center hole to the rim. No problem, I thought, as it is still under warranty. Well, not really. Quoizel did respond to my inquiry about a replacement shade, but charged me for it.

Why did the shade crack? My hypothesis is that a standard A19 light bulb is a very tight fit in these lights. So, I think the heat from the bulb in close proximity to the glass cracked the shade, even though the bulb was less than the maximum wattage. I've since substituted smaller, A15 bulbs to provide some clearance. I sure hope this stops the shades from cracking! By the way, nothing about using A15s was mentioned in the instructions.

In sum, for quality materials and appearance (when not cracked) I give these lamps 5 stars. For ease of assembly 2 stars. For Quoizel customer service 3 stars. Final rating 4 stars.

I have had the Madison Italian Bronze floor lamp for a few days and every single person from bldg. super to friend have made a unsolicited positive comments about the lamp. It is well made, sturdy, and stylish. The only change I would have made if I could would be to go from 150 watts to 250 watts but a great lamp nonetheless.

This lamp is so beautiful and arrived only two days after I ordered it. It is exactly what I was looking for... it has a handsome study base with beautiful warm cheery colored wood, and the light coming through the shade is warm and lovely. It is a nice traditional style and would fit with a variety of decor. It is perfectly proportioned and easy to use. I am using it as a bedside lamp. Delivered on time, and the unique look that matches basketmaker's kitchen decor. Competitor's weave design was discontinued. Like the flexibilty of this one, even though we assembled pretty much as shown. The spiral weave decoration is actually a separate piece with male thread on each end of a four inch insert. You get 2 six inch rods and 2 twelve inch rods with female threads on each end. So, the shortest length of a pendand is 16 inches. Since we wanted to hang 3 of pendants at 3 different lengths, this wasn't really as close to the ceiling as we hoped. So, I cut one end off of an unused rod and made a close nipple out of it. Worked well. Love them the way installed. If Dolan provided a single one inch "rod" connector it would have been the perfect pendant.

The Georgian finish comes with amber glass globes that tone down the light and give a rich look, perfect for dining. Glad we decided not to go with the brushed metal finish.

I have one of these in my living room, I filled it with potpourri. I am now looking for instructions on how to tighten it down again. The lamp works fine but became disconnected both on the top and bottom. Never really tightened right to begin with, but was okay. The cord twists and then unscrews the base.

I hope you have better luck with this. I bought mine at target on sale for 25.00, so it's not like I'm out 100.00

First lamp was very difficult to get apart to fill and second was very easy, need directions with product. If your going to try to fill with a little sand, don't bother leaks out when putting together and scratches base. Looks great with just shells and bamboo flowers

Best Deals for Glass and Steel Cylinder Fillable Table Lamp

We have a nice collection of beautiful rocks that we collected over time and polished but had no way to display them. This lamp was the perfect solution to show off these rocks. The filled lamp looks both natural and modern along with our wood furniture and floors. The lamp materials are a bit flimsy, but not noticeably so.
