The fan itself is fine, but the BULB SOCKETS ARE TINY. I was all set to put in my energy-saver compact fluorescent bulbs when I discovered they wouldn't fit, nor will normal bulbs. The fan comes with 3 flame-shaped bulbs fitted to tiny sockets. Did I miss this info here? It's also not on Hunter's own page and PDFs for this model.

I had a 42" Harbor Breeze fan in my guest bedroom for about 3 years. Unfortunately, this fan started to make a really loud humming noise (clearly a sign the motor was starting to fail). The fan was a cheap fan so this time, I decided to spend a little more. Anyone who's purchased a fan knows the Hunter brand. They make quality products and stand behind their product. I checked my local Home Depot and Lowes and found this exact model, only it was $150-160 as compared to $92 on Amazon (for the white model). I went home, found it on Amazon and ordered it. Two days later, it arrived and we installed it shortly after. The installation was not very difficult. The fan has three speeds that are adjusted with a pull chain. I was a little surprised that the fan didn't include an extension pull chain but other than that, the fan works great! It sure is WhisperQuiet. It moves air really well and has been a big improvement over our old fan.

Highly recommend this fan to anyone looking for a quality 42" fan for their home.

I purchased Hunter 20436 Beacon Hill Three-Light 42-Inch Five-Blade Ceiling Fan, White with Frosted Globes and I purchased the Hunter Fan 27185 Light Remote Control also. I had these installed by a professional. The time was about an hour ( and $50) and both units work great. It is nice to be able to turn the light on without getting up or turning the fan speed higher or lower from my wheelchair. The fan is so quiet at first I would look to see that it was working. Hunter most likely builds thre Best fan money can buy. I will always purchase the remote when buying a new fan as it works well also. Both were delivered from Amazon in good condition and I got 2 day shipping. Thanks,Amazon.

Nice looking small ceiling fan. Flushmount was lower profile than other fans I looked at, which was a major selling point for me. Two of the included bulbs were broken in their boxes. There is a number to call to get replacements, but we chose to install candelabra base CFLs. We have 5 Hunter fans in our house and no problems.

I really like this light's simple, modern look. For the price it is well made, though you can tell it isn't a high-end light if you look at it closely and handle it, but no one will ever do that once it's on the wall. I had never done any kind of electrical work before whatsoever and I manged to install this by myself. The instructions are pretty good. I do wish I'd had someone there to hold up the light for me while I connected the wires. Juggling that heavy light was by far the most difficult part of the job. My only complaint about this light is that the color of the shade is very inaccurate. It is described as "slate gray" and definitely looks gray in this photo. I really wonder if I was shipped the wrong light because my shade is clearly a sandy linen color. Not at all a cool gray. I decided the linen color was fine and used it anyway. I've had the light up for months now and it is working and looking great!

After agonizing about whether to spend so much money on a single pendant light, I went for it. No regrets! The lamp looks absolutely beautiful all lit up. The sole reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the "grout" lines (for lack of a better description) between tiles are much more prominent than depicted in the picture. Hence, the lamp has a bit more of a more rustic look than I expected. But I love it nonetheless and even got a second one.

For anyone curious if you want to buy down-rods for this fan you have to special order them for Lowe's or Home Depot it requires a 1/2" diameter down-rod....the standard ones sold at Lowe's/HD are 3/4". Also although the specs say that this fan can be mounted in multi positions the hardware included does not allow it to be mounted on a vaulted ceiling I had to purchase a seperate mounting canopy so that it could be mounted on my vaulted ceiling. The fan is quite and seems to work well at the highest speed it really gets moving and pushes a lot of air around.

We were looking for a more modern design fan to go in the baby's room and decided to give this one a try. The fan itself has been working well for almost a year now, no undue noise or issues. It's actually quieter than other fans in our house that cost 2-3x's as much. My only complaint would be the desire for a remote or a dimming function, but for the price, it's a great little fan.

These lights are great. They are not yellowish like some. They are white and let out a white, clean clear light into the room. They seem to be well made. These match the previous set of lights model and if they are any indication they should last a while. The other lights (same model) lasted at least 2 year that I am aware.

These bulbs are difficult to find, not at the hardware stores. I needed them to replace bulbs at work. Special ECO-friendly and very bright white fixtures and bulbs were installed free by the electric company a few years ago at my store, they really made the store brighten up, the only problem is the bulbs and the ballasts can't be found at hardware stores. These are the exact replacement bulbs and are much whiter and brighter than the standard bulbs at the hardware stores, which appear dull and yellowish in comparison.

I needed a long light strip to use over a large mirror in a bathroom. This unit fits the bill perfectly. The metal finish looks fine and matches other brushed nickel finishes in the vanity and towel racks.

This is the second of these light fixtures that I have ordered. The metal of the fixtures is fairly flimsy and both of the fixtures arrived bent and beat up. I returned the first one and reordered. No luck, this one is probably more bent up than the first one. Unfortunately, I had to keep the second, as I needed to complete the bathroom refit, even temporarily. I managed to bend this thing into shape to get it to hang on the wall, but it's coming down as soon as I find a suitable replacement. Will not order Kichler fixtures again.

The light is very large. I live in a condo and it is perfect for the living room. The lamps highest point stands about 7 feet high. The actual round head of the lamp bends over and stands about 5 feet high. I currently have a 60 watt bulb in it and the light floods the room. I believe 150 watt would be pretty strong. The head of the lamp is much larger looking than the photo. It is about the size of one of those metal heaters you see ladies sitting under to get a perm, it also looks like one. Love it for the price. The marble is nice and heavy, unfortunately mine had a tiny gouge in it. Great light same quality of those 2, 3, 4X's the price.

If you want an elegant, high gloss, chrome arc lamp with an lovely sweeping arc and a large shade-this is not that lamp. The lamp has a BRUSHED finish not a CHROME finish (as the description states), the arc is not elegant and the shade is MUCH smaller than the lamp sold by stores like Dania. The base of the lamp screws with threads into the arc but the threads are very tiny and the arc is wobbly. I am sorry I did not buy the lamp locally where I could see what I was getting. Altogether this purchase was a big mistake.

Very attractive lamp which looks slightly art deco to me. Excellent source of light takes 2 x 100 watt bulbs. Looks sophisticated. I've given 4 stars rather than 5 because the shade was dented in a few places due to insufficient packaging. This was also the case with the matching floor lamp I bought previously. Fortunately, in both cases, the dents were not too major and only on one side, so you can just turn the shade around, so they're not visible. I'd definitely recommend these lamps they're well packaged (apart from the shade) and arrived promptly too.

I would have given this purchase five stars, but the lampshade arrived slightly dinged in a few spots--not badly enough to bother returning (especially considering the discount), but a little disappointing.
