Really, this is one of the most beautiful lamps I have owned.

The proportions of the base to shade are wonderful, which is the first thing that usually puts me off about lamps that arrive packaged with shades. This shade, too, was beautifully finished: no hanging threads or little scrapes. The shade is off-white, even a dark off-white (but not beige, at least in my brain's color catalog), NOT stark white. For me, the off-white is a little more forgiving of our Front Range dust (or the un-dusted dust of my living room!).

The base, itself, I find captivating. Ours is on a dark table in between two "butterfly" chairs. At least we call them butterfly chairs. Although these are from the 1950s, I doubt our nomenclature because I can't find any images on the Web that resemble ours. Nevertheless, with the open-wire, rounded shape of the chairs, by my "lights", this lamp is perfect. Our living room now needs a bit of catching up to this eye-catching base: either simple, simple or fussy-fussy. Other than those chairs, the rest of the room is middle-middle, which isn't a great fit for this lamp.

Another thing that would not be a great fit is lots of rowdies racing playfully around. The base is pretty narrow; the shade is pretty wide. Tip City, anyone? I have a feeling that even a mild -say, less than 3.0 -earthquake would be a sad event here. I think I might try a way of anchoring the lamp underneath. Frankly, I don't want to find out whether it will work.

One more thing. You might want to check the dimensions of the lamp for your space. The lamp doesn't tower (or loom) like so many lamps, but I think it would be a bit large for a nightstand. Not checking this out might cause a disappointment, I think.

The packaging worried me because the box was so compact relative to the lamp size. It was a relief to see that packing material studier than the ubiquitous air-pillows had been cunningly wedged around the lamp and shade. Everything seems to have been in perfect condition, including the little wooden globe that serves as a finial.

This lamp appeals to a particular taste. If that retro-modern taste is yours, too, this might work for you.

The look of this thing is awesome... We put it in our church pool room above the pool table and it looks great... There are really just two minor complaints I have...

The first is that the actual wiring wire was fairly short. Our connection point in the ceiling wasn't in the center of the room, so we have the two chains that go straight up, and then there is this goofy wire that kinda goes the opposite way... Thankfully our ceiling is black so it does hide pretty well.

The second thing is that the lamp shades start to get a bit uneven if they get bumped this is a very small nit pick, and shouldn't be a big deal to most, but again, this is in a youth room at a church, and it gets banged up probably way more than most people ever would.

Overall though a decent HUGE light!

I think I spent hours looking for a simple, modern light fixture for my half bath. I finally found this one that fit the bill so I ordered it.

First, the instructions provided are nearly useless. I had to just guess and figure it out by myself. Second, the quality of the fixture isn't that great. The metal base that goes along the wall is OK, but it's not easy to screw in a light bulb in the socket; I was worried that the glass part of the bulb was going to break away from the metal spiral. Also, the metal bracket provided did not really fit my standard junction box in the wall.

The big letdown is the glass piece. Yes, it is frosted, but not via etching (which I believe should have been done). Instead, it seems to be some sort of spray-on frost that comes off easily just via a fingernail scratch. I would not wipe the glass piece with a wet rag, for fear that more frost will come off.

If you are considering this item, just know what you are getting before you order it.

I was surprised by a couple of the comments here. I was so pleasantly surprised when it arrived and even more so when it was installed. It is just lovely in the spare bedroom. Very dainty and depending on the light bulb you use, you can get a very warm glow or a very bright white glow. I wish there was a way to add a photo and I would do so.

This fixture is inexpensive, but I didn't expect the metal on the chandelier to actually be partially chrome painted plastic. Other reviews warn that it is cheaply made and I ignored it because it's pretty. It IS pretty, but even the glass teardrops that hang from it are not GLASS, they are PLASTIC. I had glass prisms of my own to hang from it.

The seller was fine and the item came on time. You can get one with no plastic for the same price.

I was looking for a new desk lamp. I really like the color temperature that a halogen light puts off, but I hate the heat they generate. LEDs solve the heat problem, but I don't like the color temp of the light they often generate. The Prism solves this problem by allowing you to dial-in the color temp you want.

I was able to get exactly the light I wanted with minimal heat. I thought the price was a bit high for a desk lamp, but given the functionality I got, I am happy with the purchase.

This is a really really good/great lamp. It's easy to maneuver into place. The color of the light is easy to soften/brighten. The instructions that came with it actually note that over time the nut that secures the LED arm to the base may loosen (from frequent movement) and may have to be tightened. It's the type of bolt that can be tightened with a coin. Very easy. Lamp seems sturdy. It's priced well here for what you get. I'll update this review if anything changes with the function of this lamp. For now, I really love it!

My desk has been lamp free for a year-and-a-half and I just couldn't take it anymore. I also have a hard time making decisions, and with the plethora of desk lamps on Amazon, it was taking a while. I ordered this lamp after looking at about a thousand, and couldn't be happier. I'm in law school and sometimes stay up late studying. My overhead lights weren't cutting it due to my shadow covering the text (so distracting). This lamp cures the problem, stylishly. I love the fact that you can change the type of light emitted--it will be nice for the times when I'm actually falling asleep in my book (there's a very bright setting) and also for when I just want a little extra light. The touch feature to turn on the lamp is also great, very modern.

This is a great fan for this price. I particularly like it because it mounts directly to the ceiling with NO downrod at all. I had a hard time finding a true ceiling hugger at the home improvement stores. I'm an electrician and I've installed plenty of fans. This one is solid. One thing however the color is a little more dark brown than the picture makes it seem. Which didn't matter to me, but my Wife was kind of bummed.

I love this fan. It looks wonderful mounted on celing. It was easy to install and perfect for low ceilings. I have seen no difference in air flow between my old regular fan and this low profile fan. I would recommend this to anyone. The fan is "as decribed" 2 colors on fan blades and both were nice...once I saw them, I had trouble chosing which color I prefered. I does not include a light,but this is what I wanted for the low ceiling. You can purchase a light seperatly and I have seen some really nice brushed metal lights for little money. When I need my next fan, I will purchase this one...if it is still available. Enjoy! Any questions, then please ask and maybe I can answer. The lamp itself is quite nice; it has a sort of ridged, tapered body. Not perfectly made; you can see imperfections in the lines, but it sort of reminds you that this is ceramic. The orange color is nice and bright -more of a tangerine, especially when the light is on. The shade doesn't use a harp; it uses a bulb clip which means you see the shadow of the wire goting from the top of the shade to the clip; and the shade is often a bit crooked because it's not screwed down. Minor, but something to keep in mind. Overall, it's a great lamp for the price if you're looking for something with a bold color.

I ordered this for our bedroom remodel. As with all ceiling fans I had to install a stronger brace to support the weight.Pass & Seymour 22200 Retrofit Reiker Fan Brace with 25-Cubic-Inch Electrical Box The included bracket comes with a loop and the top of the fan motor has a hook. so the fan can be wired without constantly supporting it with your third hand. That sure makes for a quick install. I ended up getting a Hunter remote/module with it so I can turn the light off from bed. Hunter 27148 Fan/Light Remote Control It is nice in the summer when you go to bed hot but get cold around 3 AM. just hit the button and it shuts off. The fan runs quietly and has no wobble. I really like the oak colored blades. They go with the rest of the furniture. It does come with the tiny light bulbs. I would rather have the full sized bulbs. Beyond that we really like the fan.

Hunter 20182 52 Inch Studio Series Ceiling Fan Antique Brass with Walnut/Medium Oak BladesI purchased this fan as the price was right, it had the light kit we wanted and because it was a Hunter. I've had positive experiences in the past with Hunter fans so I wasn't hesitant to purchase another.

HOWEVER, the fan was a horror to assemble and install. There were so many pieces and terrible instructions!

The wiring was like a rat's nest and had two wires that were out of the assembly fitting.

My husband was an electrician for 40 years and he had to repair the wiring before the fan could be installed. A laymen would not have been able to hang this. He said if his forman in NYC ever received this shoddy product, he would have sent it back immediately.

We did eventually get it to work and the fan is quiet and steady but the electrical assembly was awful.

These fans will provide a long time of use and Hunter stands behind their fans as well with their warranty.

Hunter....the ONLY fans to buy. This one replaced an old, old Hunter

fan that was still running but we needed a larger one in that room

now used as an office instead of a bedroom. This fan is not only VERY

pretty...but the wood slats are finished with light or dark sides so

you have your choice which shows. The brass finish is beautiful...and

the light fixtures are pretty too. The chain on this fan is unique and

has several speeds. I can't say enough about Hunter fans...they are all

we have in our home and the one we took down we donated. It was 15 yrs

This slim, handsomely-designed under-shelf lighting unit provides two levels of illumination from its pair of Xenon lamps (similar to halogen but longer-lasting). The hinged, magnet-held translucent lems makes bulb-changing simple and quick. For some reason, the familiar keyhole screw mounting was changed, now requiring that the unit be directly screwed to the shelf or cabinet from below---a more difficult alternative if the mounting area is not easily visible. This lamp is gorgeous in a minimalistic, modern, clean, semi-industrial fashion. It was easy to assemble, gives a great quality of light through the shade, and, even better, is height adjustable. The little lever on the side is functional and gives quite a bit of variation in height. It seems as if you get at least a foot, if not more, of variation in height the lamp can be set at. The chrome is shiny and looks great. The shade is a nice vanilla/white hue. The shade is a bit wide though, so check the dimensions of where you want to locate it before you order. It fits where we wanted, but I looked at the measurements and was still a little surprised when we got it set up. Not that it looks bad. The proportion of shade to lamp is perfect. Just the shade does have a larger diameter than is common. The shade is perfect height to black light going right into your eyes while walking by it or sitting near it, but still lets a very nice quality of light out the top and bottom. I'm really, really pleased with this product. I always worry when ordering something like this online, but I am incredibly happy. Easy assembly, great finish, great light, looks better in person. Very happy! Goes perfect with the matching table lamp too! We got both, and again, so happy we did. (If you read my review for the table version, it's the same cut and pasteBut I feel the same about both lamp versions. They are both great)

I received this lamp as a gift. The shade is massive and prevented the lamp from fitting into the corner where I needed it to go. The shade is also a weird upside down type that balances across the lamp under the light bulb rather than screwing into place on top of it like a normal lamp. So I cannot replace the shade with a smaller one. I wish I could return this lamp but again it was ordered for me as a gift so I guess I'm going to have to donate it and buy a new lamp. Make sure you check the dimensions and make sure you have plenty of room to house this lamp and its gigantic shade before you buy because it is very difficult to customize it to your space.
