Nice lamp if you don't put a light bulb in it. The top of the bulb is way above the top of the shade with a standard bulb in it. I have looked but not found a bulb that is short enough to be usable. The bulb is positioned in the top third of the shade. I was disappointed that this information was not in the specifications. I guess I will just use it with out the bulb, it is a nice looking lamp, just not lit.

I bought this when amazon had it on sale. single digits price. bought 2 of them shipped. The lamp shade as others have said will leave the bulb showing. So it looks horrible. But I cut up and added extension to the lamp shade metal frame. Now the shade is much higher and the bulb shines inside the shade. Not directly visible on top. Now it looks great.

I also have its larger version. Works great in the bedroom because the bulb is toward the top of the shade. It is sturdy and has a heavy base. I love it.

The top of this shade is not covered, creating somewhat a little bit too shining for bedroom. But this lamp is fair enough for its' price.

Well packaged and arrived in good time, but at least one of the 'arms' of the light was a bit bent. Not enough to really bother most people, but a bit irritating nonetheless. Item is exactly as pictured, great quality for the price, nice and shiny and the swirl shades are attractive. With halogen 60w lights, this fixture illuminates my guest bath very well. Could go up to 100W if needed.

I had high hopes for this lamp because of the large size of the magnification area and the fact that it has bright, cool burning, long-life LED lights. I bought this lamp as a gift for my elderly mother to use for craft work and reading, but when I gave it a pretrial run I realized it would not be suitable for her. While the concept of the larger magnification area is good, in reality I did not find it functional for what it would be used for. I found you must hold your work or reading material within 3 inches of the magnifier in order for it to appear clearly. Due to the heads large size, this in itself is difficult to do because it prevents you from easily getting your hands in the right position under the lens to work or read properly without distortion. The magnifier itself is not optical glass; instead a plastic magnification sheet has been added underneath the lens. The 'ringed' ridges in this sheet are always in view and hinder what you are looking at. In short, I knew this would be a source of irritation to my mother as it was to me. Also, the 12 LED lights were not really adequate enough light to work with. It could easily stand having twice the number. Then too, because the lights are located only on the outside corners of the viewing surface, my hands would cast shadows when held in various positions thereby decreasing the available light. Once again this is because you have to hold them so close to the magnifier for clarity. All in all, this was not what I had hoped for and so have returned this item and ordered Quality Magnifier Floor Lamp for Reading X-Large Lens 60 LED for a hopefully better product fit!

The base did not hold the stand at 360 positions. The base was unstable. Would not buy the product at any price over $15.00 The lens distorted at all angles and the Fresnel affect is not really a good magnification.

It was a major disappointment for the help of reading as it is supposed to help. I believe it is more of a gimmick than a magnifier.

I love needle work but as I'm needing a bit more light and a lot bigger size to see this serves double duty. It also stays put. You can adjust it, but I have set it where I want it and leave it alone. I just turn it behind my chair where it stays until I need it.

I don't recommend it for reading as you must move the book with your hands to do so.

Some have said that it tips over. It can depending on how you place it for use. I have the weight distributed back onto itself and it stays just fine. Would buy it again.

Very nice item. I ordered the Yantouch Jellyfish with two other items, the Phillips Living Colors 2 and the Lzr Sphere Light Projector from Unique Gagets & Toys. The Jellyfish is my favorite of the three. The colors are great, and very adjustable. There is saturation and hue gradients which allow the Jellyfish to be set to an astounding variety of colors and brightness. The flow setting moves the colors through the spectrum in a preset configuration that reminds me of a color wheel. Finally there is a preset which includes several colors at one time, a sort of rainbow. The Jellyfish is not bright enough to read by, nor can it be clearly seen by daylight. It does not cast light into a room, or onto the ceiling. It is made of sturdy plastic which allows the cool temperature LED style lights inside to cast their glow onto the shell that encases them, creating a mellow and attractive color scheme to be seen. The weakness of this item is its touchpad the interface between the user and the results. Either mine is problematic or the method is. My impression is the design is weak, not my specific item. It is supposed to respond to touch commands, the point touched determining the color result, the duration of the contact and direction of the movement are supposed to effect changes in the saturation of the color, and the type of results you get are responsive to this input. In reality it strikes me as fidgety and more random in outcome it is determined by these input commands. Nevertheless this is a great little night light. If I had kids I would give it to them, since I don't I get to keep it.

I got this light as a christmas gift and I love it! I can't stand being in a pitch black room so I usually leave a small night light plugged in. But most of the time they are just too bright [I have a very small room, so it doesn't take much to light up my room]! With this light I can pick any color in any hue, light or dark. You are able to pick a color and either turn the brightness up or down which makes this great! Anyone looking for a reading lamp should not buy this, why would you want a colored light to read with anyway? I love that I can pick a different color to fit my mood. The only thing I don't like is the changing rainbow effect, it isn't very pleasant.

i bought this feeling confident it would be great. massive disappointment.

to begin, the light is far too dim. it is designed to be pointed at a surface and the surface helps to increase the strength of the light in the room/area. i can't see how this is useful for anything, also i find the colors and rainbow mode ugly. it's still too dark to be useful you will need another light source if you plan to do anything (like reading which is impossible using only this light).

the worst part is, when it is in rainbow mode (fades in and out through the colors) i actually find this really annoying and distracting. it's just not at all pleasant having the colors changing constantly.

the advertising says that it can show millions of colors, which i don't believe. when you scroll through the colors and choose one, it isn't the same tone and hue to the color that you selected. probably the most disappointing thing about this. it doesn't feel like it has a lot of colors. i do graphic design, studied art, am good at creating colors using just red, blue, green paints. i'm sure that this thing doesn't have as many tones of color as advertised.

i'm not sure what to do with this unit now, is it worth the effort to have one of my walls being cycled through a few neon colors? no.

i wanted this as a pretty low light reading lamp and yesterday bought an Artemide tolomeo a color that i'll enjoy.

the pricing is too high for this which has no practical use.

This light kit looks nice, but it just really fell below my expectations. However, the quick connect wires were handy during installation.

I deducted one star for each of the following:

1) The instructions are horrible

2) The light bulb that comes with it leaves my 12x12 room half dimmed (I'm hoping a new light bulb will fix that)

3) The place where you put the bulb is not in the center, it's off to one side. So, half of my room is darker than the other half.

I was disappointed in this fixture. It has one incandescent light. And there is space inside the globe for at least 3. The kit happens to include a 13W (60w equivalent) CFL. With such a big globe and small light bulb, the fixture is dark, and one side 'glows' much more brightly than the other, in stark contrast to the picture. For use in a kitchen (like I intended), it is WAY too dark. I returned it and got a fixture that had two lights.

But, on the plus side, the installation was super easy and straight forward. I am not sure what fan the above reviewer had to make the attachment not straight forward, but this light simply attaches to the fan through one central bolt. You have to take the bottom piece off of the fan and thread the power cords for the light and reattach, but the weight of the light is held up by the central bolt.

And, this light has a draw string so you can turn it on-off.
