Exactly what I was hoping for. Beautiful, bright, polished nickel finish. I used these on either side of MBR vanity mirrors and the 2-light fixture in between the two mirrors. Can be mounted up or down. I like to mounting them with the opening towards the ceiling; I don't see the light bulb this way. Highly recommend.

The construction looks good at a distance but it really looks like I did a "do-it-yourself" project because the top part of the lamp is not lined up with the bottom half and nothing is on center. I got two for Christmas and they look okay but I always am staring at them wondering why they are not symmetrical and centered. I'm always trying to bend the shade part to be center and level... still, for the price they're okay. When I start making the big bucks I'll replace them with higher quality stuff. The white cord leaves a lot to be desired as well. The shade is very plain, not a lot of texture to the linen. Good size--larger than I though they would be.

The lamp is useless without the shade holder. You cannot place the lampshade on top of the bulb; you must have the attachment for the base of the lamp which holds the lampshade on top of the lamp. The packing box indicated a missing part by putting a \ mark over the #2 Items which should have been caught by the Packaging Department. Previous emails to Amazon concerning this omission have been ignored.

This is a stunning elegant/contemporary lamp. I would buy this again for sure. I changed out the lampshade to a true drum shade because the one it comes with has a slight angle to it, and it changed the feel of it completely, I love it.

Cheap Professional 2-in-1 Spring-Arm Magnifier Lamp - 5" Lens - 5-Diopter

I bought this lamp for use while building scale models. For the cost, this is definitely a great asset to any model builder. Not only does it provide me with directed light, but the magnifier glass can be useful too. The only minor complaint would be while trying to get the magnifier very close the model it does not provide a lot of room for your tools sticking up out of your hand. Generally I wear a magnifying visor anyhow so this is only a minor issue for me. The light is bright white which helps for seeing true colors. You'll need to find a good place to mount the light so it'll be out of the way and have room for it to fully articulate to your needs. That being said, it does fold up on itself for the most part and takes up very little real estate. Regarding articulation, it moves very easily and is sturdy. You can make small adjustments to the light's position and it will hold in place. The springs that support the arm are heavy duty and it seems to be solidly built.

Price was good, shipping was quick and the 2 lamps were delivered in perfect condition. However, the lamp is incorrectly listed on Amazon as being 8-Diopter when it is a 5-Diopter. That is the reason for my lower rating. It clearly states on the boxes the lamps came in that they are 5-Diopter and the product number on the boxes and lamps matches the number ordered. The lower magnification works okay for my use, but some who order this item may not be able to use the 5-Diopter.

I purchased the magnifier lamp a couple of months ago to replace an older one that no longer worked. This lamp is by far a higher quality lamp than what I had. The daylight or natural light of the lamp is great for artists, as it shows the true colors of whatever you're working on. As a jewelry designer & beader, at times I need a magnifier to see tiny details & the magnifier in this lamp is extremely helpful for that. All in all, I feel that the quality is worth what I paid for it. It was delivered on time, already put together, & all I had to do was mount it on my table, plug it in, & it was ready to use.

I ordered for one of my service techs for a wireless tech center. He needs the light due to the way the tech room is set up. He used it for 45 days and then the lamp stopped working. Problem is the bulb is not replaceable. So instead of just replacing the bulb I have to purchase another one. This time the bulb will be replaceable.

The head is very differcult to adjust. You have to make the bolt very tight otherwise it goes all over the place. The cover that goes over the lens to keep the dust off the lens will not stay up unless the head is level. I took it off. It is useless!. The light itself is very good. Would I buy in again? No !!

Cheap Heath Zenith HD-9250-WH-C 270 Degree Journeyman Motion Sensing

HeathCo JourneyMan Motion Sensing Security Light, model HD-9250

We made the mistake of installing 3 of these HeathCo JourneyMan security motion sensor security lights, on the left, right, and back sides of the house. I am constantly replacing the back light, having replaced it at least 5 times. The box claims:

"Built to last a lifetime"

"aged, weather tested rubber gaskets", "seal internal components and controls from severe environmental conditions."

"1.25 Mega Watt Surge Protection."

The back light is the one which is on the most. I rarely use the side lights which usually remain off. I am constantly having to return it to my "home" retailer and replace it. I am sick and tired of having to stand on a ladder and install a new one. It is not, BTW, an easy feat to hold the new light and connect the 3 wires to the outdoor box.

There are 2 sensors on these security lights: a motion detector and a light detector. The light detector prevents the light from turning on during the day thereby wasting electricity. If it's not the entire light failing, it's something else. I have replaced the HeathCo so many times it's making me manic.

All of these security lights are made in China and HeathCo is no exception. HeathCo's China plant needs more quality control and testing. 2 days ago I replaced it because its light detector failed. The new one kept going on and off all night long in 2 minute intervals. There was NOTHING in front of it moving and since it has 2 90 watt floodlight bulbs, it was wasting a lot of electricity.

The only positive element here is it has a "Lifetime Warranty" so I was not forced to pay for a replacement... yet. Unless you really need an automatic light, I suggest sticking with a switched light. The HeathCo is the most expensive and supposedly highest quality light available. There's a 30% chance it will be defective right out of the box! Their Chinese manufacturer appears to be cutting corners and HeathCo needs to manage them better. Apparently HeathCo has no one watching the production lines in China.

China QC is terrible. Not just an inconvenience, and call backs, but I wonder about potential home electrical fires. I am pulling these all out.

In the last three months I have installed one wall mount motion light, one soffit mount motion light (Heath), three lighted three way paddle switches (Lutron) and three lutron paddle 3way switches with dimmers.

I have had three switch failure right out of the box, 2 switch failures where led doens't work after two weeks, soffit light fails to turn off the first time it senses and trips on, and the wall mount light cycles on about 2 seconds after switch is turned on, never goes to auto, and stay on all the time.

Have checked out all the circuits and settings, and I am engineer. The quality is just junk. Why do the companies here accept this stuff? because the american consumer buys on price mostly. We are our own worst enemy.

Leviton and lutron mexico seem better but not trouble free either.

I too have had to replace this unit twice due to sensor failures. They seem to work fine for a year or two tops, then the trouble starts. My first unit would sometimes turn on, sometimes not, and yes it was aimed and calibrated properly. I know this was a sensor problem since it worked fine if switched on manually, and the settings and aiming were not tampered with at all. The second (replacement) unit lasted about the same time before similar trouble developed, and this one likes to stay on in broad daylight, all day long, even without any movement in the field. Very frustrating, like another reviewer said it is not a lot of fun climbing a ladder and struggling to balance the fixture when it needs to be replaced. I chose this unit precisely because the manufacturer touts its reliability and quality as selling points, and precisely because I hoped to avoid these problems by paying more up front. There must be a better unit out there somewhere!

This French Garden Outdoor post light was described on other web sites as thin and difficult to put together. I had my doubts about the lamp but was thrilled with the style. Taking a leap of faith I ordered the post lamp and in a few days it arrived. The packaging was first rate. Lots of foam and wrapping guaranteeing that the parts would arrive in one piece. The lamp was easy to assemble. The glass panels were snapped into place the top installed and we were ready to put this lamp into place out side. The metal construction was surprisingly strong, especially since I had read some negative reviews else ware. We are so pleased with the lamp that we are ordering the matching house lights.

Bought this product based upon its design and looks. However the tassle was a bit roughed up. The lamp shade actually does not hang from the chain but rather by the electric wire. The strings used to hold the lamp shade make it a puzzle to get a light bulb in the unit. Overall its Ok and fits the decor.

I love non-conventional items and this lamp style matched some moraccan decor I have. I love this lamp for it's appearance. It shipped super packaged in styrofoam. The only bad thing I can say is the tassle parts at the top came unravled but I applied the use of some glue to put it back together. The shade is a bit sheer compared to it's appearance in the picture so using a lower wattage bulb was more appealing.
