Buy Litex E-TR30BC4LK3 Tr-3000 Collection - 30" Ceiling Fan, Brushed
Installation was a breeze. I installed two of these by myself not that it's brain surgery-level work, but after installing a 52" Hunter by myself wherein I whined (to myself) I needed a third hand or greater upper body strength just to hook the beast while I wired it I don't recall these even having the "helpful hook" and I know I didn't wish I had Popeye arms. These fans didn't require a heavy-duty brace as it's light-weight (comparatively speaking) and I was able use the existing light box (50 year old house with the old hard black plastic tube light box thingy) and it felt (still does) extremely secure after installation (and at the highest fan speed plus both were perfectly balance from the first flip o' the switch (likely because the blades are so small, not likely due to my installation skills :). I purchased two of these (from a big box warehouse) for my kitchen one over the sink/oven area, the other over the dining nook. I was concerned the blades wouldn't provide enough of a "breeze" or, perhaps, too much (e.g., cool down hot foods too quickly), but the small blades, the more pronounced slants of each blade and the three speed options made finding the "right breezes" an ease. I especially appreciate the ability to direct each of the three bulbs to a specific area (at long last I have very direct light over the sink AND over the range top). I have a two pole wired house so I added decorative pull chain fobs to match the kitchen decor (and the kind that wouldn't show cookie-doughed hands, etc), but found I rarely feel the need to adjust the fan speed. My kitchen prep area and dining nook are narrow (okay, I have a tiny kitchen, sigh!) and found the next smallest size fans to be a bit too big (if anything, they just looked out of proportion I suppose), instead, these look well-sized for the areas (and I've had many a compliment on my "kitchen fans"). I didn't give the fan 5 stars because the light bulbs are outrageously expensive (compared to "regular ceiling fan bulbs) and living in an older home my "dirty electricity" (the electrician's term, not mine) means I tend to go through light bulbs faster than I should (or so it seems to me). Would I buy this fan again? Absolutely.

Reviews of G E Lighting 75414 65-Watt Reveal Halogen Floodlight Bulb
It is getting more difficult to locate dimmable reveal bulbs. This saved me lots of shopping time & I got just what I wanted.
I replaced 5 standard floods in my family room, which was seeming rather dreary. I turned on the lights and wow! every item in the room glowed bright and warm. All the colors came alive. My busy wife noticed it right away. And, lower wattage than before! (60W vs 65W)
I'm not sure if it's the halogen, or the "reveal" (which is filtration baked in to the glass itself) but the combination is absolutely stunning! Way to go, GE engineering!
Ten bucks is a barrier, but Amazon Prime was cheaper than at any of the local stores with CA sales tax.
Life is short. Treat yourself to some warmth and beauty.

Ten bucks may seem like a lot for a flood light. It may not be justified if you just want some light somewhere like a stair case or a hallway. But if you are reading, cooking, eating, working and actually living under the light, it really makes an enormous difference. I had no idea until I actually took the plunge.I replaced 5 standard floods in my family room, which was seeming rather dreary. Bulb is ok, but don't waste your money. Spend a little more and buy a Philips LED floodlight bulb. They are dimmable and will cut your electric bill by 30% in warm weather months due to the less energy used and much lower heat given off by the bulb.Honest reviews on G E Lighting 75414 65-Watt Reveal Halogen Floodlight Bulb
I've had good luck with the non halogen reveals, before they became less available, and love the light produced. This one died after 3 weeks.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for G E Lighting 75414 65-Watt Reveal Halogen Floodlight Bulb
I probably had this on for an average of 2 hours a day for 4 months before it burned out. In my opinion that's terrible for what is supposed to be an expensive, high-quality bulb. The box says it should last 2.7 years when used 3 hours a day. It was nice while it lasted, but that's beside the point. Others might not have the bad luck I did, but I can only review the actual bulb I received.Saturday, October 11, 2014

These are a little larger than most pendants and we love them. The hue is great, and the bulb sits deep so you can hang them high and not get blinded. We purchased these to go in our newly finished basement to go over a small kitchenette bar. They have a very nice, sophisticated look that complements our decor very nicely. The glass finish is very nice and of excellent quality. I am glad we went with these as they were just the look I was hoping for.

I love the color and how unique it is. There are small white pegs that hold the shade on which i think looks a little tacky but overall the lamp is pretty nice.

The Verilux Brookfield desk and table lamp is attractive, well-made and easily adjustable. Unfortunately, it has a couple of design flaws, resulting in my rating of only 3 stars.
First, the Natural Spectrum Daylight compact fluorescent lamp that comes with the Brookfield is, in my opinion, unsuitable for reading or viewing color illustrations. While Verilux goes to great pains to convince the consumer that the lamp mimics the spectrum of natural daylight, it actually produces an unpleasant bluish light that reminds me most of the blue-green glare of mercury vapor lamps used in some street lamps. The light the Verilux bulb produces may look like daylight to a photospectrometer, but it does not at all resemble the light produced by the sun on a clear day to the human eye.
Colors, whether in photos in a book or magazine or on textiles or plants, are all shifted toward the blue end of the spectrum producing an uncomfortable, artificial look. I cannot recommend Verilux bulbs for most purposes.
Second, while the articulating arm positions the lamp housing easily and smoothly, the reflector does not tip left or right. This is a minor quibble but would be nice to have and easy for the manufacturer to provide.
I elected not to return the lamp as I actually like its design. Instead, I removed the lamp socket and replaced it with a socket to accept standard screw-base compact fluorescent (CFL) lamps. I installed a warm white CFL and am now very satified with the lamp's performance.
Verilux uses a proprietary two-pin bayonet socket. Replacement lamps to fit this socket are not widely available except from Verilux or its dealers. They tend to cost more than ordinary CFL lamps. I don't recommend replacing the socket unless you are quite handy with tools are are comfortable modifying the socket mounting and wiring the new socket.
I've had lots of other lamps from quality manufacturers that are still perfect after 20 or more years of use.
I wouldn't buy another Verilux product on a bet.
I don't think I could have found a better Desk Lamp anywhere on the web.

This was the perfect desk lamp for me!!! I was looking for a lamp to help provide concentrated, happy light for me as I work in my home office. This lamp did the trick. It is non-glare, which is very nice when referring to papers that might be printed on gloss-coated paper. The brightness of the light and color spectrum is very pleasing. The style of the lamp design works well with my decor. I have heard that replacement bulbs are a bit expensive, but I am hopeful that the bulb will not need to be replaced very often. I like that I can easily adjust the hight of the light to go up, down, or side to side without much effort. The swing arm design works very well. Also, there is a rather large on/off twist button on the base of the lamp that makes it very easy to turn on and off. I am very happy with my purchase and highly recommend this lamp to others looking for a nice desk lamp with light that is sufficiently bright and yet easy on the eyes at the same time!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Verilux Brookfield Deluxe Full Spectrum Desk Lamp

I bought this light to be the main source of light in my new bathroom. The new wall scones would provide the brighter light near the mirror. You almost don't remember it's up there because it blends in with the ceiling. It was a good buy!

I was unable to find a lamp post that didn't have a crossbar in it and that could just be sunk into concrete. I settled on this one even though it required a bit more work to install.
Before ordering I emailed Royce Lighting to ask for a copy of the installation instructions. I never heard back from them. I then surmised that since it has three holes in the base that it had to be bolted down. After searching the internet for help, I then knew what type of work would be involved to install this.
Dig at least a two-foot deep, twelve-inch diameter hole. (Instructions with the lamp post say to have an 18 inch diameter hole.) Dig a two-foot deep trench for the electrical wire and conduit. I used most of three 80 pound bags of concrete mix after filling the bottom of the hole with a few inches of stone and having the concrete form rise a few inches above the ground.
The included mounting bracket with three anchor bolts is set and leveled in the wet concrete. After the concrete dried, I ran into a problem when I went to install the post base over the anchor bolts. The holes of the base were pressing against the outside of each of the bolts and I was concerned that the threads were going to get damaged so I used a 1/2 inch drill bit to enlarge the holes. The base then easily slipped over the bolts.
The second section of the post attaches with three screws and the third section threads onto the second one. There is a three inch post cup to which I attached the lamp.
All-in-all I am pleased with the post. It is very good looking and a lot nicer than a plain straight post. I am giving it four stars since I had to modify the base by drilling out the holes. I also think that Royce Lighting not answering my email may be a sign of poor customer service.
Getting the included bracket properly leveled in the concrete, however, was another story. Had my concrete guys been unwilling to work at it for nearly an hour or, heaven forbid, if I had tried to do it myself with bag mix getting it put up wouldn't have even been possible in the first place. You do have to make sure everything is just right before the concrete sets. This includes leveling, proper spacing of the bolts, and proper length of the bolts extending above the concrete.
The included directions for embedding the bracket in the concrete give little to go on, so in the end you must use your intuition. They also specify to leave the bolts extending above the concrete longer than I think they should be. There is a maximum length that cannot be exceeded otherwise, you won't be able to tighten the bolts against the post base (or you'll have to cut them off before installing the base, as noted elsewhere). I ended up letting the concrete cure with the post base lightly placed on top of the bracket so everything would be in the right place. Also, the bracket is very thin metal and thus prone to bending. This throws off the spacing of the bolts so they won't fit the holes in the base if you aren't careful.
In the end, as with most DIY projects, this one has some gotchas that you don't anticipate. They are difficult to describe and envision until you start the project. Definitely plan to spend an afternoon on the project if you're attempting to install one of these, and involve professionals if at all possible.
Easy installation.

I installed this lamp post. I did read the reviews so I was prepared with a plywood base that I drilled out to give some thickness to the frame thereby holding the bolts in a true position. Now I understand why the one review said he had to drill the holes out, despite my efforts the bolts did not set in alignment. My solution: I put the black nuts on the threads and screwed them all the way down but not tight. Then using a 2x4 to shield the nut I hit it with a hammer to straighten it out. It took about 3 tries to get each bolt straight into the hole. This was easy and simple, easier than drilling out the holes. Note the bolts are aluminum so as not to rust. They will bend so be cautious and take your time. My street was very dark, we love this post it is attractive and provides great light to my steps and street. I should have know from the price that this light would not be quite as nice as the picutre lends to believe.
First off, the "directions" consist of two sheets of paper, one telling you quantities and the other with 5 steps that are clearly not in real English, and not directions at all. We had to look up the fixtue on the web to be able to get some help.
When installing the flat piece the lights hang off of, I sliced my fingers twice so please be careful! It's a lot more flimsy than it looks in the picture as well.
The last piece we went to install didn't fit, the cover/plate that goes around the actual light socket (where the crystals hang from). I had to use some tin snips and pliers to make the hole bigger. Thankfully that worked.
That all being said, it does look pretty nice now that it's done. So, if you're thinking about this fixture I hope you're electrically handy and ready for a bit of a challenge.

The crystals are plastic and clearly don't reflect light as well. I have a small eat in kitchen, and this provides a nice, soft light to eat under, which i prefer to a blaring lamp on my food. It is a nice addition to our kitchen. You do have to attach 80 strands of crystals, and the edges are sharp so BE CAREFUL! I cut myself twice. All in all, we really like it. I was hoping that the reflection would be a little more brilliant, but all in all, i am pleased.Thursday, July 3, 2014

Reviews of Laura Ashley SFW317 Classic 17.5-Inch Bell Shade, Red
I had two antique lamps with an unusually long drop. I thought the shade was measured differently. It's not quite long enough to cover the bulb socket. The quality of the shade is stunning though and the design is also. So I am keeping the shades on the lamps and just setting them on a lower table. Also the color of the shad says vanilla, which I thought would be ecru the actual color is very bright white.I have a large lamp which took me forever to find the right shade. This shade looks beautiful and fits perfectly. Love it!

Buy Pelican Flashlights 2450C StealthLite Rechargeable 2450 Flashlight
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $119.95
Sale Price: $74.02
Today's Bonus: 38% Off

I use these at work in almost ever configuration from Pelican, Streamlight, and even Maglite in the distant past. Unless you are a diver, I can make honest recommendations. I am only going to talk about high output lights here, your $2 chinese LED light will get better battery life than any model I mention here, but these lights alow you to clearly read a 2" pressure guage in a dark room from 25 feet way, and keep that output for hours of constant use on a single set of batteries, or in this case, a single charge. If you like a plastic bodied light, the Pelican Stealthlite is the best output for the size in my opinion. I have used the battery model, the LED version of the battery model, and this rechargeable model all personally and for hours a day in the Enginerooms where I work. If you can not use an LED light because it is not bright enough for what you need, then the better choice in a rechargeable is the Streamlight Scorpion in the small metal body. I bought both this Stealthlite and a similar Scorpion the same week to use at work. After a month of use, I gave the Pelican to a co-worker and kept the Streamlight Scorpion for myself. A year later I am still carrying the Scorpion rechargeable on a daily basis. You are right to think that having a rechargeable high power light is a nice thing. All of my co-workers cary light also, each has a favorite brand, I used to love the big Pelicans, but the Stealthlite is eminently more pocketable and has surprisingly good output across its battery life. Although the Pelican Stealthlite is a great light in the regular battery version, and an even better light in the LED battery version(just my opinion), the rechargeable Stealthlite is not as strong as the normal version. The Scorpion does a better job of providing a real light in the rechargeable format. One word of caution, any of these rechargeables will have a dramatically shorter use period than a battery model. Even the Streamlight Scorpion LED rechargeable barely runs for two hours of constant use before the low voltage safety shuts the light off. The Scorpion LED rechargeable is a nightmare by the way. I own one of them also for work and although I still take it to use sometimes because I really like the color and clarity of the light, when it gets near it's stopping point the On/Off button(which is a circuit board) goes nuts and the only way to stop it cycling itself on and off is to remove the battery, all in all the circuit board switch is a dead liability. The Xenon version of the Scorpion has a normal switch and is a very powerful and small light that is, perfomance wise, as good a light as is available from anyone, and suffers only one dis-advantage due to being a rechargeable, that is that it will want recharging after every hours or two of constant use. This sounds like a radical restriction and it is, but the Pelican rechargeable has even worse battery die off than the Streamlight products. I keep a charger in my workshop, and plug the light in evertime I come out of the Engineroom for a break or whatever. With infrequent use, being on for only minutes at a time to look at something the Scorpion will last for days. But in a room where there is no other source of light, any of these rechargeables will necessitate that you leave every hour or so to change to a freshly charged light. If that is not possible, then get the Pelican Stealthlite LED model in the regular battery powered version for maybe three or four hours of constant output. Beyond that you can not get a small pocketable flashlight in this high output class that will last longer, a larger C or D cell light will be needed. None of these lights has a quality problem other than the LED Scorpion which is a design problem stemming from trying to find a way to cram in unnecessary features like programmed strobe function and variable output settings in the switch.
Basics:
When I purchased this (beginning of 2011), it was the one of the cheapest rechargeable by Pelican.
That doesn't mean it was cheap for a flashlight or cheaply made. It's sturdy and as rugged as you would expect from looks and Pelican. This xenon bulb's color, to my eye, is a warm wight (3000K) comparable to the average incandescent.
Pro:
Recharge time seems quick (haven't timed it, it just hasn't been an issue)
Looks, feels good. Weight is great too. Lighter than a typical light of it's size.
Structurally well made.
Con:
Bulb light not as bright as expected, similar to say an older MagLite. Could be spectrum though and not lumens. While I didn't expect an LED level white, I did expect it to be a cooler white. See notes below.
This is minor and going to be hard to explain with words, but I'll try. When I took off the cap to examine the bulb and inside, the contact for the on/off switch got snagged. It was less than millimeter off where it should have been, and taking the cap pulled the contact to make it stay on. I didn't realize the problem until a bit later. However, it was easily fixable and did not cause any damage.
Bottomline: For a sturdy, rechargeable, and hand-held light, worth the cost. 3.75 Stars.
Notes (aka rambling and things you probably already know):
Majority of flashlight LEDs are normally white or blue and are considered a "cool" light. Yet it has higher kelin number (e.g. 6500K), which implies it's warmer than say incandescent (2500 to 3000K). If you didn't know already, by now you probably realize the "cool" refers to color and the naming convention comes more from color theory in art than say the temperature of hot metals.
Honestly, I rather more companies didn't offer cheap products to meet demand if it doesn't also meet expectations and standards. Basic LED lights powered by battery can be cheap (and still good) because the components are so cheap. When a rechargeable battery is involved, there is a threshold set by the materials themselves that has to be met. If the battery is cheap, either it can't put out the correct voltage (or light in this case) or it won't last for very long.

Lamp started blinking few days after purchased, and now it won't light at all. Don't purchase, this is a risky product
Hope it lasts. I don't see any way to change the LED bulb, so I assume this lamp is done when the bulb stops working. The manual says "do not replace bulb". This was a surprise to me.

The lamp has great lighting but the arm was put on the lamp backwards and the hole were drilled to only allow it to be in the lamp that way.Honest reviews on ETI 540098 9-Watt LED Desk Lamp, Black
Great bright light, I'm picky when it comes to my desk (I searched for lamps for longer than I want to admit) and I am definitely pleased with this one. Looks good, and it gives off brilliant light. I am a college student that sends a lot of time reading, and my eyes have yet to strain under this light.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for ETI 540098 9-Watt LED Desk Lamp, Black
