This was a hard light to find in this configuration for some reason and Amazon had the best price. Progress is a great brand, it installed easily and it is a great quality fixture. The glass shades are interestingly textured and heavy weight. It's got a nice vintage/industrial lookthis was installed in our 1st floor powder room off a 50s inspired kitchen, so the nickel finish works with the chrome accents we have going on...I think this also comes in a bronze finish that looked really nice, too.

Great product it just didn't go we'll with our decor for a new bathroom. Amazons return policy is the worst I have been through. Back and forth emails, and It has been a week and I still cannot send the light back yet. I guess I will be shopping at the 'O' ther online store now.

If you're looking for a quality lamp and do not want to second mortgage your house to get one then this lamp is for you. It is made in the USA and it shows! Aside from the switch knob and cable there is no plastic in this lamp. It is all sturdy metal design throughout. Most importantly, the dowels holding tension springs are all solid steel (blackened to match the looks). The nuts at the joints are of "self-locking" type that will prevent them from coming loose over time. Inside the shade there is another, smaller white reflector shade. After approx. three hours of constant use (75W bulb) the main shade was just warm (the reflector gets and dissipates most of the heat). Also important is the fact that it is so well balanced that it stays permanently in position (and I tried some "extreme" stretches). Save yourself a lot of frustrations that come with the cheap China-made crap, and invest in this solidly made, well thought-out product.

The Verilux Brookfield desk and table lamp is attractive, well-made and easily adjustable. Unfortunately, it has a couple of design flaws, resulting in my rating of only 3 stars.

First, the Natural Spectrum Daylight compact fluorescent lamp that comes with the Brookfield is, in my opinion, unsuitable for reading or viewing color illustrations. While Verilux goes to great pains to convince the consumer that the lamp mimics the spectrum of natural daylight, it actually produces an unpleasant bluish light that reminds me most of the blue-green glare of mercury vapor lamps used in some street lamps. The light the Verilux bulb produces may look like daylight to a photospectrometer, but it does not at all resemble the light produced by the sun on a clear day to the human eye.

Colors, whether in photos in a book or magazine or on textiles or plants, are all shifted toward the blue end of the spectrum producing an uncomfortable, artificial look. I cannot recommend Verilux bulbs for most purposes.

Second, while the articulating arm positions the lamp housing easily and smoothly, the reflector does not tip left or right. This is a minor quibble but would be nice to have and easy for the manufacturer to provide.

I elected not to return the lamp as I actually like its design. Instead, I removed the lamp socket and replaced it with a socket to accept standard screw-base compact fluorescent (CFL) lamps. I installed a warm white CFL and am now very satified with the lamp's performance.

Verilux uses a proprietary two-pin bayonet socket. Replacement lamps to fit this socket are not widely available except from Verilux or its dealers. They tend to cost more than ordinary CFL lamps. I don't recommend replacing the socket unless you are quite handy with tools are are comfortable modifying the socket mounting and wiring the new socket.

I contacted both the merchant (who deferred to the manufacturer) and the manufacturer and was told the lamp was out of warranty so "we're sorry".

I've had lots of other lamps from quality manufacturers that are still perfect after 20 or more years of use.

I wouldn't buy another Verilux product on a bet.

This was the perfect desk lamp for me!!! I was looking for a lamp to help provide concentrated, happy light for me as I work in my home office. This lamp did the trick. It is non-glare, which is very nice when referring to papers that might be printed on gloss-coated paper. The brightness of the light and color spectrum is very pleasing. The style of the lamp design works well with my decor. I have heard that replacement bulbs are a bit expensive, but I am hopeful that the bulb will not need to be replaced very often. I like that I can easily adjust the hight of the light to go up, down, or side to side without much effort. The swing arm design works very well. Also, there is a rather large on/off twist button on the base of the lamp that makes it very easy to turn on and off. I am very happy with my purchase and highly recommend this lamp to others looking for a nice desk lamp with light that is sufficiently bright and yet easy on the eyes at the same time!

I saw these lights and was very impressed with the look. There is a companion light set (P2714-09) that is longer that matches for the master bath we also purchased. Overall, it looks great in the closet bathroom, and provides a lot of light. Very contemporary look. One minor complaint is that the directions are extremely limited. I have put a number of other lights up in the past, so I generally know what to do, but without better directions, it would be easy for most people to get stuck. I hope the seller would take an afternoon to write up a better, and clear step-by-step guide on how to instal the light.

Regarding the seller great! We got the light very fast, and it had a scratch from the manufacture. We sent it back and it was replaced with no issues. Very nice doing business on Amazon.

I searched and researched LED lightening looking for a solution to add some light to my 12-fot long bedroom closet and for some under-counter lighting for my remodeled kitchen.

I tried and returned umpteen products from IKEA, Lowes, Home Depot. They worked okay, but for the closet I wanted something VERY small that I could just put on the back of the sliding door frame. This is a 12-foot long closet, deep enough for regular clothes hanging. There is no light in the closet or anywhere nearby. And only 1 power source about 2-feet outside the closet on the wall near the floor. Everything I tried had too many pieces, wires for linking and with the framed LED light they were just too big and bulky. And they were expensive. I wanted to cover 9-10 feet and I wanted the light to be natural looking so that I could distinguish between clothes that are black and those that are navy; a light that was not to "cool" and not too "warm".

I watched a few of the You tube videos showing how to DIY with the LED sticky back strip lighting. It looked pretty easy. But the costs were too high and the amount of strip LED in the kits was more then what I needed. Actually, I was looking for a really simple kit. Although you can buy all the pieces separately, since this was going to be my first venture at this I wanted a kit so that I had a comfort level that at least someone with more knowledge then me, put together all the necessary pieces. Now that I've done it, I would feel comfortable just buying the pieces that I need. And I would totally stick with this company, Inspired LED. The kit was SO easy. The connectors that they send you called "Tiger Paws" are easy, accurate and worked exactly as documented in the instructions. BTW, the instruction were awesome, VERY clear. With big detailed pictures for those of us with aging eyes!!

The power source (transformer) and very small, simple on/off switch, small brackets that I used to mount the very small connecting cables completed the kit. I used the whole 90 inch strip in one long piece so I didn't need the multiple Tiger Paws to connect multiple pieces of LED strip. It looks like you could also add a dimmer switch to this product. But I didn't need one.

I mounted the very small power cables inside some SATCO plastic wire cable covers (you can buy them at any ACE, Lowes, etc). The SATCO has a sticky strip on the back so I just made sure the wall was clean and stuck it to the wall. I cut the SATCO so that the on/off switch could be mounted directly to the wall and I used a SATCO corner angle piece near the baseboard to make it look a little neater. I mounted everything on the wall just inside where the sliding door hits the wall. So when the sliding door is closed you can't really see anything. The power cord runs on top of the baseboard and then into the plug.

FABULOUS lighting. Perfect for what I needed. I called Inspired LED once and got a real live person who obviously knew the product. My question was "Does the end of the LED strip need to be terminated?" The answer is "no". The support person also told me that if I send them a drawing (with dimension) of what I want to do for the under-counter light, they would do a design, send a quote and package up all the parts that I could then just put together. There is no cost for this service so I'm going to go that route. I have some parts left over so I'm going to do my own design and see how close I come to what they recommend. And then if there's no big price difference, I'll probably just order what I need. I wish I had more places where I could use this kind of lightening. I'm in a pretty small condo but maybe I'll find some other really creative use.

Anyway, product is VERY good, VERY useful and exactly as described. The Ultra Bright-COOL IS Ultra bright. I mounted it facing "in" instead of "down" so that I don't get blinded when I turn it on. It also seemed to spread the light better.

The only thing I would change is the on/off switch. It would be easier to mount if the cables connected on the ends of the switch; so you'd get a straight vertical line, top to bottom. As it is, the cables connect on the side. One for input and one for output. I suppose it's meant to be mounted horizontally. No big deal..

HIGHLY recommended.

I needed a fan for my home office is it was heating up due to two computers running as well as other equipment. I wanted something that did no overwhelm the room but pushed out a lot of air, was quiet, looked nice and wouldn't break the bank. I found all of that with this ceiling fan! It was easy to install, runs quietly, moves a lot of air and looks great! The lighting isn't very bright, but I wasn't looking at this fan for adequate lighting and use a separate floor lamp for that purpose.

Looks very sheek and modern. The light is not that bright though. Having a hard time calibrating it so it doesnt shake. But overall a great fan and looks great and doesnt take up much room! Put it in my bedroom!

Purchased and self installed this fan. Works as advertised. Low hum when on slowest speed (the only time you can hear the motor anyway since the whoosh of air otherwise hides the hum). I wouldn't classify this as a noisy fan, but the low hum is there. I can certainly live with it. Another thing: this is a six blade fan. So this means if you WANT to reduce the airflow (you mainly want to gently circulate the air) you can install only 3 of the blades and the fan remains balanced, reducing the airflow (try THAT with a 5 blade fan!). The light is a regular socket-sized and the bulb (that comes with ityeah!) is a compact florescent "short" bulb (the size used in the refrigerator/appliances) so it produces a decent amount of light (and, with a regular socket, you have options...). Easy to install by following directions, and wiring options were clear. It's small though, 30" is a small fan.

What more can you say about a ceiling fan. Nice design, a little more noisy than some of the others I have used, but it seems to produce a little more pressure to move the air better.

Bought 2 of them, both had shattered globes on the inside. I am now resorting to finding the globes locally as the fans really are good.

Pretty and sturdy, but seriously diffuses light. A 40W incandescent (box says 45W max.) hardly illuminates anything, and gets a bit warm. Works best with a 100W-equivalent compact fluorescent, unless you are in serious need of some serious mood lighting. :D Compact fluorescents also stay cool.

It's pretty unclear how you're supposed to get this to fit in the canopy, but once I figured it out installation was quite simple. With high ceilings this is a no brainer. The remote is a little bulky, though, and I wish it came with a mount for holstering it on the wall (by a light switch) like most remotes do.

I purchased this item based on the premise that it included a remote control unit AND a wall mount unit.

In fact it has one unit that can either be inserted into the remote, or inserted into a wall plate. I have not installed the unit yet but since you can only functionally use one transmitter I would recommend buying the individual unit you want for $50 instead of $60+ for this one.

The remote is reasonably attractive and works as advertised. I particularly like the wide selection of faceplates and installation options. There's nothing hard about installing it, but the instructions were poorly printed and, even after you deciphered them, were confusing. One particular point to note: The "on" direction of the DIP switches on the transmitter is opposite that of the receiver; on one you push the switch up for "on", on the other you push it down for "on". They are labeled in tiny print, but that's easy to overlook. I had bought a used unit, and the transmitter switches were set to the inverse of the receiver code. It was pretty clear that the previous owner had reversed them and returned the unit because it wouldn't work. Once I reset the switches it worked fine.

glue held it together at parts . I laid it on the floor while disconnecting the old fixture and when I picked it up the glued piece had separated. the good news, I was able to glue it back together. u do not expect to find sloppy manufacturing at this price even if it is made in china . found it on the web for less and in some cases more. a crappy import marked up for some big profit taking.
