This light looks good and illuminates our yard using a standard, clear, 100watt bulb. It is cast aluminum with, 6 beveled glass windows. This lamp is superior to composite fixtures with plastic windows. I would recommend this fixture to family & friends.

The fixture is as advertised and seems to be well-constructed. It was very easy to assemble and install. The main thing wrong with it is that a hole was drilled for a sheet metal screw that isn't used in this design. The hole must have been drilled by mistaking it for another model, and the instructions that came with it were for another model that does use sheet metal screws. The hole was very easy to fill with electrician's putty, so it wasn't much of a problem. The only other complaint that I have is that the weep hole seems to allow small insects to crawl inside the lamp. I don't see how they could have avoided this, since the hole is pretty small. I sprayed a long-lasting insecticide into the hole, and I hope that this solves any problem.

If not for the erroneously drilled hole, I would probably give this a five-star rating, since it does seem well-constructed and looks very good on the post. It also has ample room for light bulbs of any sort. I used an LED bulb, but even a long candle-shaped bulb should fit without any problem.

Eight months age we updated our 22 year old kitchen and put two of these pendants over the island cooktop and the matching triple light hanging light over the breakfast table. They get amazing compliments from everyone. I wanted to do my update as economically as possible and took the chance on buying one these sight unseen online. After seeing it, I was so pleased of the quality for the inexpensive price that I immediately bought the other pendant and chandelier. All arrived (from CA to IL) well packed, no breakage (the white cylinders are glass), and all function well, even on dimmer switches. Very happy with purchase.

I like this lamp. It looks cool and does what it is supposed to do. The little GU24 bulb that comes with it was new to me but I really like how it just clicks in instead of having to be screwed in. Also the thing that holds the glass in place was very cool. It's inside the class and just screws in to tighten the glass to the fixture. No more stupid set screws to deal with. Finally, it also looks just as good if you turn the thing upside down like I did in my room.

I ordered 3 sets of these, and I was very surprised at how nice these are in person compared to the pictures shown online. I got my cousin who owns an electrical business to install them and he was also surprised in the quality and look of them. These are great for smaller rooms or just want a less conspicuous source of ceiling lighting, as they are smaller than standard sized can lights. When i ordered these, I went on eBay and bought sets of GU10 LED lights to replace the halogen lights that came with them. The halogen ones that came with them are very bright and light up the whole living room, but we are looking to be more cost efficient. One thing to note, is that these are not compliant with electrical standards so in order to install these, you must move attic insulation at least 15 inches away from each unit (I think) or buy fire/heat retardant can light covers which can also be found on amazon. Since LED lights do not emit any noticeable heat, we just moved the insulation away.

Easy to install; great looking. These are much smaller in diameter than traditional recessed lights and look fantastic. Ours are installed in our home in Mexico so no need to worry about insulation. For a ceiling in the US; these can not be installed near installation due to heat/combustion issues. You would need to buy something additional for that type of installation.

TWO important notes about this fan. First of all, I love these we have two installed for residential use and they have exactly the modern/industrial look we were going for. Looks exactly like photos. Other reviewers have captured the good and the bad. Here are two observations that I didn't immediately find in other reviews:

1) 1970 called, and it wants its fan control back. SERIOUSLY. The fan control, aka the switch that makes the fan turn on and go 5 different speeds, is a throwback. It's like mounting a VW bus to the wall. Take a look at custom photos to see what I mean. NOTE: the good news is that others are available! Search Amazon for 'westinghouse fan control' for better options. HIGHLY recommend, for ease of install and appearance, that you go with one of these instead. But hey, maybe you miss the 70's and this is your ticket to disco, swinging, and blow. I'm not judging.

2) DO NOT install around children or in any situation where someone might hit their head. This is an industrial fan made of metal. Even at low speeds, it will hospitalize you, I'm quite sure. Careful.

Usually the more stylish, the higher the cost. This fan is a refreshing exception to that rule.

Looks great, easy to install.

It comes with a rather clunky, space-consuming wall-mounted remote. Because the switch governing the ceiling outlet in my place lives in a triple-wide switchplate, I bought an aftermarket ceiling fan control for $20 and installed it in the existing junction box.

I also cut 4 inches off the downrod, as it hung a little low in the room. This required drilling two new holes in the rod to slide the pin through, a minor operation.

Only glitch was that the thing wobbles some on the top speed. I tried switching the blades around in the head, and after two combinations it runs like a gem, with no vibration whatsoever. Highly recommended! I'm buying a second one for my office.

i just installed this fan and i am very satisfied with my purchase. 5 speed options and it's industrial looks are what swayed me into purchasing this ceiling fan. the control housing is pretty large (5"Hx3.25"Lx2.5"D), but has an old school westinghouse look about it. the instructions were pretty straight forward (except wiring the controller took a few extra minutes to figure out. the instructions showed 4 wires coming, but only 2 needed to be plugged in). overall, i'm very happy. quiet operation, nice looks and a cool breeze around the apartment!

This fan is amazing. It was a breeze to put together and install. It looks amazing and functions well. I ended placing a dimmer on the switch board for different speeds because the one that is supplied is huge and bulky and unattractive. This was our only complaint since we have a mimimalistic decor on our townhouse. I would recommend this item to anyone looking for an inexpensive, modern, ultra-chic fan for any modern/contemporary decor.

This is actually a very elegant fan once installed. The product photo doesn't reflect this, but it has a very nice slender profile and sensible design. The color is actually a very reflective brushed metal finishedfrom a short distance it looks like chrome, so if you are into a retro modern look this does work acceptably. Unlike alot of modern fans that have blades made out of dissimilar materials and need superficial balancing, this fan has metal blades and seems very solid and well-balanced. It isn't quite as silent as some of the other fans in the houseit has a quiet "choppiness" and doesn't flush mount. It also has a large box that provides the multi-speed control with a somewhat vintage Westinghouse look to it. But in a world where modern looking fans without a gimmicky appearance start at $300...it is a gem. Overall, I love it.

I ordered this light in brushed nickel and installed it in a full bathroom as part of a total remodel. This light should not be installed in full bathrooms as it can not hold up to steam from showering. After about a year I happen to look up and noticed rust in the brushed nickel, which obviously had been occurring for quite some time based on the amount of rust. Unfortunately, when I tried to request a replacement from Murray Feiss, they informed me that it was no longer under warranty. If a light is advertised and sold as a bathroom vanity light (with no exceptions noted) it should be manufactured to be able to withstand the moisture in a bathroom. I have never had a rust issue with bathroom lighting before this. I wish I had noticed it sooner but shame on Murray Feiss for selling something that is unsuitable for its purpose and for their poor customer service. Buyer beware of their "bathroom" fixtures.

I ordered 2 of these shades for some older large lamps I have had in my home. The shade are a very nice quality, but not worth the price and the color on this one is a lighter shade than it appears here. Unfortunately, I had to return since the color bordered on a white and not cream. I ended up buying new lamps for a few dollars more. Price is to high.

Brilliant white light that allows me to use my Nikon stereo microscope at high magnifications at last!

In fact, it's so intense that you don't have to have the bulbs very close to the subject. Don't look into these beams! When directed at the ceiling, or at a wall, or even at a building across the way, you'll see clear discs of light; this thing is really powerful. In fact, I'm going to use it to throw some hot spots here and there to make my photography look more interesting too. For other tasks, such as eyeballing a bit or a tool tip, it's just too bright.

Build and feel are very good. The lights switch on and off by the lightest touch, and when turned off there are pretty red rings at the base. These not only direct your attention to the on/off switches, but look great too.

Buying items like these can be a crapshoot because there's just a photo to go on. This product here makes up for several really crap products that I was dumb enough to buy recently. Highly recommended.

I do a lot of micro electronics repair under microscope, and fine detail painting on miniature models. This light has helped quite a bit with both. The only thing holding this back from a perfect 5 is that there is no intesity adjust. Reflective objects can look TOO bright.
