this lamp looks great in my living room looks much more expencive than what I paid for. The only issue I vae with it is that the dome is 2 pieces and not one which is a little strange but still looks great!

i bought this to light up my yard on my varmint rifle. i have it mounted on my 10/22 and can CLEARLY see our barn (which is about 100' from the house). this plus my scope, and i can drive tacks at night from 50 yards. i was a bit weary about this light given the price, but i'm not disappointed AT ALL. it's ridiculously bright, good LED lamp, solid metal construction. if you're curious about it, buy it. you'll love it.

I like much of my indoor lights to be daylight (i.e. 5000K color temperature) and had not found a good one until this bulb. Most CFL's are slow to start or have a lot of visiable flicker. This one has neither of those problems and like all LED lights it is energy efficient and instant on.

The big negative is the price. If it were not for that I'd give it 5 stars.

This light is extremely bright. I instilled it in my garage to replace another bulb. They claim it should replace a 75 watt bulb. I think it could replace a 300 watt halogen bulb. I have a 1 car garage and this bulb lights every square inch of the garage very well. The light is very bright but not harsh. It disperses very nicely for a flood light. I highly recommend the Daylight white version of this bulb. It is much brighter that the soft white version and uses the same power and cost the same.

I installed this chandelier in an afternoon. Although the instructions aren't the greatest, I was able to follow them and I was replacing another chandelier, so some of the items, like the hanging bar in the electrical box, was already installed, which made things easier. Everything fit together well, with no rough or unfinished surfaces. The hardest part is opening and closing the steel links of the hanging chain having 2 vice grip pliers definitely helps for this unless you have a lot of arm strength. It does NOT come with the 12 candelabra bulbs required, so make sure to stop off at the home supply store and purchase these before you hang it up. Your bulbs must be under 60 watts/bulb. I installed 40 watt bulbs and it was plenty of light you probably can get by with 25 watt bulbs if you don't have a dimmer switch installed. Good value although I see the price has gone up a bit since my purchase. If you need a fairly inexpensive, classic brass chandelier for a dining room, you can't get much better than this for the money. Save the $$'s for your furnishings no one will know you didn't spend $1000 for a fancy chandelier.

It's pretty and good quality, looks nice, but be forewarned that unlike some such lamps where the cord attaches through the bottom, with this one the cord attaches to the outside of the base, so there is definitely a front and back to the lamp. If you are facing the lamp with the cord going out the back, the lamp swings to your right only. Keep that in mind when you're deciding where you're going to put it. I have to return mine because of this.

+4 for looks, -1 for stability. I find it tips easily when you extend the arm completely. The base does not seem as heavy as the other Kichler lamps I have.

The lamp harp has a strange shape (compresses inside of the socket housing) and is not the usual post type with retaining ring. That makes replacing the harp to fit a CFL bulb difficult without using a socket extender. Why can't I find a 3 way extender anyway?

Quality is top notch though.

Update 7/8/2011: I did find some 3-way CFLs that fit perfectly. GE 47448 12/23/29-Watt CFL (50/100/150-Watt equivalent) Energy Smart Spiral 3-Way Light Bulb.

Received lamp well packed and in good condition. The finish is better described as ebony rather than bronze, though there is a faintly lighter hint of patina on edges. The shade is a pale champagne color. The base is weighted and very solid, so even with the swing arm extended, the lamp is stable.

This lamp looks great and feels well made. I was a little annoyed that it was black with a very subtle bronze edge not like the picture which appears to be rubbed bronze. It gives it a chess piece look.

I bought this to match my Harbor Breeze versions that are in two other rooms. Big mistake, the Harbor Breeze versions are whisper quiet while this has a very loud hum in when turned on. I put it in the tv room but it is just too loud for any quiet tv watching so I will be switching it for the one in the kids playroom. If you are buying this to match the Harbor Breeze in looks you will be ok. If you want the same whisper quiet performance, look elsewhere because this thing is loud....very loud.

Caution! Caution! When the lights burn out the glass LITERALLY EXPLODES sending shards in a 3-4 foot radius. I've had the fan for about a year and have had two of the lights explode over the breakfast table. At first we just thought it was a fluke, but yesterday the second light exploded over dinner. I had to trash all the food as there were glass shards EVERYWHERE. DONT BUY THIS FAN.

This fan looks great. However, the lights that come with it are far too bright. And when it runs at any speed there is a loud humming sound, coming from the motor I guess. I can't have it on when I'm sleeping at night because it's that loud. I'm not overly sensitive to noises.... I even sleep with the radio on quietly. But that loud repititious humming sound drives me crazy. Don't like this fan at all.

I was looking for a fan that had a contemporary look with the track lights. I put one in my 16 year old daughter's room and my 8 year old son. They both love them. This fan is perfect. It is fairly quiet and has an expensive look to it. Not too difficult to assemble. My only complaints are the lights are very spot specific so you have to spread them out to illuminate the whole room and they are very bright. Second complaint is the limited color choices.

Westinghouse lighting 7850500 It's ok it's a copy of the Hampton bay . Westinghouse it's missing a decorative cover on the neck of the fan the wholes to attach the decorative cover are there , horrible screws that my husband had to get his own ,the manual is not clear on the connecting the cables , we love the fan. But installing it is much longer then the original Hampton bay fan ,the lighting 3 lights are movable so you could turn it on your book shelf , your pictures or paintings , You better be good with installing things ,otherwise you"love it

The light fixture was delivered just before Hurricane Sandy hit the Jersey Shore, which was a good thing. Installation was a bit delayed due to the storm, but was fairly simple. Unfortunately when installing one of the side glass panels it cracked. Not sure if it was a defect in the glass or just uneven pressure from bending the metal holding tabs. Since my original light fixture pretty much fell apart on removal I didn't want to use Amazon's Return service. I contacted the seller Lighting & Locks using Amazon's website and received a response within an hour. I was asked to email a picture of the broken pane in the fixture, and then received a quick response back that they will be sending me a replacement glass panel. Now that's customer service and good to know that the seller stands behind its products!

SUGGESTIONS:

1) Be very careful bending the small metal tabs that hold the glass panels. As soon as each tab touches the glass STOP! The glass panels also need a little room for expansion from the heat.

2) Don't use the two small black acorn shaped nuts to fasten the fixture to the mounting brackets. Instead remove the two small hex nuts on the threaded screws, retighten the screws and then use these nuts to gently snug the fixture onto the mounting bracket. With the acorn nuts the fixture will hang loosely from the ceiling.....throw them away!

Great product for a fraction of the price of high-end competition.

I was a bit surprised at how much the honey opal glass cuts down on the illumination. However, rather than switching out the glass, I'm going with CFLs (100W incandescent equivalent) with a color temp of 3500K Halogen White (manufacturer/model no. TCP 48923). If you go this route, just remember that the MAX CFL wattage that you can use in an enclosed fixture like this is 23W.

Oh, and Blue Marble (the seller) ROCKS! Highly recommended. Had a problem with some of the glass broken on arrival, but the seller and the manufacturer (Vaxcel Lighting) stood behind their product, and shipped out replacement glass, no questions asked, by FedEx. That's awesome Customer Service!

purchased this for our old crafstman, and it looks great. light is made from actual glass, and is high quality for the price. i would definitely order again, since i looked at items in higher end lighting stores that were of the same quality but were twice as expensive.
