The fan itself is fine, but the BULB SOCKETS ARE TINY. I was all set to put in my energy-saver compact fluorescent bulbs when I discovered they wouldn't fit, nor will normal bulbs. The fan comes with 3 flame-shaped bulbs fitted to tiny sockets. Did I miss this info here? It's also not on Hunter's own page and PDFs for this model.

I had a 42" Harbor Breeze fan in my guest bedroom for about 3 years. Unfortunately, this fan started to make a really loud humming noise (clearly a sign the motor was starting to fail). The fan was a cheap fan so this time, I decided to spend a little more. Anyone who's purchased a fan knows the Hunter brand. They make quality products and stand behind their product. I checked my local Home Depot and Lowes and found this exact model, only it was $150-160 as compared to $92 on Amazon (for the white model). I went home, found it on Amazon and ordered it. Two days later, it arrived and we installed it shortly after. The installation was not very difficult. The fan has three speeds that are adjusted with a pull chain. I was a little surprised that the fan didn't include an extension pull chain but other than that, the fan works great! It sure is WhisperQuiet. It moves air really well and has been a big improvement over our old fan.

Highly recommend this fan to anyone looking for a quality 42" fan for their home.

I purchased Hunter 20436 Beacon Hill Three-Light 42-Inch Five-Blade Ceiling Fan, White with Frosted Globes and I purchased the Hunter Fan 27185 Light Remote Control also. I had these installed by a professional. The time was about an hour ( and $50) and both units work great. It is nice to be able to turn the light on without getting up or turning the fan speed higher or lower from my wheelchair. The fan is so quiet at first I would look to see that it was working. Hunter most likely builds thre Best fan money can buy. I will always purchase the remote when buying a new fan as it works well also. Both were delivered from Amazon in good condition and I got 2 day shipping. Thanks,Amazon.

Nice looking small ceiling fan. Flushmount was lower profile than other fans I looked at, which was a major selling point for me. Two of the included bulbs were broken in their boxes. There is a number to call to get replacements, but we chose to install candelabra base CFLs. We have 5 Hunter fans in our house and no problems.
