i bought this to light up my yard on my varmint rifle. i have it mounted on my 10/22 and can CLEARLY see our barn (which is about 100' from the house). this plus my scope, and i can drive tacks at night from 50 yards. i was a bit weary about this light given the price, but i'm not disappointed AT ALL. it's ridiculously bright, good LED lamp, solid metal construction. if you're curious about it, buy it. you'll love it.

I purchased these lamps from visiondecor.com directly, but they do not allow anyone to review unreviewed items, even members (very curious indeed). After many lies, excuses, broken promises; I received my order after 38 days. The box packing (inside and out)was some of the best I have ever seen from anyone. Past that, the product was very poor. I really like the idea of the lamps, but the execution as a product is appalling. The paint on the product looks like it was done in a 5th grade art class, many unpainted spots, painted spots with the wrong color, scratches, paint drips (I'm not kidding, at the base there are dried drips). The shade is not a reddish color as the pictures indicate, it is a brown. It is a very thin cloth which upon examination shows that it will not last very long and will burn and rip (from bulb heat). The main lighting stem is crooked and cannot be bent straight, about a 10-15 degree deviation from vertical. The top screw down decorative piece for the shade is set crooked, about a 35 degree deviation from vertical and will not screw flat to secure the shade from movement. The shade supporting snap in bars are very VERY thin, they wobble, shake, and rattle around. If you blow hard at the shade itself, it will sway and shake because of this. Look somewhere else if you are looking for something decent, this is not even close. I was not expecting anything fantastic and perfect, but for the price, this product should be much better. I am in the process of sending these back. This is an unbiased review, I am not nit picking; just stating the facts. (:

I like these lamps and they were a very good price on sale. The shades come collapsed and that leaves wrinkles, but I thought I could iron them out (or steam). The beading around the bottom of the shade is a bit flimsy, but over all I think that I got a good deal and I like the way they look.

I really like this light's simple, modern look. For the price it is well made, though you can tell it isn't a high-end light if you look at it closely and handle it, but no one will ever do that once it's on the wall. I had never done any kind of electrical work before whatsoever and I manged to install this by myself. The instructions are pretty good. I do wish I'd had someone there to hold up the light for me while I connected the wires. Juggling that heavy light was by far the most difficult part of the job. My only complaint about this light is that the color of the shade is very inaccurate. It is described as "slate gray" and definitely looks gray in this photo. I really wonder if I was shipped the wrong light because my shade is clearly a sandy linen color. Not at all a cool gray. I decided the linen color was fine and used it anyway. I've had the light up for months now and it is working and looking great!

This is a very attractive light, unobtrusively illuminating large items. It has a few drawbacks, however.

First, the mounting system lacks versatility and stability...one of mine is actually reinforced with tape, to be sure it stays up!

Second, the set-screw which stabilizes the rotation of the lamp can easi;ly dissappear into the lamp base if the lamp is not held UP onto the arm while tightening.

Third, it gets very hot, and I can find no guarantees that the light-type will not fade valuable artwork.

Fourth, there is little adjustment for height vis-a-vis the picture, and none for distance.

Fifth, the packaging and instructions do not mention the bulb-type needed for replacement.

On the plus side, it has the good looks just mentioned, as well as a very long neutral-colored cord.

I ordered 3 of these lights from warehouse deals and when they arrived I got 3 different lights one was Multicolored like pictured and just what I expected, the other two were both different one was almost all red the other was red with a couple of black or dark blue stripes in it. Contacted Amazon and they did make a good offer to correct the problem offering 50% credit but not what I really wanted. I suggested that they let me keep the one light and sent the other two back and I would order two more from the regular Amazon store not Warehouse Deals. They never replied to that offer. I suggest Customer Service try asking the customer... What would make you happy? I wound up taking their offer but now I have 5 lights and I only really need 3, I only hope the two I have on order come and are like the ones pictured on the website. I think the two I got that were wrong were returns to Amazon because they didn't look like the ones on the website that's how they wound up in Warehouse deals. I like the idea of warehouse deals if it is only an open box in good condition, but I think they should make sure it is the correct item. I will update if the two coming from Amazon are correct items.

No issues. Instant on/off, and decent light for price. I've replaced my indoor and outdoor light bulbs. Will have impact on bill as these were my heavily used lights. Couple of bulbs came in defective and the seller replaced them expeditiously, and without any charge (shipping or restocking). I wish there were more choices of bulb sizes as I would be a buyer.

I have had this lamp for about 3 months and I love it. I use it on the table next to my bed to read while my wife sleeps next to me. No more getting yelled at for waking her! The base is heavy enough to make it quite stable in all positions except "fully extended." The length of the gooseneck is such that it can easily reach my book from the night stand and the light is well focused so it lights primarily the book with minimal room light. Because it is an LED lamp, there is no heat generated as with the old high intensity reading lamps. The only possible improvement would be a control to vary the level of light rather than just off/on. Well constructed should provide years of service.

This LED lamp is just want I was looking for. The gooseneck is flexible enough to position the way I want, but stiff enough to hold its position. It is long enough to put beside my 24" monitor and arch over it to illuminate the desk work area without glaring in my eyes or on the screen. It was delivered on time .. in perfect condition .. and so far I have had no problems with it. Highly recommended.

I've been using this as an auxiliary bedside lamp for about 6 months, and I love it. In fact, I just came back to the website, hoping to find the same exact lamp in a floor model, and that's when I decided to write a brief review. I LOVE the fact that it has a weighted base, so it doesn't tip over when you adjust the extended gooseneck. When I say "auxiliary"light, what I mean is: It's fairly bright on its own, but I must admit that I often use it in combination with another LED lamp because I prefer an extra bright light for reading. In hot weather, I also like the fact that it stays perfectly cool. I love to read, but when it's hot out, I don't like having a hot reading light burning down on me, so the coolness of the LED light is a big plus. You can touch it after it's been on for an hour or more, and it will still be cool. So that also indicates that it's using very little electricity.

When you buy an LED Lamp it is hard to evaluate just how suitable it will be compared to the halogen or incandescent night table or regular lamp fixture you may be replacing. LEDs are oftentimes less bright or have a narrower beam. When we tried out this night table LED lamp it does have a somewhat narrower beam than the light fixture it replaced but the LED fixture is very bright and does cast out a beam that is superior to the lamp it replaced. The flexible lamp stem also allows you to configure the lamp in an infinite number of configurations, much more versatile compared to the old fixture. Also, our old fixture as typical of night table lamps oftentimes have bulbs that are less common and sometimes hard to find a replacement, whereas the LED not only uses a fraction of the wattage but the LEDs will probably never need replacement since their bulblife is so long compared to halogen and incandescent bulbs. Highly recommend this reading lamp for night table use. It would probably also be suitable as a desk lamp.

I've had this lamp for three months now. It's good at doing the job I want it for (reading in bed without keeping my wife awake), and on the whole, I'm happy with it.

Be aware that this is very much a "task light," not a room lamp. It provides very bright light in a small and highly-adjustable area, which makes it good for reading, or for illuminating a desktop; but it won't light up the room. (For me, that's a feature I want-just be aware of it).

Also, be aware that (like a lot of LEDs) it's a very "cool" light-very white, almost bluish. Some people may like that; personally, I'd prefer something a bit warmer.

Pros:

Very intense light

Stays cool

Nice long neck that's highly adjustable, and is stiff enough

Toggle switch on the base is easy to operate

However, the lamp has a few design issues that I don't like, so I can only give it four stars.

Cons:

The base isn't really heavy enough. It doesn't tip over... but it moves around when I adjust the light up and down (which I do a lot-bring it down when I want to read in bed, push it up out of the way when I'm not using it). This would be less of a problem if it were a desk lamp that mostly stayed in the same position. I wish the base were about three times as heavy. I solved the problem by getting a little C-clamp and clamping it down to the tabletop (the base is shaped nicely for that), but it seems silly that I should have to do that.

Poor lens design. There's a clear plastic lens that covers the LEDs. Instead of being recessed flush in the metal lamp head, it protrudes from the surface, and a lot of light leaks out through the side edges. This means that I get a lot of direct-from-the-lamp glare in my eyes when I'm trying to read (I want it to shine on the book, not in my eyes). It's eye-straining and highly annoying. I solved this by getting a couple of strips of black electrical tape (which is extremely opaque) and covering the sides of the lens... but I shouldn't have to do that.

The cone of light coming out is too broad, so I have to adjust the light position carefully if I don't want glare in my eyes. A sharper-edged, more focused light distribution would be friendlier.

The lamp is designed such that the light comes out at a right angle to the neck of the lamp. I've had other flexible-neck lamps that shone straight out from the end of the neck, and found that arrangement to be much more convenient in positioning the light where I want it.

I bought this for my girls in Dec 2012. When it came it was scratched and covered in dirt-actual dirt. Many of the plastic crystals were broken and all the replacement parts were all broken. My girls liked the look of the lamp, so I was willing to over look the lack of quality if I could get new replacemnet parts. I e-mailed the seller asking for them and never heard back. Other comparable lights usually come with three dials that is adjustable for sensitivity, darkness, length of light intervals . They are not reliable or easy to tamper with . This one comes without any dials and is automatic from day one. All you need to do is mount it and it charges up until it is ready to go. It is a smart device that gives no hassle ! It only turns on for a minute and add another minute if necessary when motion is still detected . I mounted it rather high at about 12 foot level and the motion sensor needs to be redesigned to be more broadly senstive vertically (up and down) I still think that the motion sensor is technologically dated because it has been the same for decades.. Cant someone come up with a better and smarter motion sensor ?? It has its lmits which irritrates me somewhat. I test it by walking around at all angles and find blind spots even with my arms waving. Maybe extra motioin sensors can be added to narrow down the angle and increase senstivity in parallel or something. I could appreciate 360 degree motion sensors sometimes. as well as upwardly and downwardly. Engineers have to be more creative instead of droning on..

I purchased this unit for the side of my house where there is not much lighting for security purposes. I wanted a light that would discourage people from cutting through my yard, but would not annoy my neighbors every time a rabbit ran passed.

This light does not have a sensitivity control, but senses a persons movement perfectly but does not go off many times a night due to animals or moving trees and shrubs.

The light is not as bright as a unit I purchased at my local Lowe's that is powered through my home's electrical power, but it is definitely bright enough to scare any unwanted visitors and helps my wife see who or what is outside the kitchen window if needed.
