Cheap Adesso 3672-01 Middleton 150-Watt 63-Inch Floor Lamp with Fabric

I ordered this lamp several days ago, and I received it pretty quickly. I had no problems with the package, but the contents were another matter. If you look at the picture for this lamp, you can see that the top portion has those screens, which are held in place by pieces of wood that are slotted on two sides, the idea being that when you assemble the lamp, you slide the screens into the slots. All well and good, however there were only THREE poles with slots in them! The fourth pole was the same size (the top poles are shorter than the three levels below the top); BUT, it had NO SLOTS in it! This made assembly impossible. So I contacted Amazon and before the end of the day, I had a return label so I could send back the order, AND, Amazon also placed a second order for me to get another lamp, which then arrived in just a couple of days. (amazing, for me)

Meanwhile in the day in between, I stopped at the local UPS store and shipped the prepaid package with the defective contents back.

So I opened the new box, and everything was going fine until I got to the last (lowest) shelf installation. This time, one of the poles did not have a set screw buried in the leg end, so there was no way to fully attach the last leg on both the top and bottom. For me, this isn't that horrible of a problem because I can go buy some wood putty, fill the empty slot, and after it drys, drill a new hole and screw in the last remaining screw.

Here is my advice to others: If you get a box with something defective in it, and choose to return it to Amazon for replacement, DO NOT SHIP the original order back until you received and verify that the second order is totally in working order. Amazon gives you 30 days to get that original box back. Make use of the time to guarantee you have one working product. In this case, I would have replaced the bad leg with a good leg from the first order. Better to ship back a box with two things wrong in it.

By the way, had not all this happened, I would have given this lamp a 5 star rating. I love how it looks. It has that Oriental touch to the design, and matches my beautiful hand made Oriental quilt on my bed, sewn by my lovely daughter who has her own fabric & sewing shop in Wolmelsdorf PA. As a part of her business, she also creates things like custom made quilts for her customers. She loves doing custom stitching for all sorts of projects.

While assemblying these were very easy and straight forward, all you need is a Phillips screw driver. One of the light switches had the positive wire not wrapped around the switch. I ended up breaking the switch to try to get it open and fix the problem so now I'm on my way to the store to get a replacement switch. Other note. They say get a 150 watt incandescent or 42 CFL bulb. that's a joke. Get a 150 watt CFL.

I highly recommend this great product.

I needed a new desk lamp to use at the dining room table when I spread out references for a large project. A normal table lamp simply did not provide enough illumination. As this is the first LED lamp I have ever owned, I was a little concerned that it would not be bright enough. Well, I was pleasantly surprised: it is quite bright. Also, the adjustable positioning features of this lamp allow me to point the light exactly where it needs to be. The lamp has three brightness settings; but I always use it (for reading) at the brightest setting.

According to the product description, this lamp produces 432 Lumens at 8.37 watts. I connected this lamp through a Kill A Watt (P3 International P4400 Kill A Watt Electricity Usage Monitor), and here are the power consumption readings: brightest setting 7 watts; middle setting 5 watts; lowest setting 3 watts. This is quite a nice savings, compared to ordinary light bulbs.

I bought this lamp for normal, every-day use; however, a month after it arrived, I had the opportunity to use it for backup lighting when the power line to my neighborhood was accidentally cut. I discovered that this LED lamp will run while connected to a modified-sine-wave inverter (supplied from a 20 amp hour battery). Since a CFL bulb cannot be operated with most modified-sine-wave inverters, this means that this LED lamp is a good choice for backup lighting. Since this lamp has even lower power consumption than a CFL bulb, you can maintain lighting on a battery-powered inverter for considerably longer.

I was looking around searching for a nice LED desk lamp. I looked at other online retailers but they were very expensive. I came across Prism-lightening randomly and saw this lamp and it seemed perfect and it had a much better price. I choose the metallic grey one with anti-glaring. I have had this lamp for around a month or so. Very nice quality. Good light for reading, studying. Very Stylish. If I could make one change, it would be to make the base just a little bit heavier ... that way when you adjust the angle of the arm it would be more secure. Sometimes the base lifts up off the desk when I am moving the arm. Other than that, very satisfied.

Summary first:

I received the gray. An excellent color with aluminum accents. I think it looks better in person than in the pictures.

The base is plastic with metal inside and heavy enough for stability. The lamp is made of good quality plastic and some metal. Overall solid quality construction. The LED's are recessed in the thin lamp arm section so they don't shine in your eyes. The diffuser works well and evenly lights work area with no glare. Power consumption is very low at 8.4W on max brightness. The lamp is just barely warm after hours of use. Lamp control is by touch button similar to a touch screen on a smartphone. Touch button is lighted when off. There is no separate on/off button.

I love this lamp and would not hesitate to buy it again. The longer I have it the more I like it.

Light output: Max 500 lumen. For comparison 400 Lumens= 40W incandescent and 800 Lumens= 60W incandescent. Keep in mind that this lamps light is reflected down so it will appear to put out more light.

Dimming: 3 levels. No separate on/off, so you have to cycle down from high, med, low to off. No big deal for me. Touch control works well similar to a smart phone touch screen.

Light color: Halfway between warm white and bright white on the color spectrum. A good choice in my opinion. Not too white like office fluorescent lighting.

Light diffuser: Works well. You can easily see the individual LED's looking directly at them, but the lamp diffuser evenly lights your desk or work area. The LED lamp arm swivels about 15 degrees.

Adjustability of lamp:

1) BASE swivels only 45 degrees left or right. 90 degrees or more would be much better, but not a deal breaker for me.

2) VERTICAL arm adjusts nearly flat front or back. (almost 90 degrees forward and almost 90 degrees backwards.

3) LAMP ARM will fold down flush with the vertical arm and 45 degrees higher than horizontal. Sorry if that description is confusing.

4) LAMP ARM TILT is only about 15 degrees. This is enough tilt to keep the lamp from shining in your eyes.

Note: The lamp joint(s) do creek a little when brand new. This does not last long.

LED life:

You should NEVER have to replace any of the LED's. They are made of silicon. The same stuff as your computer microprocessors are made from (Intel) though the manufacturing process is much different. The built in power supply is much more likely to fail before any of the LED's.

Emergency Lighting: Since this lamp uses so little power it can be used as emergency lighting if you have some type of emergency power source either generator or battery with 12 DC to AC 110V.

LED lighting costs have come down a lot but are still expensive. Still a good value at less than $100 considering the LED's will last a very long time, good light color, 3 light levels and excellent construction, materials and very low power consumption.

I also have the Prism TLC-4300BK (more expensive) that has 3 light color option and a few extra features. I always use it on the white color. Great lamp to, if you don't mind the extra cost.

i like this light. i don't mind the 'tap three times' to turn it off .. minor inconvenience.

my wife has to use it and she is kinda picky. she loves it, too.

it's bright, doesn't monopolize desk space, is fairly adjustable.

minor gripes: no shades on it. i sit on the other side of it while watching tv and she is at her desk.

i had to add a shade so it wouldn't always shine in the corner of my eye.

light itself swivels forward and backward but not that much. should be wider swivel.

i have been missing though two bronze screws to mount it (it mounts with 2 screws from the bottom and 2 from the top), maybe that was the design, so i put the bronze set on the bottom since thats where you gonna see it, but replaced top ones with gold screws provided (i think those were electrical).

My only other comment is that trying to put a light bulb in those cans is a little pain in a butt due to the length of those and size BUT, how often do you do that? and ultimately it gives you this very nice look...

i have mounted mine upside down (from the picture), due to the distance and such..and it looks amazing~!

This light and camera work exactly as described. Purchased on Amazon for $78 w/ free shipping. Motion sensor works up to 40-feet, and the 100-watt halogen bulb lights up just like any other light you'd find at your local home improvement store. Add to it a convenient security camera and you've got a great product.

Pros:

1) Works as advertised.

2) Disregard silver_diamond2007's 1-star "review" and youtube video about interference with wifi. When I e-mailed him whether or not he changed broadcast channels on the unit to avoid interference with his router, his reply was "How do you change channels?" Sigh... All that time to write a negative review and make a youtube video, and no time to READ THE MANUAL to resolve the problem. This light has 4 broadcast channels, which can be changed on the light by removing the rubber cover on the light's bottom side, and moving the switch. I tested it, and channel 2 interfered with my Linksys G router, but channels 1, 3, and 4 had no problems at all.

3) The video does not "washout/whiteout" when it's dark and the floodlight suddenly turns on.

4) The camera also transmits AUDIO.

Cons: (why I removed 1 star)

1) There's no mounting gasket (as other lights have) between the wall and the back of the unit, so the elements can get seep in behind. If you're installing it on a flat surface, it isn't that big a deal, but stucco is a different matter. Either way, I'd put a bead of caulk around the edge to keep the elements out.

2) There's a dial to adjust the sensitivity of the photosensor, but there's no dial to adjust the sensitivity of the motion sensor itself. The instructions say to adjust the position of the motion sensor, but that isn't always an option for your application because you'd be changing the angle of the camera too.

This is the coolest thing I have purchased in a long time. I didn't attach it to the house like instructions say. I attached it to a board, wired a male 3 prong plug onto it, used a hook on the back and now I can put it anywhere an extension cord will reach. I hung it by the Hummingbird feeder,and now I can watch what's going on outside on my TV! At night I can hang it anywhere that I want a security light and camera. I was looking to replace my back flood light (motion detection) that stopped working. I wanted to add a rear camera to my security system and merge the two ideas together. I could not locate a twin 100 Watt standard flood light camera system anywhere that used a wireless transmisson. I called just about every company out there and there are all discontinued. So I settled with the Cooper Lightning MAC100W. Out of the box and working was approx 30 minutes. Most of the time was spent finding the right circuit breaker to kill the power and opening/destroying the box for recycle. That's how easy it is to install. You will need silicone caulk to seal the unit to the mount plate and it does STATE that in the instructions. However Cooper does not supply a foam or weatherproof gasket. I recommend using the wire nuts supplied and using electrical tape on your connections to make it safe.

PROS:

Easy to install if you a replacing a current flood light that is already wired.

Camera is clear during the day and fairly wide angle so you can see enough of an area. NOTE: It is not hi-def. It cannot zoom, pan ot tilt.

Set up of the wireless receiver is easy. Plug in the A/C adapter to an outlet. Connect the RCA connectors to the TV or DVR, tune to the correct input, turn the switch to on and poof.

Motion detection is easy to set-up. Testing setting makes it a snap.

Audio is decent.

Camera is always on (day and night).

Does not interfere with my WiFi network or 5.8/6.0 Ghz wireless phones.

CONS:

Marginal light with only 100 Watts of power. If you need lots of light, this unit will disappoint you.

Video feed does roll from time to time. There does appear to be some interference when my son is playing his Wii.

No night vision capability. If it's night your picture will be black unless something moves and turns the motion light on.

Camera and motion detector are not independant of each other, meaning they are in the same housing so they must aim in the same direction. Not a real bad thing, but worth mentioning.

Adjusting the length of the mounting studs that hold the unit to the mount/wall takes practice. Test fit the unit before you apply caulk. Once you have the correct stud projection through the unit, tighten the lock nuts to keep the studs from turning. Then you can install the white decor nuts that hold the unit up. I recommend small #8 stainless steel lock washers with your set-up. You can get them at a local hardware store or Home Depot. Remember to factor the lock washers into your stud projection.

Other than what is listed above, I recommend this product. I was able to feed the video and audio into my 16 channel Q-See DVR and I'm able to view it on my iphone with MEye app. It did not interfere with my other 2 cameras and wireless systems.

I had to remove 1/2 a star since it did not provide sufficent light to illuminate my backyard like the twin 100 Watt standard flood light I had. I realize its half the power rating. The other 1/2 star was due to the rolling video from time to time.

ORIGINAL REVIEW

I've been using this Hunter fan for a year now and we love it. It was not too hard to install myself (I purchased it as a replacement fan.), it looks great, and the fan is extremely quiet. The 52 inch size is for larger rooms and provides strong air movement. My wife and I can feel the air movement even though we have 9' ceilings. This is my fifth Hunter fan and in my opinion, Hunter fans have the best balance of any fan on the market. I would like to add that all five of my Hunter ceiling fans are still in service and I am shopping for a sixth to replace another brand of fan.

Now for the story on the lights. The fan comes with four 40W incandescent candelabra bulbs. Since buying this fan, I've learned that Federal law (Energy Policy Act of 2005 ) requires ceiling fans to have a 190W limiter on the lights installed. That's why you will get dimming when you exceed the total watt limit (190W) with incandescent bulbs. When you use florescent bulbs, there is a problem reaching the minimum resistance required for the florescent bulbs and that causes the bulbs flicker. If you use the four 40W incandescent bulbs provided, the lights works great with no flicker. If you want to use florescent bulbs, I found that using one incandescent bulb with three 13W (60W equivalent) florescent bulbs stopped the flicker. (I believe the incandescent bulb is acting like a ballast for the CFLs by increasing the resistance above the minimum.) Whatever the reason, it works for me.

My wife and I love this fan. As I mentioned, it is quiet and the air blowing on us makes us feel cooler and I don't have to run my A/C as much. I recommend this fan, as long as you understand the full situation with the lights.

I am currently remodeling our kitchen and I wanted the metal on the fan to coordinate with the drawer pulls on my cabinets. This matched nicely and I'm very pleased with the look. I was also looking for a lot of light and I was glad that this one had the 4 lights that were not encased in a globe. Great fan and works perfectly!

After looking at many, many fans with light kits, I settled on this one because it had FOUR lights instead of the more popular three light kits. In the past, we have been able to increase wattage of bulbs/lamps above the "recommended maximum wattage." Thinking that 40w would be too dim for the sewing room in which the fan/light was to be placed, I figured we'd simply use 60w bulbs. However, this is not possible. The light kit either flickers OR dims (depending on the type of bulb used) after only a few seconds. So...if you order this fan/light, make sure you only need "mood lighting" not actual task lighting.

I would not have ordered this if I had known.

I got this fan from the Amazon refurb warehouse. It ran fine for about a week, then developed a low buzz. It looks very arty and does not take up a lot of space, also puts out a good amount of air, even on low. I wish it had one speed lower as we only need it for white noise when we sleep. My husband has tinnitus so he cannot hear the buzzing and it is quieter (and much nicer looking) than our previous fan so we are keeping it. It may get relegated to a different room if I can't get used the buzz.

I bought 2 of these lamps for our bedroom nightstands , and was expecting to put a small 15 watt (60 watt equivalent) SMALL based CFC bulb in them so I could read, but all that fits is a tiny small based night light. So I changed the lamp harps to a slightly taller one, but the finial didn't fit, it was loose. I added some teflon tape, and the finial fit great. The workmanship and colors on the lampshade is beautiful and even prettier than the picture, but the lamp harp needs to be a little taller. Overall, now that I added the lamp harps, I love them.

It states that the lamp has a 15 inch assembled height. It is a little under 13 inches in height, which includes the little ornamental "fob" on top which screws onto the shade. The product was well packaged and arrived undamaged. When lit, the major colors shown are gold, (not orange as described)brown and green. I do wish they had been as tall as described, but will keep them regardless.

The bracket that extends up from the lamp to form a base to hold the shade (the harp) is too low. You can put a bulb in it, but the top of the bulb will be off to the side of the harp. It should fit under it, and it is not good to be putting stress on the bulb holder by bending it off to the side. You'll need to take a pliers and unscrew the nut and washer and move them higher on the threaded bolt so that the shade will rest higher to accommodate the bulb. Lamp base and shade are very pretty.

The product was even nicer than the picture. The globes are heavy glass a nice surprise since I thought they'd be plastic. I got it for a good price and the shipping was prompt, so I'm pleased. My only "complaint" is that the invoice was so heavily taped on the reverse side of the mailing label, that it was impossible not to tear it when opening the package.

received 1 lamp in an old and damaged box and the lens was broken bot they were replacements for existing lamps and i used the old one. The other lamps box was old and tired and looked like it was stored in a building that had a water leak that soaked the box but it worked Ok.

This was perfect for my bathroom, I really liked that it is rated for 100 watt bulbs unlike most bathroom fixtures that are only rated for 60 watt bulbs. The product is clearly well made and I am very happy with it!

The decision to purchase this light was for a set of industrial unit facades. They are modern, and accent the new facades well. When the lamps arrived, we were impressed by their heavy duty manufacture as well as the quality of the lamp. The gasket for the lamp is made out of silicone which will last much longer than polymer. Great overall product and will modernize the look of our units!
