The lamp came in great shape and looks so pretty when lit. We got for our new nursery. The daisy cutouts look better 'in person' than online. It is more blue than it looks online though, where it looks closer to white. It's definitely pale blue.

My parent's old plug-in sway light gave out after 25 years, and we were looking for a replacement. We found these and thought what a good price. Some of the product specs said they were plug-in swag lights and others didn't. When we received these lights, the size and style was nice, but they weren't plug-in swag lights. We had to buy a light kit to make into plug-in swags. It still was a good buy regardless.

I bought this lamp to light up my sewing machine area in the evenings. It's quite bright, but the shade keeps it focused on my project rather than lighting up the room. It's adjustable and flexible, but height-wise, it's for projects you do sitting down. Since I am machine sewing, I am not using the attached magnifier, which can't enlarge my view of a seam being sewn because the sewing machine is in the way.

Frankly, I am disappointed in the "natural spectrum." I was hoping for something close enough to natural daylight that I could use this lamp to match color shades finely, for example whiter versus yellower shades of white. This lamp will not do that. Shades that look distinctly different in daylight look identical under this light. The lamp appears to merely have an ordinary fluorescent coil bulb like you can buy anywhere. Those are perfectly good bulbs, they do last a long time, but I did not have to buy a special lamp to get one.

I gave this to a friend for Christmas and was shocked at the cheap construction of this lamp. I should have read the description better to see that it was a flimsy white plastic lamp shade!

I have two of these lamps and anytime anyone walks into my room, they gasp and go on and on about how gorgeous it is, and how I must have inherited my mom's talent for design (she's an award-winning architect and interior designer). This lamp is awful. If the look you are going for is "My first apartment and I can't yet afford a lamp shade" then this is it. It looks cheap, it feels cheap, and the light coming from it is harsh, as if there is no shade. "Put a smaller bulb" you might say. Yes, and have insufficient light. If this is going into a brighter room, as an accent only, it will look fine. I can tell you now though, I wouldn't pay $40 at the urban teenager store for this thing. If I just lived in a doll house it would be perfect... Where is Ritchie Rich when I need him?

This light kit looks nice, but it just really fell below my expectations. However, the quick connect wires were handy during installation.

I deducted one star for each of the following:

1) The instructions are horrible

2) The light bulb that comes with it leaves my 12x12 room half dimmed (I'm hoping a new light bulb will fix that)

3) The place where you put the bulb is not in the center, it's off to one side. So, half of my room is darker than the other half.

I was disappointed in this fixture. It has one incandescent light. And there is space inside the globe for at least 3. The kit happens to include a 13W (60w equivalent) CFL. With such a big globe and small light bulb, the fixture is dark, and one side 'glows' much more brightly than the other, in stark contrast to the picture. For use in a kitchen (like I intended), it is WAY too dark. I returned it and got a fixture that had two lights.

But, on the plus side, the installation was super easy and straight forward. I am not sure what fan the above reviewer had to make the attachment not straight forward, but this light simply attaches to the fan through one central bolt. You have to take the bottom piece off of the fan and thread the power cords for the light and reattach, but the weight of the light is held up by the central bolt.

And, this light has a draw string so you can turn it on-off.

If you live is a smaller in-city house this is a little big for most. With only one link in the chain mine hangs down 14 inches and is 12 inches in diameter. However, I like the "Dark Sky" idea of not shining in my neighbors eyes-only illuminating what I want illuminated..seeing more stars. (I still have sensor lights that turn on for safety).

As for the quality I have a mixed review. It feels like heavy metal and makes a bong when hit...a good quality feel....as for the directions and ease of assembly mine was half put together all wrong which means I had to "fix" it the right way and this added an hour to my time..the directions are not that clear so I had to play with it a little to get the pieces in the right place...if you were hiring an electrician make sure it is put together right before his/her time starts. In addition the chain links are so strong I had to find a way to open a link using a clamp, priers and small hammer...too difficult. I was very close to sending it back but had an hour of my time invested when I finally got a link of the chain to open.

I would pay 75.00 or 100.00 but not 300.00 there is too much assembly for a 300.00 product

I was told on several times that they were going to ship the fixtures but never did. I had to initiate all communication and finally ended up cancelling the order. I love how it looks on our outdoor porch. It has a Compact Fluorescent bulb with the pins (which comes with it) but just one bulb, so the light coming through the tinted glass is not very bright.

My wife and I like the look of the vanity. The glass shades are what she wanted and the nickel finish is what I wanted basically. So far, it has held up well in the damp environment of our small bathroom. We do not have a bathroom fan and there is a shower in the bath, so the room sees a lot of humidity when someone takes a shower. The four bulbs (I use flourescent 60 watt bulbs) put out considerably more light than the two light vanity it replaced. The installation went pretty straight forward, but the instructions in the box were not that helpful. The wiring was not a problem for me, knowing the proper color codes of the wires. The fixture is somewhat heavy, so you need to make sure you are mounting it solidly to the wall. I was able to run the screws into a stud, so this was not a problem for me, however, you would need something more substantial than what is supplied in the box if you are mounting it in drywall. You will need some type of anchor to mount it more solid.

The decision to purchase this light was for a set of industrial unit facades. They are modern, and accent the new facades well.
