This is a very nice lamp. It is good quality and fits our decor. I don't have anything negative to say and am enjoying this great product.

One note is that it is a single way lamp, not 3-way. But changing the switch costs about $4 for parts at any hardware store. With a screw driver and a video instruction guide on YouTube, anyone can make this into a 3-way lamp.

I am using this in my sewing room. The light is bright and the lamp adjusts. The LED light keeps the room (and me cooler) while being able to see better! A perfect upgrade from my old lamp that kept falling on me while using it.

I bought this lamp for my living room, which has a cathedral ceiling with no ceiling lighting (needed, since this lamp is surprisingly tall). It fits nicely in the corner, with one leg of the corner piece of my sectional passing through the loop of the base so it doesn't go anywhere. The brushed finish looks nice and the dimmer knob has a nice amount of resistance when turning, so it doesn't feel cheap. The body is tall enough that the dimmer knob is easily accessible a couple inches above the height of the back of my sectional.

The major problem with the lamp is that the connection between the body tube and the base is weak. Another reviewer mentioned this, but had a different issue than I had. Instead of welds breaking, for me the problem was the materials. Inside of the bottom end of the body is a rectangular bracket that is welded parallel with the bottom. It has a threaded hole drilled in it that a threaded metal tube fits in. This tube then passes through a hole in the base and is secured on the bottom side with a large washer and a nut.

The threaded tube did not fit securely in the threaded hole in the body with the parts I received in the initial shipment. This meant that when I tightened the bottom nut to secure the body to the base, a very minor sideways force on the body (less than you would expect from reasonable movement of the completed lamp, such as moving it into place) caused enough torque to make the threaded tube jump threads in the hole in the body. It was all downhill from there, as jumping threads caused both the threads on the tube and in the hole to progressively strip. I tried flipping the tube around as the other side seemed to be a bit more secure, but even this didn't work and eventually I could walk the tube out by hand by pulling it while rocking it back and forth.

The lamp was unusable at that point. I contacted the seller and, thankfully, they quickly agreed to send a replacement body and threaded tube. When these new parts arrived a few days later, I was able to successfully construct the lamp and move it into place with no incidents, though I was very conscious of the force I was applying throughout the process.

So, thanks to the seller for being accommodating. Unfortunately, I probably wouldn't buy this product again. It's cheap, but in this case you get what you pay for as the manufacturer clearly has part-to-part consistency and/or materials problems.

Another note for people interested in efficiency: this lamp comes with 40W incandescent candelabra bulbs. It is ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE to find dimmable CFLs of comparable power that have the candelabra base. I found only one source online, but have been reluctant to buy them at $11 apiece without shipping. One might try non-dimmable bulbs, which are much more readily available in this size (and cheaper) and only using the lamp at full power, but I'd still worry about bulb lifetime.

Straight out of the 50's and 6o's, this heavy duty, well-made lamp speaks contemporary and traditional languages with ease. My only concern at first was that the arms of the lamp were stiff and pointed ceiling-ward. With time, though, tension in the arms has relaxed and the arms highlight contemporary paintings. I especially love the dimmer switch. Pricewise this lamp is outstanding.

This really a beautiful lamp but beware of its size. It's only suited for homes with high ceilings. It does scorch an apartment ceiling because it gave off alot of light and heat.

I bought this lamp to use behind our extra long sectional couch. We didn't have anywhere to put a conventional floor lamp so this was the perfect solution. I especially like the full dimmer switch so that I can easily adjust to brightness for all occasions reading, movies, cleaning, etc. I love this high quality lamp. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I purchased this to use while weaving. It's an excellent lamp that can be adjusted to different heights. The base is very heavy so the lamp doesn't tip over. The head can adjust down so that the light isn't shining in your face but on your reading or craft work. I even find my 15 year old using it. I highly recommend this lamp.

Searched for this specific lamp once I found it online, but unavailable in stores and most other places online. Thank goodness it was on amazon.com. My mother-in-law was instructed to get a gooseneck reading lamp that could be placed between reading material and her face in order to improve her reading capability as she has macular degeneration. This is the only reasonably priced lamp that adjusts low enough in height to be used for reading while sitting in a chair and then the gooseneck adjusts further for your convenience. Sturdy, heavy base to prevent tipping, great quality. Just what we needed. Arrived in perfect condition in short amount of time.

We have a similar lamp in another room so I knew the design would fit our needs. I wasn't sure if the quality would be as good as our other lamp which is an old style medical lamp and is very sturdy. The Hausmann Lamp has a heavy base that sits firmly, even on the carpet and does not try to tip when you adjust the head. It is not what you would call a decorative lamp (we bought it for the living room) but I was more interested in the functionality than the style. If you want a good light to read by, I would recommend this one.

Kathy Ireland Amor Collection 26" High Accent Table LampThis lamp had good reviews, and I liked the style of it, but in the photo of it it showed "regular" light bulbs. When I received the lamp it had been reworked to use the "new" type bulbs that are very expensive. Also the light bulbs almost touch the glass shade. I didn't want to bother to send it back since I had used my Amazon points to purchase it. It looks nice, but if I'd bought it at a local store, I would probably have returned it. I really don't like being forced away from using the type of bulbs I prefer. I don't care for the look of the ones they want you to switch to. It is fine to offer the option, but the consumer should be able to choose and not have to pay $5 for a bulb! Pretty lamp, but the description should state what bulbs to use.

This is a REAL GUN review. (I have to say this as too many weapon accessory reviews are for air-soft toys and BB guns)

After a whole bunch of searching around, for everything from the cheaply made plastic $30 lights (that would fly off the gun down range after a few shots) to the $200+ surefire lights... I settled on this as the best weapon light for the money. I have a Beretta M9A1 and this light works and looks like it was made for my Beretta. The fit and finish are amazing, the better light output (of the TLR-1s) is enough to temporarily blind anyone unfortunate enough to get it shined in their eyes. The added strobe is quite disorienting to anyone on the other end of it (red spots in vision that last for about a minute if you look into the light). I love the placement of the two way toggle switch for left or right handed, and one and two handed grip styles. It can be switched into the on position or pushing the opposite direction will keep it on for as long as you hold the switch. Good for those situations where you may or may not need the light on at all times. It is set up in a way that even in a panic situation (a.k.a. loading your pants) you can have the muscle memory to turn it on. Much better than the little rubber push button lights I have tried out.

Using the light in dark/low light situations can even help with aiming as the center of the light spot is right where I would be aiming for. So if the bright spot of the light is covering the center of the target at about 5 to 15 feet, there was a 95% chance I would hit it without using the sights.

The main reason I got this light was the fact that it is all aluminum, it is tried and tested, and the way it clamps onto the gun is better than any "quick release" style rail light I have seen yet. I tightened it on as well as possible because I really don't have a use for "quick release". Though it does come off easy enough in case that is your thing. It came included with two fully charged batteries, and three different rail mount "Keys" so it will fit your particular style without any "Wriggle". My Beretta has a 1913 picatinny rail and it locks onto it beautifully. I cannot attest to the weaver or glock style rails though it fits on my friends composite SigPro 2022 with no problem. Mounted on the Sig 2022 the light sticks out past the muzzle about an inch, so it doesn't look as good as it does on the Beretta M9/92s where it is perfectly flush with the muzzle.

Took it to the range and fired off close to 150 rounds of 124gr +p 9mm rounds with the light on the whole time, and it never so much as flickered. I turned it off and put it away and then checked the light out the next day, and it didn't skip a beat.

*NEW UPDATE* April 2013

Been using this light for nearly 2 years now, always on my gun, THOUSANDS of rounds and still looks and functions beautifully! Still blindingly bright and never fails to function. I have received compliments that the light looks like it was MADE specially for the Beretta 92A1 series of pistols.

If they ever make one with a Green strobing laser under it I will buy it in a split second!

*Will update this if anything happens at the next few visits to the range*

---BOTTOM LINE---

If you have a full sized handgun with an accessory rail then this is the light to get! Especially on the Beretta 92A1, M9A1, and 96A1 pistols.

There are three things the new TLR-1s has improved upon the original TLR-1:

1. The brightness. 160 lumens from the TLR-1s vs. 135 from the old TLR-1. It's visibly brighter, when shooting onto a white wall from the same distance, though not a huge difference.

2. The strobe feature. You need to double tap the switch within 0.4 second to activate it. It is very effective, very disorienting to look at (even when looking from behind). But the activation is hard to accomplish, especially in the dark, under stress, in a self-defense situation. Another review mentioned the remote switch for this light that could make it easier.

3. The battery door. On the old TLR-1, to change batteries I need to use a coin to pry the door latch off to open (latch is metal, door is plastic, and it's very tight for waterproofing). And since the door and the switch are the only parts made from plastic, a few of those coin prying left dent marks on the door. Now, the door is still plastic, but I can just flip up that flat metal leaf, and the door pops right open. Push the metal piece down and the door snaps shut with the same tightness as before, only much easier to use...

My copy of the TLR-1s went back to the factory for warranty repair after only one range session (about 150 rounds fired, light mounted on a Glock 23, shooting 180gr .40SW and 115gr 9mm from a conversion barrel, both Walmart WWB and Federal FMJ ammo). The strobe quit working after the range shooting. The top of the light forward of the muzzle got burnt by the muzzle flash (top part of that silver ring was completely blackened), and can't be wiped clean using alcohol and Goo Gone. I don't really care for the strobe feature since it's so hard to use, but I worried if some other parts on the circuit board might also be affected by the shock of gun fire. Called Streamlight, they issued a RMA right away, and I got it back in two weeks. Good customer service for a company that stand behind their products. I will probably buy another TLR-1s shortly for my other rail-equipped handguns so I don't have to swap all the time when I swap carry guns. Also to have a backup unit, as the old saying goes, for flashlights, one is none, two is one...

BTW, Streamlight even cleaned the powder burns on the light for me. The silver ring is shiny again...

Best Deals for Streamlight 69210 TLR-1s LED Rail Mounted Flashlight with Strobe

Very bright and the strobe feature is very cool. I found it a little difficult to activate with the battery cover switch, but if you upgrade the door to accept a remote press switch and use that, it's very easy to use the straight light or bip-it to strobe.

Honest reviews on Streamlight 69210 TLR-1s LED Rail Mounted Flashlight with Strobe

Bought this light to go onto a new pistol I had acquired with a rail. The multiple keys, lumens of output, and strobe feature were what drew me to the product. Streamlight has a good reputation as a quality manufacturer and I have some experience with some of their hand-held flashlights, so I figured this was pretty much a no-brainer.

The details of this product are defined in its description and in many reviews before mine, so no point in beating a dead horse. Let me try to illuminate a couple of basic things that may or may not affect you: opening the battery compartment is pretty easy, now, with the new latch. You just pull/push it all the way until it goes about 180 degrees and the thing pops open all on its own. I suppose this is a new design compared to the many complaints about tight latches from before. First time I've had one of these, so I can't really say. The multiple keys are nice, in case you have multiple weapons with rails that you're trying to attach this thing to and hadn't planned ahead. Really, one should just try to have all of the same rail so these are more easily switched in any case.

Unfortunately for me, I didn't look into this particular thing when I bought this. I bought a 1911 pistol that basically uses an STI frame, which uses some kind of slightly odd size rail. It seems to fit the glock key, but not well, as the glock key seems a bit tall. I had made the assumption, incorrectly, that the rail was a 1913 rail. This was entirely my fault, not Streamlight's, but I would like to see more than the four keys that seem to be available for this thing. A few small adjustments to this glock key should get me straightened out, as it currently will not sit on my pistol for longer than a few shots.

I would have preferred a more solid mounting for the rail, in general, rather than the quick-on/off idea that seems to be behind this type of rail. I'd rather have to pry it off with a couple of tools and be sure its on there than be able to switch it around a lot... and that would be my only real source of discontent with this product.

The strobe works pretty easily, though what actual tactical effect it might have is theoretical to me. I just bought this for the higher lumens of output compared to the standard TLR-1 and figured if it was useful, it would be nice to have, but wouldn't hurt me too much either way since I wouldn't be depending on it. Bought this for my night-stand pistol, and there are a few nice holsters that will fit the 1911 + TLR-1 combo well if you're inclined that way. I bought one just to have one and in case it is ever allowed as a duty weapon. I'd say I'm pretty happy with it, and as soon as I figure out this rail fit thing, I'm sure I'll get rid of that one little dissatisfaction as well. Overall, can't knock the product, just make sure your rail will fit one of the keys.

I have a Springfield XD 40 Service and I love this light! This light is blinding day or night. Seriously, YOU CAN NOT LOOK AT IT! Just a glimpse and you're seeing spots for minutes after. It is ruggedly built, bright as all, and asthetically pleasing to the eye (when it's turned off that is). It is a little wider than my weapon, but this is not a problem for me since the person breaking in won't see it. It comes with two 3-volt CR123A lithium batteries which are easier to change out than the TLR-1 (the previous model) and are supposed to have a 10-year storage life. They are not cheap to replace, but from the reviews I have read on Amazon you are better off finding them local (like at Radio Shack) and paying a couple bucks extra to guarentee full charge. At 4.18 ounces this light adds a little to the end of the weapon, but is hardly noticable (at least to me). After reading the reviews for this model and it's predecessor (the TLR-1),.. out of 119 reviews NOT ONE WAS BELOW A FOUR STAR RATING. Comparing that to other "cheaper" and "lighter" lights, my decision was easily made. When it comes to the protection of my family, I would rather pay a little extra for something 'once' and know it will be reliable. The strobe feature is nice as well, but may not be practical for most. With a quick "double tap" of the switch YOU CAN LOCK THE STROBE ON, but like any other tool you should practice with it to retain "muscle memory". Really though, unless you are storming a building full of insurgents, I think you should be ok with just the steady beam. If you have medium to large hands (like me), you can toggle the switch with either the thumb from your supporting hand, or the index "trigger finger". The rocker switch makes it easy to use and is much less likely to come on accidentally (like the cheaper lights) and drain your batteries. All in all, I believe the TLR-1s is THE best light for the money. Hope this helps :)

When you're trying to replace an old ballast, you can't expect perfection everytime. These have plug-ins on each end. If the old plug fits the new ballast, you're golden. If not, you have 16 wires to cut and wire-nut together. I didn't get lucky, maybe you will. The new ones plug in towards the bottom of the ballast. My old ones plug in toward the center of the ballast. Different size plug too.

These lights are great. I acutally went and bought one of each of all the competitiors and put them in the room and then my wife and I both rated them. These were the run away winnersit wasn't even close.

I installed them as a repalcements to incandesceants. We do use them with dimmers. We can virtually not tell a difference in either the light they provide or the way they work with the dimmers (I had previously replaced lights in the house on dimmers with CFL's and other LED's and not gotten the same results).

I like new technology, but recognize that it can take a while before the price gets where you want it to be and the function is really 100%. Price is a personal decision, but in terms of functionality and performance, these are the grail of category. If you are waiting for a low operating cost alternative to your incandescentsit has arrivedin my opinion for the first timein this product.

I put these in high use / high profile areas of the house where I had been previously unable to find low operating cost light that I was satisied with both the light and the dimmer function. The changed that opinion and I have installed 8 in the house so far.

I gave them 4 stars not 5 because the installation could be easieronce I figured it out it was OK but it took a while and they simply did not fit in some fixtures in the house.

Additionallyover the last year I have replaced nearly all of the light bulbs in our house with CFLs or LEDs. We are seeing a very noticeable reduction in our electric bill$25-$35 a month.

I purchased these to replace both some Incandescent and CFL floods mounted in recessed ceiling cans. I ran a test using a Kilawatt Meter, a Photographic Light Meter, and my Canon EOS 5d MKIII. I measured watts consumed, light output in EV (Exposure Value) at 1 meter, and Color Temperature in Kelvin. I measured Color Temp by photographing a Neutral Grey Card and checking it after with Adobe Lightroom. I suspect the results are slightly high or cool but as I mention below, good for comparison.

Keep in mind I cannot vouch for the accuracy of any one device but all bulbs were tested under exactly the same conditions, so at the very least the results are relative. For example I think the Kilawatt is under reading a bit on the lower end, and my Color Temps are a tad high, but again think relative. Also when measuring light in EV think Richter Scale, it's logarithmic, an increase of 1.0 is a doubling of light. Also EV is comparable to LUX or luminous flux(Lumens/sqft) and NOT Total Lumens. Total Lumens is a measure of the total light output, which would depend on projection angle, and light intensity from edge to edge of projected surface. However if the bulbs have similar projection characteristics we can make a mild comparison of light output using Lux.

Also note that there are two versions of the Cree floating around, a 9.5W and a 10.5W. I went to Home Depot and dug around and found a 10.5W for comparisons. The boxes give exactly the same performance specifications with the exception of Wattage. I'm not sure what the difference, I can only assume one precedes the other.

My house line voltage is 121.5V

65W Incandescent R30 Flood

Power Consumption= 63.6 Watts

Light Output EV = 6.9

Temp = 2850K

14W Warm White CFL R30 Flood

Power Consumption = 14.0 Watts

Light Output EV = 5.8 (WOW! Half the light of a 65W Incandescent?)

Temp 2800K

10.5W CREE Cr6 LED 6"

Power Consumption = 9.2 Watts

Light Output EV = 6.7 (Same as 9.5W?)

Temp 2700K (The warmest light by a small amount)

9.5W CREE Cr6 LED 6"

Power Consumption = 8.0 Watts

Light Output EV = 6.7 (Same as 10.5W?)

Temp 2900K

75W R30 Incandescent

Power Consumption = 72.5 Watts

Light Output EV = 7.2

Temp 2850K

Conclusions?

The light output of the LED was not quite the same as the 65W incandescent, but not bad. I'd say it is closer to a 55 or 60W equivalent. Again in terms of light output think of it like a 6.9 earthquake versus a 6.7. There is a difference, but for me the real difference was with the 75W Flood, it offered up noticeably more light. Unfortunately that is the majority of what I am replacing and when unfairly compared to the 75W, there is substantially less light with the CREE. I think that a CREE LED of higher wattage and light output would be welcome in those situations where you really want a 75W equivalent. As for the 9.5W versus 10.5W? Light output was basically the same for the 10.5W and 9.5W, with the exception being the 10.5W was slightly warmer than all bulbs in the comparison. I would seek out the 9.5W version since it used 1.2W (13%) less power for basically the same light output.

My biggest surprise was the CFL. It performed very poorly in my opinion, much worse than I expected. With basically half the light output, the slow start up, you have a light that is not very desirable. I will search around to see if I have some other examples as this one may have been an especially poor performer.

Overall I was impressed with the amount of light that could be produced for under 10W. I would say we have passed the point at which LED's can be competitive, we just need the prices to come down a bit more, and a few more options for greater light output. The CREE is a good replacement for 60 Watts of R30 Flood Light, not quite the Standard 65W, but close. So close that the power saved is just too hard to ignore. Say you have a finished basement with a dozen R30's. Flip the switch on with the Incandescent floods and your Electricity Meter is going to spin noticeably faster. With the LED's it's doubtful you could even detect the difference. 12 R30's x 8 Watts = 96 Watts. Wow, that is a big jump in efficiency.

Definitely brighter than the 65 watt bulbs they replaced.

Very easy install if you have the standard Edison base already; after the first one it took me about 90 seconds each to change out the rest.

Using them with the Lutron DVWCL-153PH-WH (or DVCL...no plate) dimmer; full range dimming with no problems and no buzzing.

Honest reviews on QTY 4 / Cree Cr6 Ecosmart LED 6 " Recessed Light 9.5w 35,000 Hours

I have purchsed about 50 Cree lights over the years. The Cr6 is a great light, very pleasing color and distribution. The Cr6 is an improvement over the Lr6 in terms of dimability and price.

This seller keeps shipping 1 instead of 4 as advertised. Tried 2 times. Amazon has no way of telling you when inventory error is resolved. 0 for order experience this time. First significant issue with Amazon in ~500 orders. Unless you want a hassle don't buy until the inventory is fixed.

These are a great way to seal off can lights for energy conservation. They provide more light than the CFL's that they replaced. They were easy to install and are "instant on".

Our house is very modern and wide open from the front door through the kitchen and dining room and we were looking for a theme to tie all the rooms together. The Kitchler raindrops were a perfect vehicle to add a modern theme to tie all the rooms together. We used a nine light chandelier in the entry foyer, 4 of these individual lights over the bar, 3 individual lights in the dining room and a 3-light fixture in the powder room. They are bright and add a very modern yet elegant look to the home. They use small base candelabra bulbs and really throw a lot of light. We have all the single lights on dimmers which allows us to set different moods in each of the rooms. Visitors always compliment us on having the foresight to install the same style of light throughout the first floor.

The main reason we selected this chandelier was for the weight. We didn't have a reinforced beam, so it needed to be light weight. It looks beautiful and really lights up the foyer. We don't have a large or high foyer-it would be too small for that. It was a bit of a nuisance to assemble, but we love it and it was definitely worth it. I'm not sure if "aged copper" is a proper color. When I think of that I think of the green and rust colors of aged copper. This is more an aged bronze in my opinion. They also sell it at Lowes if you want to check it out first.

Beautiful light, but you have to assemble it. The first one I bought was not assembled correctly at the factory and one part was chipped. Note in the box says do not return to the store, but instead call the company to get replacement parts. I called the company and left my information, but they never called back. I bought another one and it also was not assembled properly, so I took it apart and was able to extend the length of the screws so I could put it together. What should have taken 30 minutes ended up taking over 2 hours of my time just to get one light put together because of the poor factory assembly.

If you're handy, you should be able to correct any poor factory assembly. If you're lucky and it was assembled correctly at the factory, then as long as you follow the directions, you will be able to assemble it. Once it is assembled it is a very beautiful chandelier and I am very happy with it. Just not happy with the factory assembly or customer service.

Seemed like a great deal online, I even saw it showcased at Lowes before I bought it. Then it arrived at my door in a box with about 50 different pieces/nuts/bolts. Takes approx an hour to assemble. I ended up returning it because the final product was flimsy and looked cheap which is about right considering it's a $100 chandelier.
