It's pretty and good quality, looks nice, but be forewarned that unlike some such lamps where the cord attaches through the bottom, with this one the cord attaches to the outside of the base, so there is definitely a front and back to the lamp. If you are facing the lamp with the cord going out the back, the lamp swings to your right only. Keep that in mind when you're deciding where you're going to put it. I have to return mine because of this.

+4 for looks, -1 for stability. I find it tips easily when you extend the arm completely. The base does not seem as heavy as the other Kichler lamps I have.

The lamp harp has a strange shape (compresses inside of the socket housing) and is not the usual post type with retaining ring. That makes replacing the harp to fit a CFL bulb difficult without using a socket extender. Why can't I find a 3 way extender anyway?

Quality is top notch though.

Update 7/8/2011: I did find some 3-way CFLs that fit perfectly. GE 47448 12/23/29-Watt CFL (50/100/150-Watt equivalent) Energy Smart Spiral 3-Way Light Bulb.

Received lamp well packed and in good condition. The finish is better described as ebony rather than bronze, though there is a faintly lighter hint of patina on edges. The shade is a pale champagne color. The base is weighted and very solid, so even with the swing arm extended, the lamp is stable.

They look great, don't take up too much room, and can be adjusted to cast the perfect light on whatever i'm reading.

This lamp looks great and feels well made. I was a little annoyed that it was black with a very subtle bronze edge not like the picture which appears to be rubbed bronze. It gives it a chess piece look.
