At this price, you'd think these fixtures would come on when you flip the switch and then stay on without flickering and strobing. Well, they don't. I suspect it's due to inferior electronics because the problems are very transient from fixture to fixture, but always present somewhere among the 20 fixtures I had installed by a very competent electrician. Of all the purchases I made in a major remodel, this is the one I regret the most. This was $1,500 worth of product and they are simply aggravating. Having to climb up onto a kitchen counter to re-set a strobing fixture on top of cabinets near the ceiling every time I turn them on gets old real fast. On top of all that, they have very inconsistent color rendition, very noticeable when shining onto a white ceiling. The reseller I got these from no longer carries them and American Fluorescent, the manufacturer, won't respond to e-mails. Maybe they know these things were "not ready for prime time." Steer clear of these.

Dimensions are 0.9" x 6" x 9.25" approx. It is small enough to put two or three beneath a 3ft kitchen cabinet. You will need at least two per 3ft cabinet, and perhaps three if you want really bright light. It works well, giving sufficient illumination, although you will not be blinded by light. I bought six of them, and the odd LED went out right from the beginning, but no more blew out. I am still using them, and like their light, their looks and illumination. Their illumination is special, because the light is spread out over the whole panel. Many LED illuminators have two or three or so very bright LEDs that are a bit blinding in one spot. These just plug in the wall, while if you want to hardwire them, you have to buy an extra box, which is about a third the size of the light itself and even a bit thicker. The color temperature is variable. Some of the units I bought had a yellowish light, while others were more like white light. I will be buying more, and I expect they will last a long time. Mine have been in for about 18 months, as I write.

Its now a number of years since I wrote this review The lights have very slowly dimmed over time, and two out of about 12 of them flicker on their most bright setting. There are two settings operated by a small push switch on the face of the device. The less bright setting causes the flickering to stop.

Bought 10 units for under and over cabn lighting. I have had to replace 4 of the 10 units in less than a year. The units begin to flicker, then go out. So far no cost to replace, but concerned after the warranty runs out.

My children joke about this lamp after my husband told them that it was "hundreds of dollars." You won't laugh at this though. It is high quality, child proof, knock-over proof (so far), and makes a great reading lamp. This is also recommended to treat seasonal depression for the winter blues in gloomy weather. The only downfall is that you can't count on this to light up a room. There is actually kind of a haze created above the lamp. No problem when sitting under it.

I am very disappointed by this lamp, especially because I was guided by the reviews posted by other customers. I bought it to use as a bedside table reading lamp. First, it is not beautiful or elegant in any way to my eye, but very utilitarian in appearance. Secondly, despite the anti-glare filter, the light is very harsh. Third, although it has three levels of intensity, all are too bright. Fourth, it does not "telescope" as advertised, but merely rotates on the hub. Fifth, it is not as well-constructed as I had hoped. The lamp rotates at the central hub and at the base of the light, and both screw-like connectors tend to slip and look like they will wear out. For the price, I expected something better made, better looking, and not as glary.

It probably works better as a desk lamp. I will have to return it.

I bought 4 of these to redecorate our kitchen that just had recessed can lights. The difference in the room is amazing! It's more light but much warmer than before, really changed the feel of the kitchen. So easy to install....hardest part was getting them all exactly the same in length. Description says 8" is shortest but you can actually get them to go shorter. I've got mine at 3" and they are perfect! and the glass is beautiful too!

Installed two of these were there were existing can lghts above a kitchen island.

Looked at other ways to chang out the existing can fixtures. They were both going to take to long and cost a lot more.

All you have to do is remove the existing trim ring and lamp screw in the new scoket and adjust for lenght. Takes about ten minutes. To make fine adjustmets on length there is a existing wing nut inside most can fixtures which you can use to get the length of both fixtures the same,it is what the existing socket is attached to. When you are done you have a great new look for were the old can lights were.

Bought this to update the lighting over my kitchen island. It was easy, and they look great! As others have said, you will need to be patient to get the cords the same length. Let them hang for a day or two to "iron out the kinks", then try again. It might take a few tries. But this is a great product, and for the money, a real value! Highly recommend.

This light is the style I wanted for my bathroon. Installing it didn't seem too bad, 'cept it's really hard to get the cover plate tight up against the ceiling. I got some of that light green putty stuff and stuck it to the ceiling with that. It sure would be nice if they still made the retractable lights like they did in the 50's. That would make this light much simpler to use.

I was very happy with the quality of the product. The color, size and material is as I expected, if not higher quality. Light output is very bright. We tested both settings of the light output, (high for 8 hours and low for 10 hours). After just a few hours of solar charging on the first day, the light output lasted the whole 8 hours for the high setting and the whole 10 hours for the low setting as promised. The weathered bronze finish matched perfectly with my door handle and mailbox that I already owned in the same color.

I recently bought this light and it is truly a waste of money. Unless the only thing you want it to do is tell you where the end of the building is. It won't illuminate a doorway well enough to see where you are standing.

I saw this lamp in a furniture store and decided to check Amazon for a better price. As is usually the case, Amazon was much, much lower. The lamp is very attractive and a compliment to any contemporary space. It is easy to assemble and surprisingly sturdy. The base is quite heavy so you don't have to worry about it toppling easily. As the other reviewer noted, it could stand to be a little taller. Because of its weight, I felt comfortable putting it on a short pedestal behind my sofa, adding the height I desired.

Note that it doesn't provide a lot of light--it's more of a show piece to supplement a brighter light source. However, it looks lovely illuminated alone or when other lights are on. I highly recommend this lamp. It has drawn the attention of everyone who has been in the room it it in.

I got the table lamp first and loved it, so thought I would try this. Was afraid it might be "too much", but it is not. I obsessed about how to arrange the lights for at least a week, but now I am satisfied. The only thing I wish is that it had a dimmer included on the switch like my last floor lamp did. I bought several sizes, so I will be leaving feedback on each.

The lighting is great, install was easy, the only reason I did not give this product 5 stars was the price.

Although Amazon did have the best price, I had to get over the sticker shock of the total costs of all lights ($500 for 5 lights).

Something to consider, most above stove microwaves have the same type of lighting, so when you have all your lights on, it seems to blend in better.

I priced out LED lights vs. Zenon LED's were more expensive and the general conseption is because of the energy savings, I don't have these lights on enough to think that energy savings are part of the final buying decision. If anything, I'm probably saving money since the costs that separate these two products are considerable & would take such a long time to recoupe the bottom line on my electric bill.

Needed a replacement 10" fitter shade for an aladdin style lamp. I broke the old one while cleaning. I looked everywhere for a plain white one that didn't cost more than the original lamp. This was good enough, fits the lamp holder perfectly and arrived in excellent packaging and good shape. Would buy from them again if needed another glass globe or shade.

I typically don't write many reviews, but I like Amazon. We are very happy with this fan. Last spring I bought a couple Hampton Bay 52" fans and they are great. This fan is very attractive, and the best part is that it very, very quiet. We got it for our new bedroom we built. My biggest concern was noise. If I hear a fan making constant humm on low, I would never sleep. We are very happy so far. It has been up and used regularly for nearly a month. Cons: the pulls for the light and fan (separate) are kinda cheap looking (picture of a fan and light respectively). I had read a review prior to my purchase that the fan "rocks" too much when you pull a chain. This just isn't the case with ours. It sounds like their fan may not be properly seated in the hanging bracket. I would highly recommend this fan.

After taking weeks to decide which fan to buy going by aesthetics, it didn't occur to me I was overlooking something equally important. Noise. Maybe I should have bought a different westinghouse fan with the "Whisper quiet, high performance 153-mm by 17-mm motor" as another fan is advertised.

I have mine installed in a newly renovated house, with brand new electrical. The ceiling fan box was wired specifically for this, 2 circuits to connect the fan and light on wall switches with dimming. The thing works fine in every respect except, this loud humming from the motor at every speed. With noise and activity going, you can't really hear it. When its quiet, the fan is the loudest thing in the house, literally hearing it in an adjacent room.

I might have to start again.

I have installed 10-15 fans in my life. I have never had a fan wobble brand new like this one. I never used a balancing kit before and I will have to for this when i find the time.

the globe is anoying to get straight as it had no absolute seated position. The light is only bright directly below. its very direct light which is the opposite of what I was looking for. Figured I would be safe with a big white diffuser like this has.

The overall look is ok. There are big clownshoe chains that hang not shown in picture. I wish these were removable as I dont plan to control it that way.

This fan met and exceeded my expectations. For the price I did not expect such a nice looking fan. It was easy to install and looks great. The perfect size for a rather small room and lots of air movement, plus plenty of light from the dual bulb fixture. Once again I am very impressed with the overall quality at such a great price!
