This is a very nice looking lamp and it is great that it is plug in, however, the cord is very short (approx 6ft) and the switch to turn on is right by the lamp, so if you hang it from the ceiling you cannot reach to turn it on and off. Should be closer to the plug and a much longer cord to be able to plug in and hang from the ceiling.

I purchased this sconce to go with the other fixtures (same style and brand) that I purchased from Amazon. The fixtures themselves are relativiley small compared to other vanity lights I've seen. However, because they use special bulbs (not your average screw-in type) they let off a lot of light and heat. Overall, they have a very nice, contemporary look and the smoked glass gives the bathroom a warm, bright glow.

I've been running the above mentioned pair going on 2 years with no loss in lumen output,period. Bought another solistek few months back, due to lack o funds I decided to try 1 of the $30-40 lamps infesting the online market. This light looks great and I am quite pleased with it. I give it a 4 as the directions for installation are not thorough.

The electrician left the globe section of the light in the box with a note, unable to install. My husband and I decided to give it a try.

What you have to do is attach 2 of the arms with the bulbs in the fixture. Then you unscrew the brass parts from the globe on the third side. Install the top of the third arm first and line up bottom of arm with brass pieces that go through the globe. When everything is in place screw the brass pieces together. Having good directions would have saved time & money but it is a nice light.

I've never bothered to review an item on Amazon, but made an exception for this one. The lamp looks great in their photo, yet when it arrived it was clear immediately that it was a poor choice. The packaging styrofoam was actually so old or badly stored that it had degraded into a white paste that we had to wash off the lamp's frame and cord. More importantly, though, the paper lanterns do not hang straight at the top or bottom; you can even see the glue at points. It makes the lamp look really cheap, worse than the $25 ones I use to have in college. We know this is not an expensive lamp, but it's also not super cheap and we have another paper lamp for the same price that looks fantastic. This one is just made badly. Do not buy this. You will be disappointed.

I thought I would write this review since the other review posted is so different than my experience. The lanterns are a nice muted linen color, and they are fabric not paper. The base is a dark aged looking bronze color. It puts out a really great light and has a high or low switch. Its very easy to put together, the base is heavy so I do not have to worry about it getting knocked over easily, I have young kitties so thats a concern for me. Over all for the price I have no complaints what so ever. Its far superior to the quality of the Ikea lamps that go for this price. Amazon fulfilled mine and it came in a timely manner in great shape. I say if this suits the design in your home you will be happy with it, we love this lamp.

This lamp is crooked every-which-way. The post slants, the lanterns hang askew. It only gets two stars instead of zero because it gives off a beautiful glowing light that lights up the room without being overly bright. A thing that is very important for a lamp. Oh, and the plastic knob on the lightswitch comes off in my hand every other time I turn it on. Cheap cheeeep, like a little chickadee.

I'm still keeping it. Returning it is too much of a hassle, and if you turn it just the right way it only looks a liiitttle crooked from most of the room. Shipping was great. I got it a whole week sooner than estimated.
