LOVE THIS quirky little lamp!! I saw this on Pinterest and made it my cover photo-adding up the price, shipping, tax, it was too expensive on the clicked-through link but found it here on Amazon! These days so many items are poorly made and disappointing when you see the actual item. NOT this lamp which is a thick frosted glass, unlike the photo where the light appears somewhat pink the light is quite bright and white/yellow. There is an on/off switch on the cord. It is a very nice size because it doesn't take up too much space on my small stand. Makes me happy to look at it..

This reading light works pretty well and is cute. The included bulb takes a minute or two to warm up, so don't expect to turn it on and read right away. Once it is warm the light is plenty to read.

Simple but feels surprisingly sturdy and well made. I bought this for my son and he absolutely loves it. Reads with it comfortably before bed and says he sleeps better with it. My husband kind of rolled his eyes when I pulled out the box but upon inspection he admitted it is actually nicer than what he had thought and a good purchase. I certainly recommend.

Ordered 2. 1 stopped working after 2 weeks. The light is extremely dim on that one. Changed batteries. Tried recharging the ones in it. No use. The tops were also "copper-like". Meaning plastic colored copper. Too much $$ for what you get.

When I first received the pair of lights only one worked. I emailed and called CC. To my surprise, I received a new replacement cap in about a week. I had written a negative review earlier because I hadn't heard back from the company. I'm delighted that they sent me a new working light but wish they had communicated their intention better.

I apologize for the negative content.

I think,the light is OK but it is NOT copper. It is a plastic light painted an antique copper color. For those expecting to get a real metal/copper lighting unit, you might be disappointed. I was initially but got over it pretty quickly.

Both lights now work fine and look great. We'll see how they stand up to a Minnesota winter.

We ordered two packs (4 caps) for our new deck. Shipping from Canada was expensive but they arrived quickly and looked exactly as pictured. They were well packed, included adequate instructions and were easy to install. We liked the fact there is an 'off' 'auto' switch instead of the usual 'pull out the plastic tab' method of keeping the batteries from discharging before putting them out in the sun. And that's where the '5 stars but...' came in.

After just a few days the lamps were markedly different in performance, some staying lit until well after 2AM, others were out before midnight. We really liked the looks of the caps and didn't want to return them. A quick note to Classy Caps elicited a response from Amber to try some other nicad batteries (if we had them) as the batteries could be the problem. We had some AA nicads, installed them and the problems went away. We emailed Amber a second time and asked for 6 replacement batteries. Less than a week later we received a package with 8 new, and larger nicads and a replacement cap too (we had one that didn't always come on). Everything is working as expected now and we like the look of our new caps. The reason for 4 instead is at this price point it was disappointing to have to go back to the manufacturer for service on an item that just came out of the box.

That being said we wouldn't hesitate to purchase from Classy Caps again, their willingness to troubleshoot the problem and supply the necessary parts to 'make it right' is pretty impressive in this day and age.

I bought this lamp for use while building scale models. For the cost, this is definitely a great asset to any model builder. Not only does it provide me with directed light, but the magnifier glass can be useful too. The only minor complaint would be while trying to get the magnifier very close the model it does not provide a lot of room for your tools sticking up out of your hand. Generally I wear a magnifying visor anyhow so this is only a minor issue for me. The light is bright white which helps for seeing true colors. You'll need to find a good place to mount the light so it'll be out of the way and have room for it to fully articulate to your needs. That being said, it does fold up on itself for the most part and takes up very little real estate. Regarding articulation, it moves very easily and is sturdy. You can make small adjustments to the light's position and it will hold in place. The springs that support the arm are heavy duty and it seems to be solidly built.

Price was good, shipping was quick and the 2 lamps were delivered in perfect condition. However, the lamp is incorrectly listed on Amazon as being 8-Diopter when it is a 5-Diopter. That is the reason for my lower rating. It clearly states on the boxes the lamps came in that they are 5-Diopter and the product number on the boxes and lamps matches the number ordered. The lower magnification works okay for my use, but some who order this item may not be able to use the 5-Diopter.

I purchased the magnifier lamp a couple of months ago to replace an older one that no longer worked. This lamp is by far a higher quality lamp than what I had. The daylight or natural light of the lamp is great for artists, as it shows the true colors of whatever you're working on. As a jewelry designer & beader, at times I need a magnifier to see tiny details & the magnifier in this lamp is extremely helpful for that. All in all, I feel that the quality is worth what I paid for it. It was delivered on time, already put together, & all I had to do was mount it on my table, plug it in, & it was ready to use.

The head is very differcult to adjust. You have to make the bolt very tight otherwise it goes all over the place. The cover that goes over the lens to keep the dust off the lens will not stay up unless the head is level. I took it off. It is useless!. The light itself is very good. Would I buy in again? No !!

Unfortunately I had to return this item. It is extremely substantial, however, because of its size and heaviness it will not fit my particular needs. It is very heavy and would require a large heavy table to attach it to. It's well worth the price but perhaps for drafting etc. It's not for doing needlework which is what I need. The lens is very large and this is a product that is well worth the price paid.

My husband bought the 4.5 ft lighted palm tree as a Christmas gift for me. We are wintering in Florida and have only had it on for a couple weeks at night. I've seen similar lamps citronella/candle and some electric over the years, but when I replaced my deck I decided to give this one a try. This lamp is very nice and gives my deck just the touch I was looking for. It's easy enough to put together that you really don't need instructions and in a recessed area, I expect to get several years of good use out of it. Lots of people have commented to me on how much they like this lamp and I have to agree it was well worth it. It's a little wobbly empty, but it comes with sand, so you add a little gravel, dirt, and plants and it's a lovely accessory. Enough so, that I'm going to get another one for the lower deck.

We bought this as a Christmas gift for our son's home at the lake and were very pleased with the quality for the price. They absolutely love it because they can put it on their deck and have a welcome light at night plus flowers too. The planter was much bigger than expected and very sturdy. I put this together in about 30 minutes the "threads" on the ends of the post are kind of hard to get together it was a pain and in the end it was a little crooked but it works well. The "elbow" in the middle of the post you see in the picture covers the joint of the two pole pieces. It looks good, the pot is lighter in color and looks more fake but a few hanging plants and no problems. This has withstood 60 mph winds without tipping over and we only have the base half full of stones. It throws a lot of light down the drive; all in all it's a good deal if you don't want the hassle or cost of an installed light.

I find the glass shade to be pretty proportional with the rest of the lamp, since the stand is so slender. It would be nice if the whole thing was bigger in general, but since I like the style I'll make do. Visually, it's very unobtrusive.

While the base is solid and has a decent heft, the stand wobbles a bit back in forth just from the air of a fan, so I wouldn't recommend using it in a spot that gets a lot of traffic, or where there are kids/animals running around. Right now it is behind my couch so I don't feel that it is an issue.

Putting it together is simple in theory, but getting the shade on perfectly straight while cinching down the inner clamp is quite difficult. If you're anywhere near as neurotic as I am, expect to spend 10+ incredibly frustrating minutes fiddling with it. The inner rim of the glass is a tad rough in places, but I don't expect anyone to notice, especially not when it's on.

Lastly, I've got a CFL 100 watt equivalent bulb in it and I feel it does a decent job of illuminating half of my living room (approx. 10'x12') but I wouldn't want to read a book from more than a couple of feet away if it was the only light on.

After receiving a replacement lamp( which was a pleasure with Amazon, so simple) as the 1st box came without the top globe, I was a bit disappointed as the size of the globe seems a bit too small in scale for the lamp height. It worked fine for the space I was using it in which was a display room but I felt it would look out of scale in a normal room space. Being that the floor lamp fixture itself as narrow it may not have been able to support a heavier size glass globe.

I'm very happy with the design of this lamp. The clear glass spheres and white beads near the top of the lamp post look even better in person than they look on the photo. The beads make this lamp more stylish than your average plain floor lamp w/ white shade, but it's simple enough that it fits in anywhere without clashing with furniture or decorations.

Assembly was also very easy. You just screw each section of the post together and then the lamp shade is secured with a ring that screws it into place. It didn't require any tools.

Unfortunately the lamp shade came with a few dirt smudges. I had to turn the shade so the smudges are facing the wall.

I purchased this to replace a lamp in my TV room. It's absolutely perfect for my needs. Should I decide to read rather than watch TV, the lamp has sufficient illumination for that purpose. It looks beautiful in the room. The lamp was easy to assemble, which is important for us single ladies.

This is a very cool lamp! Though this color, or any of the colored ones, are more for decorative purposes. They don't serve well for practical purposes like reading light. They set a really cool ambiance. I hung mine on the wall with the wall clips that came along with the lamp. I put it behind my bed on the wall and it looks like my bed is a hover craft or spaceship, it's really cool.

These lights are great. I acutally went and bought one of each of all the competitiors and put them in the room and then my wife and I both rated them. These were the run away winnersit wasn't even close.

I installed them as a repalcements to incandesceants. We do use them with dimmers. We can virtually not tell a difference in either the light they provide or the way they work with the dimmers (I had previously replaced lights in the house on dimmers with CFL's and other LED's and not gotten the same results).

I like new technology, but recognize that it can take a while before the price gets where you want it to be and the function is really 100%. Price is a personal decision, but in terms of functionality and performance, these are the grail of category. If you are waiting for a low operating cost alternative to your incandescentsit has arrivedin my opinion for the first timein this product.

I put these in high use / high profile areas of the house where I had been previously unable to find low operating cost light that I was satisied with both the light and the dimmer function. The changed that opinion and I have installed 8 in the house so far.

I gave them 4 stars not 5 because the installation could be easieronce I figured it out it was OK but it took a while and they simply did not fit in some fixtures in the house.

Additionallyover the last year I have replaced nearly all of the light bulbs in our house with CFLs or LEDs. We are seeing a very noticeable reduction in our electric bill$25-$35 a month.

I purchased these to replace both some Incandescent and CFL floods mounted in recessed ceiling cans. I ran a test using a Kilawatt Meter, a Photographic Light Meter, and my Canon EOS 5d MKIII. I measured watts consumed, light output in EV (Exposure Value) at 1 meter, and Color Temperature in Kelvin. I measured Color Temp by photographing a Neutral Grey Card and checking it after with Adobe Lightroom. I suspect the results are slightly high or cool but as I mention below, good for comparison.

Keep in mind I cannot vouch for the accuracy of any one device but all bulbs were tested under exactly the same conditions, so at the very least the results are relative. For example I think the Kilawatt is under reading a bit on the lower end, and my Color Temps are a tad high, but again think relative. Also when measuring light in EV think Richter Scale, it's logarithmic, an increase of 1.0 is a doubling of light. Also EV is comparable to LUX or luminous flux(Lumens/sqft) and NOT Total Lumens. Total Lumens is a measure of the total light output, which would depend on projection angle, and light intensity from edge to edge of projected surface. However if the bulbs have similar projection characteristics we can make a mild comparison of light output using Lux.

Also note that there are two versions of the Cree floating around, a 9.5W and a 10.5W. I went to Home Depot and dug around and found a 10.5W for comparisons. The boxes give exactly the same performance specifications with the exception of Wattage. I'm not sure what the difference, I can only assume one precedes the other.

Power Consumption = 72.5 Watts

Conclusions?

The light output of the LED was not quite the same as the 65W incandescent, but not bad. I'd say it is closer to a 55 or 60W equivalent. Again in terms of light output think of it like a 6.9 earthquake versus a 6.7. There is a difference, but for me the real difference was with the 75W Flood, it offered up noticeably more light. Unfortunately that is the majority of what I am replacing and when unfairly compared to the 75W, there is substantially less light with the CREE. I think that a CREE LED of higher wattage and light output would be welcome in those situations where you really want a 75W equivalent. As for the 9.5W versus 10.5W? Light output was basically the same for the 10.5W and 9.5W, with the exception being the 10.5W was slightly warmer than all bulbs in the comparison. I would seek out the 9.5W version since it used 1.2W (13%) less power for basically the same light output.

My biggest surprise was the CFL. It performed very poorly in my opinion, much worse than I expected. With basically half the light output, the slow start up, you have a light that is not very desirable. I will search around to see if I have some other examples as this one may have been an especially poor performer.

Overall I was impressed with the amount of light that could be produced for under 10W. I would say we have passed the point at which LED's can be competitive, we just need the prices to come down a bit more, and a few more options for greater light output. The CREE is a good replacement for 60 Watts of R30 Flood Light, not quite the Standard 65W, but close. So close that the power saved is just too hard to ignore. Say you have a finished basement with a dozen R30's. Flip the switch on with the Incandescent floods and your Electricity Meter is going to spin noticeably faster. With the LED's it's doubtful you could even detect the difference. 12 R30's x 8 Watts = 96 Watts. Wow, that is a big jump in efficiency.

Very easy install if you have the standard Edison base already; after the first one it took me about 90 seconds each to change out the rest.

Using them with the Lutron DVWCL-153PH-WH (or DVCL...no plate) dimmer; full range dimming with no problems and no buzzing.

I have purchsed about 50 Cree lights over the years. The Cr6 is a great light, very pleasing color and distribution. The Cr6 is an improvement over the Lr6 in terms of dimability and price.

This seller keeps shipping 1 instead of 4 as advertised. Tried 2 times. Amazon has no way of telling you when inventory error is resolved. 0 for order experience this time. First significant issue with Amazon in ~500 orders. Unless you want a hassle don't buy until the inventory is fixed.
