Bought the light. Just what I was looking for. Installed easily. Configuration was a pain, just as the other reviews say, but I was OK with that. The light worked great, until it rained. Then it stopped working because the little box which houses the motion sensor FILLED UP WITH WATER! Odd that it was not sealed, even though it is an outdoor fixture. I'll be returning it.

Update 02/12/2012:

If you have a florescent ballast or light on same circuit sometimes turning the florescent fixture on or off will trigger the lights. This gets annoying and false positives mean the neighbors are less likely to peek out when it comes on late at night.

Living in Texas and with the unit kept dry under an awning the entire time it was outdoors the unit is starting to suffer a short in one of the lamp sockets. Otherwise the 2 units I purchased have held up quite well. One unit has power 24/7/365 and is still in perfect working order. The other I cut off during the day and it has the faults listed above with the one dead fixture.

4 complaints. 1 is that the little knobs you turn to adjust the settings are small and it's hard to read the indicators printed next to them. 2 is that the unit I received is not bronze, it's BLACK. 3 I should have bought one with a wider range of detection but that is my fault not fault of the product. 4 This item is not 100% waterproof. When I go to repair it later I will cut up some old rubber gloves and make this thing truly weather tight. Still pleased with the product given the price though! Might not be best product for those who do not like to tinker.

Instructions were good and the mounting hardware included was much better than the (non-existent) hardware that ships with the 110 degree version. Love the photovoltaic sensor, now I don't have to remember to turn off the lights each morning. Spend a little time getting the settings just right before you review this item or give up on it.

I'm always wary of 5-star reviews. But what can I say? The thing was easy to install, worked perfectly right away, and has all the features I wanted. Mysteriously, none of my local mom-and-pop or big box hardware stores stocked anything like this with a motion detector, which is why I went Amazon on it.

All in all, no complaints.

This is seriously a waste of money. I bought it last year and after a month or two, it would always stay on. So then I wrote to amazon to inform them of this issue (thinking that I got a defective product). Amazon is always the best! They sent out replacement right away. The replacement worked fine until the first heavy rain. Now the sensor looks like it had been submerged into water and again no matter how much i try to adjust the knobs (ya, that's another pain point); it's staying on. That just means its pretty much useless once again!

Update: I called the warranty department last week and left a voice message, but they haven't returned my call back yet. (They mention in their message that they will return the call in 1 business day). Anyway, its frustrating to deal with this anymore. Please don't buy this one, if you want peace of mind.

I really like this light's simple, modern look. For the price it is well made, though you can tell it isn't a high-end light if you look at it closely and handle it, but no one will ever do that once it's on the wall. I had never done any kind of electrical work before whatsoever and I manged to install this by myself. The instructions are pretty good. I do wish I'd had someone there to hold up the light for me while I connected the wires. Juggling that heavy light was by far the most difficult part of the job. My only complaint about this light is that the color of the shade is very inaccurate. It is described as "slate gray" and definitely looks gray in this photo. I really wonder if I was shipped the wrong light because my shade is clearly a sandy linen color. Not at all a cool gray. I decided the linen color was fine and used it anyway. I've had the light up for months now and it is working and looking great!

When I bought this product I thought it was a wall switch with remote extension. But when it arrived, it is actually one piece that may be controlled by Lutron remote switch and also can be controlled by the attached switch (looks just like the wall switch by Lutron -thus the confusion)

You can still pair it with a Lutron wireless remote and that part worked flawlessly.

After some comparing of various retailers, e-tailers, end ebay offers, I went ahead and bought this one. Arrived quickly, looks really great, and was fairly easy to assemble/install.

I was able to put it up on my own, but I would recommend having a second person helping to hold the fixture while you connect the wires and tighten the nut.

The glass globes look nice, compared to a cheaper fake alabaster fixture I purchased for another bathroom. They point down which I like more light where you need it. Compared to the cheapo 6-8 bulb standard fixtures that mostly blind you. The room will seem a bit darker overall, directional lighting at its finest.

I installed 4 Toshiba 7W 3500K LED bulbs in the fixture, nice neutral, flicker-free, instant on light.

Of course you need to see if the style fits with the rest of your bathroom design. If it does, this fixture is a great choice.

We purchased our first home two years ago and had minor cosmetic details to address immediately to feel at peace with our 'fixer.' Among these details were replacing every last lighting firxture in the dated home and what an improvement that small enhancement made! This fixture gave our guest bathroom a very expensive look on our 'just-gave-all-my-money-to-my-downpayment' budget. The actual look is so much better than the picture. It really doesn't look like there is a great circle in the middle of the bar of lights. Remember, you'll be looking up at this piece and while I hesitated at first, I decided I couldn't loose with this since it was only going in our guest bathroom and am so, so pleased with how it looks. The fixture doesn't give you much space between the lights and the wall, so if you have a framed mirror in your bathroom, the lights will have to hang above it. We tore down the cheap mirror that came with the house and bought a much nicer framed one the same size at HomeGoods, but had to return the first one we bought because it was too large and the frame couldn't fit under the lights. The smaller mirror paired with the fixture actaully looks perfect. For us, all the fixtures we bought through Royce lighting and Amazon.com were budget friendly and look much more expensive than they actually were.

This product is super heavy duty, easy to install, extremely bright and has a senor range much greater than advertised. I live in an apartment on the ground floor with a large fenced patio-garden area over loooking a lake. However, there is a side walk between the lake and my fence. So people can see everything on my patio of value whenever they walk by. Some kids had been stealing items from my and other people patios and I needed some sort of deterent. Well since installung this over a month ago I havent had anyone comming near my or more adjacent neighbors patios. It really freaks people out because it tracks them with that bright lught as they walk by giving them the impression that they are being watched. It actuall detects an adult within about 35ft but doesnt detect my 25lb dog at all.

After lengthy research, I choose this light to place on the front of my home facing the street and I'm glad I did!

It works exactly as described. We've had some less then undesirable neighbors move in the neighborhood and this light is exactly what we needed. Not only does it have extensive ability to detect motion from quite a distance, it follows the "heated" movement! LOVE IT! And and extra plus it that the bright red infra-light that glows in the base, appears to others as a "VIDEO CAM"!!! No more slugs hanging in the street in-front of my home...they briskly walk by..the light POPS ON THEM and it FOLLOWS THEM until they gone!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!

I purchased and installed one of these units (Nightwatcher robotic PIR halogen security light) around two years ago. The mounting bracket is square. When you purchase a square weatherproof outside connection box from your local hardware store, you find it doesn't fit. Counter-intuitively, the square bracket fits a round box. But I'm not really satisfied with the seal. I cannot imagine that it is perfectly weatherproof.

My next complaint is that the unit has no adjustment for how long the energy hogging halogen lamp stays on. A car will pass and the unit turns in the direction of the now empty street and illuminates for a full three minutes. If the company was going to build the unit without time adjustment, it should have shipped (like most other PIR security lights) with a default of one minute.

Of course, if the unit had a sensitivity adjustment, which it doesn't, I might be able to decrease the sensitivity to passing vehicles. (BTW, the passing vehicles are 100 plus feet away and 90 degrees to the side).

On the plus side, I took some epoxy and glued the head of a 1/4" cap screw to the top of the light. I then mounted to the screw a small (12 IR LED) security camera. Works good except the unit spends more time facing the empty area where movement was first detected instead of resetting to the default position. I reiterate, the unit needs adjustment settings for time and sensitivity.

The motion detector is quite sensitive, because of the robotics it detects any movement on our back yard which is 40ft deep.

I love this to light the back yard for our dogs when they go out at night. It took a couple of days for the battery to charge up in the weak sun of my locale, and often does not work after a few rainy days due to the lack of light. Mine broke due to a strong wind. See photos I posted. The cheap plastic in the pivot hinge broke. I fixed it with duct tape. I would recommend the manufacturer look into stronger materials or larger pivot hinge that will not break with above average wind. If it were not for the ease of breaking I would have given it five stars.

I gave 3 stars for this product since the first one I installed about one year ago did not pass the rains during winter and stoped working. I found water inside the lamp but since it is good lamp after all I decided to buy second one but this time keep it out of the rain. I hope the next winter will be with light rain . This time I will cover the lamp and will update my review.

The price on this unit is pretty good for what you get. However, the solar collector unit is poorly designed. There is no tensioning screw on the ball hinge, so the collector panel does not stay in place at an angle facing skyward. The added weight of the cable that is wire-tied to the solar collector (at the manufacturer's recommendation) only makes this worse.

Got this for my folks the Philippines. It works perfectly! Even if it only gets direct sunlight after lunch (because of the shadow cast by the house in the morning), it serves its purpose to light the garage at night.

Only comment is the sensor should have been better if its on a ball-type adjustment. it only moves horizontally. Nonetheless, im happy with the energy and light capacity.I'll definitely buy some more.

I had seen the lamp at a department store and looked online and found it much cheaper at Amazon. The lamp box arrived like it had been on a shelf for years, very, very dusty. After unpacking, i found three or four of the circles in the box, no longer stuck to the lamp. Rather than send it back, I used hot glue to glue them back where they came off. After repairing, I have it in my wet bar area and it looks very nice.

It's very flimsy, but several I have seen or tried in this price category were also flimsy. I could deal with that except for the fact that the kit includes old-tech T-12 bulbs instead of the newer, brighter T5 bulbs. The lights are not as bright. Also, one of the bulbs flickered and no amount of tinkering would stop it. Then, the bulb went completely dark. A few days later, it came on again. The ends of the bulbs are dark and so you don't get good light for the entire lengths of the bulbs. I would have rated this 4 stars if it included the better T5 bulbs. I don't remember seeing the type of bulb in the description. If it was there, then it's my fault for buying it in the first place!

The first fixture I received was DOA. I switched the bulbs and starters. I even opened it up to make sure all the wires were connected it just would not work. What irritated me was that the instruction sheet reads: "All fixtures are tested prior to shipping." They do not give a phone number or email address to contact if you have any problems. I got an RMA from Amazon and they sent a replacement which is working well. Tip: The carton is sealed with heavy-duty staples. You can easily rip the carton trying to open it. Be careful and remove the staples with pliers, just in case you have to return it.

... but not as good as the one I bought from Park's in 1991 or 1992, which lasted about 20 years. This one is also not as elegant as the old one, nor as stable. The word that came to my mind after I had assembled it was "rickety." I doubt that it will last 20 years but, then, I probably won't either. So, for people like me (no children and no cats or other pets) it serves its purpose. I am using it to display houseplants. It comes with two Sylvania T12 Gro-Lux tubes. It has an on/off switch so that you don't have to unplug it when you want it off. Also, it is silent; I mention this because I have a jump-start lamp (bought three or four years ago) that I use for tomato seedlings, in a spare room, and that one has a constant hum. This one does not.

I needed some sort of cooling in my shop/building and this fan fit my needs. It's cheap, white in color, moves a lot of air, and to boot comes with a lifetime warranty!

Installation was a breeze. Screw the "J" hook assembly to the electrical box, hook the rubber bushing thats on the down rod of the fan onto the "J" hook, wire it up and you're done! And the nice thing about how it installed was that the rubber bushing that sits on the J hood reduces vibrations and noise caused by the fan being on.

After I had it installed I really didn't like how low it was hanging down from the ceiling... again not a problem. I took it down, removed the down rod from the motor assembly (by removing two nuts and bolts), cut the down rod in half, put it all back together and it looks like it had always been that way.

The only complaint I have is that the speed control that comes with the fan is hideously ugly, huge, and beige. So instead of using it's speed control I bought the Hunter 27181 four speed slide control switch and it seems to be working great (all though I'm hesitant on the quality of the switch).

Great fan (for the price I paid), installed in a snap, looks good, moves air!

Pros:

Cheap.

Installed with NO issues whatsoever.

Modification to the down rod (to move the fan closer to the ceiling) was super easy.

Cons:

Quality seems good enough, though I'm always skeptical for as cheap as it is.

Bought two for a church building. Wanted both controlled by 1 switch so I contacted the manufacturer to see if that was okay (since they use this massive wall speed switch). After consulting their "engineer" they said it should be okay. So, I wired everything up and it worked great. Until, one night I left the fans running overnight. The next morning they were running full-speed (I left them on low). The wall-switch wouldn't control them anymore. Removing the switch, I discovered it had melted inside. So, I swapped it out for the other remaining switch. A couple months later the same thing happened. Not sure if this would happen running just one or not, but from my perspective the product wasn't durable. Plus, it is VERY loud on high.

UPDATE: My local home supply company provided me 2 replacement fans, even though the problem was not theirs. When I installed these fans I went ahead and wired them to operate individually. It's been over a year and I have had no problems. So, I guess the main problem is installing them linked together to 1 control.
