The lamp shade is a straight-sided, frosted-glass shade meant to be used on a standard lamp (hanging instead of standing upside down as the safety sticker inside indicates). In the product photo, the shade has a clear curve to it, to continue the curve of the wooden body of the lamp. That's the first departure from what's advertised here.
Second, in the product photo, the base appears to be turned from a single piece of dark-stained walnut, based on the continous grain. The actual lamp has at least six joined peices of wood, with at least three visible from any angle, and I'm fairly certain it's veneer given the overall weight.
The socket was off-center, and the retention ring provided to hold the shade in place is cheap plastic. The shade itself just sits on top of the lamp with no groove or lip to hold it in place. The retention ring is screwed down around outside of the socket, and clamps the shade in place. Since the socket is off center, the shade doesn't want to sit centered on top of the lamp.
That said, it looks OK sitting on my desk in my office, under a set of shelves attached to the wall. Just don't look too closely.
I think I could have bought the shade for $5-7, and the base (or something similar) for $15-20 if I just looked around. I'm completely at a loss to explain why this lamp sells for $100 (or more).

We have two of these lamps in addition to a floor lamp of the same design. These are beautiful products with solid wood finishes and real glass shades. Purchased desk lamp in May 2012. I thought the LED lights would be a bit brighter, but I was wrong. You can't truly appreciate the colors of the stained glass because the light is so low. I kept it because I needed something in the space where I put it in the hallway.

I saw first this Kimball & Young mirror when staying in a Marriott Hotel last month and fell in love with it. (I don't usually gush about things like mirrors lol). I dislike make-up mirrors that scissor out from the wall and this one was really different. It is has very clean/minimalist lines and barely took up any space on the bathroom counter, yet it is high magnification and being slightly concave - the farther back you stand the higher the magnification. You don't have to lean into the wall mirror to see clearly so it is good for applying make up, and shaving.
The base is very well balanced and doesn't tip or move when you use the small lever to tilt the mirror.
The model at the hotel had a brushed nickle finish, but the only version I could find on-line was chrome. I would have preferred the nickle finish to match my bathroom hardware. But because of the small base and sleek lines, even the chrome isn't a problem.

There was one of these mirrors in the Hilton hotel at the Ft.Lauderdale dock. We admired it so much that we bought four of the mirrors. My order arrived promptly but unfortunately was damaged. The box containing the mirror was intact but it was inside a larger box that came from Amazon's distribution center. Packing was minimal...a crumpled piece of brown paper. Obviously that was not enough for such a fragile item. I contacted Seattle Luxe's customer service, they asked me to submit pictures, which I did, and told them it didn't need to be rushed for Christmas. Soon I received an e-mail stating a replacement was on its way. This one was packaged better, with bubble wrap, and now I am enjoying a high quality mirror that was just what I wanted. I had seen this mirror in a hotel and they provided me with their source and the manufacturer. It is really attractive and the magnification is great for applying cosmetics. I had a mirror that had a light and 10x magnification, but it was both ugly and bulky, plus the transformer kept falling out of the socket due to its weight. Who needs that! I needed a fan for my home office is it was heating up due to two computers running as well as other equipment. I wanted something that did no overwhelm the room but pushed out a lot of air, was quiet, looked nice and wouldn't break the bank. I found all of that with this ceiling fan! It was easy to install, runs quietly, moves a lot of air and looks great! The lighting isn't very bright, but I wasn't looking at this fan for adequate lighting and use a separate floor lamp for that purpose.

Purchased and self installed this fan. Works as advertised. Low hum when on slowest speed (the only time you can hear the motor anyway since the whoosh of air otherwise hides the hum). I wouldn't classify this as a noisy fan, but the low hum is there. I can certainly live with it. Another thing: this is a six blade fan. So this means if you WANT to reduce the airflow (you mainly want to gently circulate the air) you can install only 3 of the blades and the fan remains balanced, reducing the airflow (try THAT with a 5 blade fan!). The light is a regular socket-sized and the bulb (that comes with ityeah!) is a compact florescent "short" bulb (the size used in the refrigerator/appliances) so it produces a decent amount of light (and, with a regular socket, you have options...). What more can you say about a ceiling fan. Nice design, a little more noisy than some of the others I have used, but it seems to produce a little more pressure to move the air better.Bought 2 of them, both had shattered globes on the inside. I am now resorting to finding the globes locally as the fans really are good.

9-Inch Nautical Mini-Pendant Reviews
I ordered two of these pendants for a remodel we were doing in OBX which is a coastal area. This fisherman's pendant was such a perfect accent for the kitchen. Craftmade F545CFL-AB 5 Light Cast Arm Scroll Fitter Fan Light Review
Craftmade's Five Light Decorative Scroll Ceiling Fan Light Fitter, F545-CFL, is one of the few multiple light universal fitters available for installation on your ceiling fan. Further, it does not require candelabra bulbs and, if you so desire, will accept incandescent bulbs. Five 13-watt CFL bulbs provide ample light for most rooms; our light is installed on the family room fan. It does an excellent job of providing light for the 18' X 24' space so that no other lights are necessary. One caveat if the bulbs are "pointed" at a seating area, they will be too bright for the seat's occupants. If possible, turn the light fixture so the bulbs will not be directly aimed at someone.
This light fixture is easy to install on almost any Craftmade fan. It is equipped with "quick connects" which just require you to match correct wire colors. If you are installing this fixture on a fan which doesn't have the quick connects, you just need to cut them off, strip the wires, and twist them together correctly, using wire nuts. As I am not an electrician, that was the abridged version of how to connect this fixture; if you have never done something like this, please consult with an expert professional or trusted handyperson.
As I learned when trying to locate this fixture in polished brass, Craftmade has recently discontinued a number of finishes. You may want to be sure a vendor has your desired finish in stock before ordering. Alternatively, you can contact Craftmade directly about the availability of various finishes. Their CSR's are very helpful and will go out of their way to get you the information you need.
If you are looking for a fan light fixture that actually provides enough light to be useful, you will not be disappointed with the F545-CFL.
