Ten bucks may seem like a lot for a flood light. It may not be justified if you just want some light somewhere like a stair case or a hallway. But if you are reading, cooking, eating, working and actually living under the light, it really makes an enormous difference. I had no idea until I actually took the plunge.

I replaced 5 standard floods in my family room, which was seeming rather dreary. I turned on the lights and wow! every item in the room glowed bright and warm. All the colors came alive. My busy wife noticed it right away. And, lower wattage than before! (60W vs 65W)

I'm not sure if it's the halogen, or the "reveal" (which is filtration baked in to the glass itself) but the combination is absolutely stunning! Way to go, GE engineering!

Ten bucks is a barrier, but Amazon Prime was cheaper than at any of the local stores with CA sales tax.

Life is short. Treat yourself to some warmth and beauty.

Bulb is ok, but don't waste your money. Spend a little more and buy a Philips LED floodlight bulb. They are dimmable and will cut your electric bill by 30% in warm weather months due to the less energy used and much lower heat given off by the bulb.

I probably had this on for an average of 2 hours a day for 4 months before it burned out. In my opinion that's terrible for what is supposed to be an expensive, high-quality bulb. The box says it should last 2.7 years when used 3 hours a day. It was nice while it lasted, but that's beside the point. Others might not have the bad luck I did, but I can only review the actual bulb I received.

This is the ELV (Electronic Low Voltage) dimmer used with low voltage lighting having electronic transformers (as opposed to MLV Magnetic).

After recently installing a cool low-voltage halogen chandelier, I found that my conventional $20 dimmer caused it to buzz and flicker due to the embedded 12V transformer in the fixture. The solution is an ELV unit such as this one. It otherwise works identically to any other dimmer, but without the flicker and buzz when used with low voltage lighting.

Really is no other choice if you have low voltage lighting that you want to dim.

very easy to install. I had purchased a 600W Lutron occupancy sensor dimmer (which was much less expensive) to try to be fancy with my kitchen electronics but all it did was cause the lights to flicker like a strobe light. After speaking with WAC lighting, they recommended this low voltage electronic dimmer. It's always good to call the lighting supplier first to see what dimmers they've tested their product with. It would have made the project that much faster. No worries, thought, as Amazon easily returned the original dimmer and, although this one was double the price, it arrived fast and my kitchen under cabinet lighting is working perfectly...minus the occupancy sensor option.

Works well with LED lights that need a low voltage dimmer. We have found that when working with LED lighting you need to be sure to research your lights, and match the dimmer to the lights. Some require magnetic v. electronic dimmers and drivers. I like that I can set the dimmer and then toggle on and off.

This dimmer was used with three Commercial Electric 4" LED Disk Light T47, which is notorious for buzzing with most LED light dimmers. This device works perfectly. However, one note that wasn't mentioned in any of the literature that I read while researching for a dimmer: This dimmer requires 3 wires to be connected! It must have distribution power (black) directly to it, then the other two wires yellow and neutral white wires sent to the light fixtures. As I was replacing a switch in an existing circuit where power is sent to the light fixtures and the switch is installed as two power leads where it interrupts the power to the light fixtures, this dimmer would not work. I had to rewire the switch circuit to accommodate three wires. This could be a deal breaker in some older homes.

I have had one of these for 1.5 years and just ordered another. They are very expensive, but are well designed.

Pros:

Beautiful finish

Heavy quality feel

Heavy duty attachment bracket

Single attachment point can be located on stud for extra strength

Plastic rings make roll slide easily

Very easy to change roll

Ball on end of hook does not slow rotation of roll, but is good a preventing the roll from slipping off.

Cons:

These things are expensive! Close to $100 with shipping.

It only comes with the hook in one direction. I have installed both of mine so that the roll is pulled into the hook when removing paper. I have not tried it the other way where removing paper would pull the roll toward the ball and potentially out of the hook. This could still work, because the ball is fairly good at preventing the roll from coming off, but if at all possible, I would install it so that the roll is pulled into the hook instead of out of it when removing paper.

I have noticed that the plastic rings are not made of a wear resistant plastic and over time they wear down, but this does not seem to affect much, as the roll still slides well. Use of an Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene plastic would have been better.

This fan was an easy installation. runs quiet and moves a good amount of air. I installed this fan outside under my deck, over a patio. I bought this fixture from Home Depot 4 years ago. 1 of 2 ballasts ($35) and 1 of 2 CFLs ($8) failed within 4 years. I don't think that I saved $43 worth of electricity in that time. The CFL has mercury in it, so I have to take it to a hazardous waste disposal site (Home Depot accepts them). It's a lot more trouble than replacing an incandescent bulb every once in awhile. Most of my incandescent bulbs have lasted longer at a fraction of the cost.

This is a great light and illuminates our patio well. Three bulb sockets allow 3 Phillips LED bulbs chosen for their golden tint to still throw enough light out. It is heavy, but an anchor is mounted on the wall first, and the rest of the fixture screws on. While attaching the wires, your hands are kept free as there is a steel cable and hook to keep the assembly hanging on the anchor until it can finally be screwed in. The light is rated for WET and single frosted tube slides in from the top sealing nicely on the metal rest at the bottom so few insects can get in. Will buy some more in this style.

Looks wonderful in our craftsman-style house. I agree with the reviewer who said it is best with a chain added. Pain in the butt to pry open the links and weave the cord through the chain (12-inch white chain purchased from a home center), but well worth the effort. Hung it from a white plant bracket suspended between two kitchen windows and used cord cover to hide the cord running across the top of the window frame and down the other side. Everyone who sees it admires it.
