The lamp works fine although a little fragile. The first time i moved the lights around the third pod came apart. It clicked back together but if I move that pod it will separate very easy. The lite is good and the third option is very bright.

I ordered the bronze unit based on the color presented on this page. I actually wanted what is called satin (a medium grey). The bronze unit is not grey, but actually almost black. The picture is incorrect. The customer service from 1stoplighting has been stellar. They contacted me regarding the issue, arranged to exchange the units, and all with no problems. If you want a lighter grey, order Satin, if you want very dark, almost black, order the bronze but order from 1stoplighting. Best price and great service.

Buy Song Birds Small Accent Table Lamp
just beautiful and perfect for a small bedside table. shipper is terriffic to do business with; very gracious & good communications. highly recommend!
Two things to note however. It is listed in the description here as being 60 watt bulb compatible but there is a sticker on the bulb screw in place that clearly states NOT to exceed 40 watts. This was a disappointment since the shade is the clip on style (as opposed to the screw on fial style) so one has to use bulbs shaped like the old incandescent bulbs. I need to do further research as I think more traditional style energy efficient bulbs are being sold but so far all my energy saving bulbs are looped so I cannot use them in this lamp. I mention this so one can take both points into consideration when making a decision.
The final comment is about the banding around the lamp. The description does not say this lamp is hand painted so the fact that the pics are decals does not bother me. However, the banding was not applied as carefully as it should have been and does not meet properly. I finally decided to keep the lamp as I'm hopeful no one will notice but consumers need to stop doing this. As it becomes more and more likely that we'll be doing all our shopping on line (I practically already do!) so that we cannot see the product, then we have to consider that the "trouble" to send items back is more than compensated by the convenience of sitting at a computer to research thousands of items we couldn't find in stores even if we ran around all day! Just saying as I passed the lamp recently without my glasses and I saw the spot where the lines didn't meet but I did know the spot was there.
Overall it seems to be well made lamp, looks expensive and is attractive IMO. I'm glad I have it and it looks so nice on my smallish dresser. I'lll repost if it gives me any trouble as I bought another lamp last year that turned on six times, then froze! For now, this would be a five star item if it wasn't for the two items mentioned. Still four stars though.
Edited to add: after writing this review I went shopping for a shower curtain, right here at amazon.com of course. I found the Lenox Chirp Shower Curtain which looks beautiful. I'll review when I get it. It will be perfect for my nature theme and will pick up on this pretty lamp. These two items wouldn't please everyone but I'm going into 2013 happy!

There always seems to be a spot in the kitchen where you need more light to work or read a recipe. This lamp does that and fits perfectly under my new cabinets (14" overall height) If you've been looking at accent lamps, you know it's hard to find one that takes a 60watt bulb...this one does! It's so much more appealing than a retina-frying spotlight-style lamp. And, it has a 2-position switch that allows for partial or full wattage. It lends a cozy glow to the room when used alone, too. The lamp is small but has a nice balance. The painted birds and berries are done in subtle shades with a rich texture. Can you tell I'm happy with it? I don't get as much natural light as I'd like so I decided to bring the outdoors indoors by letting nature dictate my decorating choices. I thought this lamp would add to that motiff from the look of it in the photos so I ordered it. It will be sitting on a dresser near a drape panel that reminds me of the banding around the lamp as well as the tree branches. Very nice item. I ordered the Yantouch Jellyfish with two other items, the Phillips Living Colors 2 and the Lzr Sphere Light Projector from Unique Gagets & Toys. The Jellyfish is my favorite of the three. The colors are great, and very adjustable. There is saturation and hue gradients which allow the Jellyfish to be set to an astounding variety of colors and brightness. The flow setting moves the colors through the spectrum in a preset configuration that reminds me of a color wheel. Finally there is a preset which includes several colors at one time, a sort of rainbow. The Jellyfish is not bright enough to read by, nor can it be clearly seen by daylight. It does not cast light into a room, or onto the ceiling. It is made of sturdy plastic which allows the cool temperature LED style lights inside to cast their glow onto the shell that encases them, creating a mellow and attractive color scheme to be seen. The weakness of this item is its touchpad the interface between the user and the results. Either mine is problematic or the method is. My impression is the design is weak, not my specific item. It is supposed to respond to touch commands, the point touched determining the color result, the duration of the contact and direction of the movement are supposed to effect changes in the saturation of the color, and the type of results you get are responsive to this input. In reality it strikes me as fidgety and more random in outcome it is determined by these input commands. Nevertheless this is a great little night light. If I had kids I would give it to them, since I don't I get to keep it.

I got this light as a christmas gift and I love it! I can't stand being in a pitch black room so I usually leave a small night light plugged in. But most of the time they are just too bright [I have a very small room, so it doesn't take much to light up my room]! With this light I can pick any color in any hue, light or dark. You are able to pick a color and either turn the brightness up or down which makes this great! Anyone looking for a reading lamp should not buy this, why would you want a colored light to read with anyway? I love that I can pick a different color to fit my mood. i bought this feeling confident it would be great. massive disappointment.to begin, the light is far too dim. it is designed to be pointed at a surface and the surface helps to increase the strength of the light in the room/area. i can't see how this is useful for anything, also i find the colors and rainbow mode ugly. it's still too dark to be useful you will need another light source if you plan to do anything (like reading which is impossible using only this light).
the worst part is, when it is in rainbow mode (fades in and out through the colors) i actually find this really annoying and distracting. it's just not at all pleasant having the colors changing constantly.
the advertising says that it can show millions of colors, which i don't believe. when you scroll through the colors and choose one, it isn't the same tone and hue to the color that you selected. probably the most disappointing thing about this. it doesn't feel like it has a lot of colors. i do graphic design, studied art, am good at creating colors using just red, blue, green paints. i'm sure that this thing doesn't have as many tones of color as advertised.
i'm not sure what to do with this unit now, is it worth the effort to have one of my walls being cycled through a few neon colors? no.
i wanted this as a pretty low light reading lamp and yesterday bought an Artemide tolomeo a color that i'll enjoy.
the pricing is too high for this which has no practical use.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program For an office desk lamp in an office with a modern cast it will fit right in and look sharp. It isn't a lamp I'd have purchased ordinarily but I am very interested in LED lighting and this one became available for review through the Vine program for no cost. I wanted to rush the review a bit because the lamp delivered is not the lamp pictured although it is very close.
NOTE: The pictured item is NOT what you will get. I've uploaded two pictures of the base so be sure to look at them before ordering. The sphere instead of bar counterweight and the much shorter base cylinder makes the maximum height of the lamp a lot less than what's pictured for this item currently (Sept 25th 2012).
The lamp is shipped in one piece is very good packaging. The lamp itself is inside a made to order styrofoam case inside an inexpensive cardboard box which was inside the Amazon cardboard box. The cord is actually two pieces with the end of the cord terminating in a special thin two prong plug that plugs into a special adapter for your outlet. If outlet space is narrow you might have a problem. It is about the size of a narrow phone charger adapter.
Plug it in and go. Easy as that of course. The blurb about the choking hazard is with regards to the two piece electrical cord and wall plug adapter I guess.
This is, apparently, a bic lighter style lamp. The LED is not replaceable. So if that goes out the lamp goes in the trash or you fool around trying to get a warranty replacement lamp or perhaps a service center can replace the assembly? No way to tell from the contents of the package or the Amazon page. The simple instruction sheet is sensibly printed on an 8X10 piece of paper but the word 'warranty' is not mentioned anywhere on it. The only related thing is a mention of a damaged cord needing a qualified service tech for repair. The LED component is not made for self-service.
The light is not bright. I mean, really subdued like a night light subdued. That is perfect if you work in a darkened office and don't want to disturb others with a 100 watt bulb. If your decor calls for subdued lighting it will fit right in too. For example, if you are a teacher and you want a subdued light to do work while the class watches a film (or naps if that is your grade level), this lamp might be perfect since the arm will stretch it over what you are working on and direct the light down to the work space.
Along those lines, it is worth mentioning that you probably don't want to use it for long stretches in a darkened room. With your eyes in the dark and the work in the light it strains your eyes.
The LED component gets hot! Not like touching a long running edison bulb but you'll notice if it you touch it.
The adapter gets hot! Not dangerously for sure but you probably should have ventilation around it to prolong its life.
The instruction sheet advises against looking directly at the light source. Boy they aren't kidding. I saw spots for about 5 minutes lol. I think I counted 6 LEDs on the back of my closed eyelids while I was waiting for my vision to clear.
It is good looking and functional even if very dim compared to traditional bulbs. I knocked off a star for the hot-ish LED lamp housing, the limited height, the incorrect picture, and the disposable nature of the product.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The lamp is not as the manufacturer pictures it, but another reviewer helpfully furnished annotated pictures for what shipped: the lamp with the round handle and round counterweight is what I have. The electrical cord, about 5 ft long, does not seem to detach at either end, and the adapter at the other end may be too large for some openings in a computer desk and need an extension that will fit through.The lamp itself is smart looking, although limited in physical function. When the arm is level, the light head is only 6" above the desk surface. The arm, at least on my lamp, will elevate up to 30 degrees from the horizontal -it can go a little higher, but not as high as the manufacturer's picture indicates and it won't stay at any setting above 30 degrees, at least on my lamp. 0-30 degrees is okay, however, and I have set the lamp base on a desk speaker (+ 5") and it works fine on a pedestal like that.
The light will well-light a working surface of 12-18" radius. As long as the light is below eye level it doesn't glare, and it seems to use minimal energy. The light does stay horizontal in any elevation, and can be adjusted to tilt upward ahead of the arm -it does not, however, tilt to either side of the arm, and you'd have to rotate the entire assembly on its base to move the light laterally. The LED light is not replaceable and that is a downside.
It came assembled and was reasonably well-packaged in plastic, with foam outside of that. Instructions are minimal; they do talk about plugging the wire into the adapter, but mine came with the adapter inserted and, judging by the feel, is not detachable, or at least I didn't want to chance it. No warranty in the paperwork.
In short: nice looking, reasonable as a precise-area lamp, esp. if you want low energy use or to avoid glare.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I really love the look of this lamp. It's solid. It's functional. I agree with another reviewer who stated it could be brighter. I've been using an older style lamp similar to this one, maybe 13 years old. It used a dual-level brightness bulb which IS replaceable. I've always used it in the low setting so I've never had to replace the bulb. The LED bulb on this one is NOT replaceable and has a lower brightness level than I am use to. Once the LED burns out (and eventually it will) the lamp will be unrepairable and end up in the trash. The packaging was secure, it only came with a one-page "directions" sheet, with no company warranty, logo, address, or phone number. My reason for downgrading to 4 stars is....the one they shipped has a loose wire/connection. Raising the lighthead up, down, or adjusting it turns the LED bulb off.
