I have owned and own several Woods "Yellow Jacket" extension cords. I purchased this one to replace a stolen one. They're popular with thieves too! Its well-constructed plug and socket separate it from the look-alike cords. The Woods cord is well worth the extra money. Also, it doesn't get stiff in cold weather. If you are using this for a weed whacker or leaf blower only, you can get by with the Woods 12/3 cord for about half the price. If you are running an air compressor or anything that has a high current requirement, a 100' 12/3 cord just isn't enough get this one.

If you know how to use a 10 gauge cord this cord is great, and flexibility is great in sub-zero temps.

If you are like everybody else with previous reviews:

A 10/3 cord works very well if you need to run high amperage (i.e. air compressor, table saw, etc), or you are using the 100ft 10 gauge cord for a lead on a job-site for other cords to plug into.

So, why not use it for everything...

If you are using electrical power, power should only be used in one direction. The power that comes into your house comes from a number 4 wire, from there it goes to your sub-panel where it splits to different circuits in a residential standard 12 gauge. Then you plug in your band-new 10/3 cord which violates the direction. The power coming from the smaller 12 gauge does not carry enough power to properly use a 10 gauge cord, it would be the same amount of power you would get from a good 12/3. To plug your 10/3 into the proper outlet you need to find a construction twist lock 20amp (with a 10 gauge adapter) or you need to plug-in to a properly wired 20 amp outlet aka "winking man"

If that doesn't change your mind, go to the store and look at the price of a 10/3 and a 12/3 of the same length; then pick both of them up. You'll know when your dragging a 10/3 cable around behind you as you run a leaf blower or skill saw. Personally, I only use a 10/3 as a lead-cord or high amp and sitting still equipment like a compressor or table saw.

Case and point; if you have to ask what a 10/3 wire would be used for, you probably don't need it. Go with a good quality 12/3 (Yellow Jacket or ridgid.)

This extension cord is simply awesome. It's #10 wire, so it will safely carry a load around 30 amps (though the electrical connector on the end is only rated for around 15 amps.) Voltage drop over 100 ft is greatly lowered by virtue of the oversized conductors, so it's perfect for running a big load like an air compressor or welder. I use it to run a Hobart Handler 140 MIG welder and it works like a charm. It stays flexible in low temperatures and is very pliable, and the jacket is attractive and tough.

Almost all my tools, snow thrower, chain saw etc are electric powered. I became tired of buying cord sizes required for each specific tool. This one takes anything I use. Great stuff to have.

I ordered this cord from Boston Industrial through Amazon ,and they sent me an alternative cord without notifying me. The alternative cord is just fine, but it was annoying not to receive what I ordered. Be cautious when ordering through Boston Industrial....you may get an another brand without notification.

I really like the appearance of this lamp, and it has a nice weight to it. I do agree with the previous review, it is too short for most purposes.

I purchased it to use on the top of a cabinet that is about 30" high, but the lamp is too small for that piece. I have high ceilings, and the proportions just aren't esthetically pleasing, so I am using it as a bedside lamp. It's even a bit short for that purpose, as it really belongs on a tall piece. I may stack a couple of large books under it to give the added height.

Generally well constructed, but I need a taller lamp. This is more of a bedside lamp as it is a rather low profile. The bronze accents are nice and just what I needed. However, the wiring pole through the glass is silver which makes little esthetic sense. Arrived well packed and easy to assemble. But the silver interior given the bronze accents is why I have it rated it as only ok.

I purchased one of these about 6 months ago on a closeout sale from a local Fortunoffs store. It was good at first, with the exception that there is a lot of glare from the sides because the LED's are not recessed far enough. Other than that it ran cool and provided ample light for my needs. The length of the goose neck was not a problem and it supported the head well at a variety of angles without sagging. The problem is that it lasted less than 100 hours. The LED's began failing one row of 4 at a time till now only 1 LED flickers when you turn it on, the remaining 19 are off. Just before posting this review, I sent an e-mail to Adesso to see what they can do about it. Had it not failed, I would have given it 4 stars (I deduct 1 star for the side glare problem).

Here is the follow up:

This is a follow up to the review I wrote a few days ago. I just spoke to Kavita Bora, who is a customer service manager for Adesso, Inc. about my "eternity" lamp lasting less than 100 hours. Her response was that they offer no warranty on their items to the end user at all. There is no warranty registration card that comes with the item for this reason. She admitted that they often receive defective merchandise from their manufacturer in China and they only do returns to the retailers they do business with. The customers only recourse is through the retailer they purchaed the item from, the manufacturer, Adesso, Inc. will not stand behind the product at all. I cannot recommend anyone buy this product, or any other Adesso, Inc. product for this reason. I would like to lower my rating from 2 stars to 1 star, but I can't figure out how to do that.

I have to agree with the previous review. This was a great lamp for the first month that I had it. However, a single row of LEDs has begun to flicker and after reading the previous review, I am aware of what is to come. I cannot recommend this for anyone, especially for this price!

An attractive and functional lamp that I bought on sale from Levenger dot com. Within a few months, unfortunately, the LEDs began to fail one by one. Then the diffuser fell out of the fixture. In sum, a sleek design that could (and should) have been better than it is. Appears to simply be an example of surprisingly poor execution. Avoid.

If you have need of light in a focused area that won't disturb those around you, this is it. I didn't realize that limitation when I purchased it. If you need more light than that, get one of their gooseneck floorlamps I also have that and love it.

Another unhappy user. Really like the lamp, but the rows of LED's started to flicker after a few months, and now 50% of them have stopped working and the remaining ones flicker so much that impossible to use for reading. Seller says bulbs are not covered by warranty which may be fine for an ordinary lamp but ridiculous for an LED lamp as no easy way to replace them!!!

Avoid unless you want to pay $10/month for a reading light which is what I calculated mine ended up costing me.

I ordered this lamp because I was looking for something unique for my desk. The lamp came well packaged and in perfect working order. The lights adjust in different directions so they provide a variety of focal points. The only reason I did not give this lamp 5 stars is because the halogen bulbs that came with the lamp cast a yellowish light. I was hoping that the light would be more clear as some of my halogens have been in the past. I intend on looking for some replacement bulbs that have a more natural light. The color was much darker than it shows on the picuture. Actually it's more close to burgundy than bright shiny Red that you see on the picture. But I didn't retuned it because all other shades might have same problems except white and black.

My granddaughter wanted this chandelier more than anything else for her birthday. I bought it although it was over our price limit because she has never wanted anything so badly. She lives in another state so I had it shipped directly to her house. There are two missing pieces. The company is out of this country and my daughter is having trouble locating them. She can send it back to Amazon but then it won't be there for her birthday and that is so much trouble and extra money. Not sure how we will handle the problem at this moment but I would research and find a US company to buy from.
