This simple fixture looks good and works as expected. Considering that there really isn't much to it the price seems high.

By the way, There is no reason why you can't use compact fluorescent flood light bulbs. I used two DIMMABLE CFLs and it even works with a timer switch.

This was a good buy for us, replacing our artsy-crafty porchlight with something that matches our mid-century modern house. Easy to install (I'm no electrician) and seems to like the new-style bulbs just fine. I got the black cap that makes it rain-worthy. Not sure if that was necessary under the roof, but the black accent looks nice. One star off for the price, which I thought was a little high, but the style probably adds that much to the value of the house.

Just recently put up 2 of the 10 i purchased but can already tell these are great. Took several different attempts at bulbs to get just what we wanted. Worked perfectly with everything from halogen to led, Tried a number of halogen and cfl before settling on 40w led that give off just the right amount of color and light. These are made of metal and are far superior to the plastic ones out there. I am not sure how they will hold up over the rainy season but am very please with them at this point.

I ordered this for an exterior wall facing the Pacific Ocean, so this light is going to be put to the test. It seems sturdy enough out of the box presentation was good and the build quality seems good. The mount is indeed 4.5" and measures exactly spot on. There are no lenses to protect the sockets (two sockets, one facing up, one facing down) so I do wonder if that will lead to premature failure as moisture and elemnts get in. On the positive side, no glass lenses to clean or break!

A really good looking light. It looks just like it does in the picture and is a nice down (and up) light for a contemporary home or office.

I didn't realize it had locking joints, so it took a bit of getting used to as I moved it around, loosened and locked it repeatedly until I found a position I preferred. We are going for the modern look in our home, thus the style initially attracted us. That said, I also like the chrome finish, giving the lamp a high quality appearance. Speaking of quality, overall the lamp is sturdy and well-built just make sure to lock it into place to prevent it from falling over after adjusting it.

About two months ago I bought two of these Lithonia Floodlights for two areas of my house to make it easier to see at night and for security purposes. I am very happy with this purchase. They are very reliable and emit a bright cool light (white/blue rather than white/yellow).

I will now provide you with some facts as noted on the box so I word it succinctly: As it explains on the box, the 22 watt LEDs have a life of 50,000 hours (each) compared to a typical 100 watt bulb that only lasts 3,000 hours. I am especially glad to be saving so much money over the year. In addition as noted the lower wattage (although comparably bright) saves on the electric bill, another plus.

The motion sensor is adjustable up to a 180 degree range and 70 feet with downward perimeter protection.

The lamp also has sensitivity and on-time adjustable knobs and the sensor has a manual override option. The two heads on the lamp are adjustable for light spread.

I am back to buy another one to replace a ten year old halogen fixture that has seen better days. It will be nice to not have to continually buy halogen bulbs anymore, too.

I ran into the blinking issue as well. I returned and got another thinking it was defective. The new light had the exact same problem. The problem is that the daylight sensor picks up the light when it turns on so it immediately turns off. The solution is turn the canisters so the protruding lip faces down. It should be aligned between the light canister and the motion sensor. This prevents the light from flooding onto the sensor. Worked like a charm. Note that it means you turn it opposite than all the marketing pictures I've seen for this product, including the one on Amazon. I subtracted a star because of the lack of instructions for this fix and that it was designed that way at all. However, I love having an LED and it behaves very well now. It's worth noting than you will see the standard blue hue of an LED light with this product.

I must be on my third motion security light in 8 years. Everything seems to be built like garbage lately. I decided to pay a little money for this highly rated one and the fact that the bulbs are LED may mean I don't have to keep crawling up the ladder to change bulbs. I've had it for 3 weeks now and it senses motion well and the light fills up my whole backyard as if it were one big light instead of two. If it has years of durability this will be the best light ever. I'm considering buying another one. Very satisfied so far.

Lights are installed by every indication according to instructions, but strobes continuously when activated by the motion detector. I have yet to get either of the 2 installed to stay on continuously, except in test mode. Lithonia customer service said light from the fixture was reflecting into the dusk-to-dawn sensor causing it to strobe and I should aim the lights away further from sensor and to reposition the motion detector head so that the sensor gets less light reflection. Not easy to do given the limited space under the angled eaves. Both professional installer & I are suspicious there is a design issue or sensor issue. Anyone with similiar problem?? I have 2 of the same fixture mounted on different parts of the house under the eaves and both have the same problem with strobing. Disabling the motion detector via the wall switch (per the instruction sheet) has no effect, the lights still strobe (which makes sense if it is the dusk-to-dawn sensor causing it to strobe).

I have purchased many, many motion detector lights for security and convenience over the years, but this was my first Lithonia purchase as well as my first LED light.

Compared to other lights for this purpose, LED or not, this is a well manufactured device. It worked correctly the first time only requiring some night time adjustment to get the lighting coverage I wanted. I did not have to repoint the motion detector at all after my initial pointing.

The output from the two LED heads which contain multiple LED's is very good when compared to other security lighting.

I installed it under the eave (easy to install) in the spring and the summer temperatures here in the Kansas City area have been in the 100's. So far not a problem at all with the light tolerating the direct sun exposure which far exceeded the high temps for the day. The white color reflects the sun light which also helps.

As usual, the Amazon ordering and receiving process was excellent.

In summary, a great purchase and I am going to get another one for the other side of the house this month.

First, let me start by saying I was excited to receive this lamp. I thought it would be cool, hip, and look fabulous in my new living room. However, that excitement quickly turned to disappointment as I started to assemble it ... and yes, it was exactly according to the directions given. Not to mention, if you look at it the wrong way, it scratches very easily. Also, good luck trying to put the base on ... if you don't experience total frustration, I will be surprised. Also, if you haven't scratched it up thus far, you will now. Once I stood it up vertically, it looks nice but don't touch it unless you have to. It's very wobbly. Yey. Not worth the $150.00 but maybe just $.50. Ugh.

I bought two of these, and I will say up front that they are sturdy and gorgeous. The one complaint involves the assembly process. It is difficult to attach the legs to the base. My son and I tried for an hour, then gave up. I finished the next night with another person's help. There is some sort of washer that doesn't fit around the bolt as well as it should, and the nut is difficult to thread onto the bolt. Sounds like it should be easy, I know, but it took a while. Here's a tip -you'll have to hold the lamp upside down to even attempt to attach the base, hence the need for two people. Again -these are really nice lamps, just have a friend ready and willing to help you with assembly.

The finished product is sturdy, stylish and a good value. Getting there requires patience and fune-tuning. As a veteran of dozens of difficult builds (Scandinavian furniture to elliptical machines), I've seen it all. This is a pretty straight-forward assembly. It can almost be done without reading the instructions. The primary frustration comes with attaching the lower supports to the base. This requires a few minutes of adjusting rods within the supports. The length of these rods is accomplished by simple righty-tighty, lefty-loosey adjustments. More lefty-loosey is needed to get the rods to pass thru the base in order to attach the securing washers/nuts. That's a little time-consuming, but my main beef is if you're not careful, you'll scratch-up the base while tweaking the rods and trying to get them in the base. My suggestion is to put masking tape around the base holes until everything has been bolted together. Once assembled, this lamp looks really sharp.

I have to agree and disagree with the previous reviewer. Yes, this item takes a bit of work to put together and even after, I noticed that it wobbled. However, I recently went to work on it again and tightened a loose bolt in the base and it is better than ever. The lamp is solid and quite beautiful. I have both the floor and desk version and they look great. Be patient, tighten everything well and you'll be rewarded.

This one is good. The light from the GE 62180 bulb is better, but that bulb looks a little funny in fixtures where the bulb lens is exposed and can be seen, due to the small size of the light enclosure and large white heat sink fins wrapping around the bulb. For those fixtures where the bulb is exposed, I recommend either ccrane.com's geobulb 3 (excellent!) or this bulb. This bulb is a little bigger and casts more of its light out the top rather than to the sides. The frosting to the glass is also a bit more coarse grained and gives the appearance of the bulb more texture. You can make out a bit where the led elements are which gives it a geometric pattern in appearance, if you want that effect. The frosting on the ccrane bulb is smoother.

Here's the upside to this bulb: the light is pure and daylight balance, low power consumption, very long life, low rf emissions, and quick startup.

Here's the downside: price (expect the costs of these bulbs to rapidly fall as they hit the mainstream) and the light is very focused. These bulbs are NOT suitable for lamps with shades, they should be used with highhats (ceiling mounts) only.

I got it in time and well packed, was easy to install. Can use luminescent bulbs. Both lamps have separate switch, easily operated. Lower lamp was getting hot with 60 W regular bulb, but now with save-energy one works perfectly. It is stable, but not too heavy, so I can bring it from room to room if I need.

We are in the commercial painting business and frequently work in areas where lighting is not yet installed. Wobble Light has proven to be more useful and very much more reliable than our previous halogen work light stands. The design of the dome, however, is lacking. The light assembly is necessarily heavy due to the weight in the bottom which keeps it upright. The spacing of the attachment screws for the dome is such that the makers decided to skip one screw where the handle is located. That makes for the handle getting broken in normal use. Surely we aren't the only ones with this complaint. After discovering this I now simply add a screw under the handle. The provision for it is there already, so it is simple to drill the hole in the dome and attach a nut and screw. Maybe the makers could do the same and make us all happy. The light is good enough that it is not a deal breaker, but it is agravating when such a simple fix isn't done at the source.

I saw this exact same lamp while shopping in a medium to high-end, independent furniture store (i.e. not a chain store where everything is cookie cutter style), and fell in love with it. The lamp looks great and provides plenty of light. However, after I had used the lamp for the first night I had it (it was on for 2-3 hours), the following morning the shade had shattered. Presumably this happened because the shade (made from glass) couldn't handle the heat from the lamp, and shattered as it cooled down overnight. I had followed the manufacturer's instructions when assembling the lamp, and the pieces were all intact when the lamp was delivered.

This lamp blended in beautifully with the rest of the table/countertop light fixtures throughtout the house (frosted glass, stainless steel finish). It's well constructed and perfectly balanced regardless of the position into which the gooseneck is tilted. The on/off switch is thoughtfully set in the base, making for a stable operation. After shopping the web and almost giving up, this was just what I was looking for!
