Don't expect heirloom quality for the price. The finish is shiny, but the surface isn't deep gleaming chrome. It's a cheap and tinny looking finish, which is okay, because it is after all up away from close inspection.

This thing is a total rip... Doesn't even come with a light. I have some Vista lights in the back yard, paid about as much as this light costs. They use orings for the light housing and all in all it's a great unit. I got this thing delivered, opened the box and was shocked to see a that all they sent was a piece of ABS and some wire!!!! And a crudely made metal ring to hold the light bulb which isn't even included. I could of went to Home Depot and found the parts to make this for about 15 bucks if that. This thing is a total rip off, don't spend your money on it. I thought it at least came with a light bulb but now I have to spend another 7 bucks for that? Even the box says careful glass on the side of it, but there's not glass.

I was very impressed w/ the product quality, tilting bracket, durability, design, etc. However, given the price I feel I paid for the bulb to be included. Either include the bulb or scale back the price...

11/20/09 I just received this item, which I ordered for my sister's birthday. There's no shade! The picture on Amazon shows a shade, the Amazon description specifically mentions the shade ("12" diameter white Shantung shade"), the box itself has a picture of a lamp with a shade, WHAT'S WITH THAT?! I will be contacting Amazon/Bargain Outfitters and returning this item if they can't provide a shade. Very disappointing, especially since this was a birthday gift.

update: I contacted Amazon and Bargain Outfitters and they responded immediately, stating that a shade will be sent immediately. When I receive the shade, I will update and (presumably) increase the stars for this review.

8/16/13: sorry for the tardy update. The shade came, it's very pretty, and my sister loves the lamp.

We bought these lamps form Kenroy Home and they are great.look so pretty in the bedroom. Kelroy Home was very helpful and when I called about not receiving the cord covers Kelroy customer service could not have been nicer... If you need wall lamps buy these and from Kelroy Home......

I have two of these lamps and anytime anyone walks into my room, they gasp and go on and on about how gorgeous it is, and how I must have inherited my mom's talent for design (she's an award-winning architect and interior designer). I don't think I need to say much else. If you know how to put together modern pieces, this lamp is a great way to get that Kartell Bourgie lamp style for $100's less.

Gorgeous lamp, good price. Looks as good as the Kartel lamp, but not as expensive. I believe that people with modern outgoing taste would love this product.

This lamp is awful. If the look you are going for is "My first apartment and I can't yet afford a lamp shade" then this is it. It looks cheap, it feels cheap, and the light coming from it is harsh, as if there is no shade. "Put a smaller bulb" you might say. Yes, and have insufficient light. If this is going into a brighter room, as an accent only, it will look fine. I can tell you now though, I wouldn't pay $40 at the urban teenager store for this thing. If I just lived in a doll house it would be perfect... Where is Ritchie Rich when I need him?

We had these in all the other bath rooms in our house and loved. We added a bath in our basement and installed these. The only thing that I would comment on is that the decorative ball bolts can get scraped if you use a tool to tighten. Recommend putting tape on a pair of pliers to install.
