This is a pretty cool lamp. Use it for a night light in the front room. Only glitch is, the description says it has an Amber color shell. ( We had one before and it was Amber color ) This guy arrived with an Orange color shell. No big deal, but seller should state the "real" shade.

I have had this lamp for years now. It works great as a night light and was perfect in my son's room when he was a newborn, creating enough light for me to feed or change him, but it wasn't jarring like a regular lamp, giving off a really nice warm glow. My son is almost four now and uses it nightly in his room to go to sleep. We have moved over 10 times and it has never broken and I have only had to replace the bulb once. Sorry to hear the other reviewer had two break, but we have honestly never had a problem.

Buy Central Machinery 8" Bench Grinder with Gooseneck Lamp

I was tired of not being able to grind or wire wheel longer pieces on my 6" grinder, since the wheels don't have a large enough diameter to clear the motor housing on most 6 inch models. So I went on an extensive search to find a decent bench grinder without breaking the bank. Most bench grinders of this size are selling for at least $80.00 and up to as much as four or five hundred dollars for a Baldor brand. I read a lot of reviews on just about every brand made today and I ended ,once again, here with the Harbor Freight model. Their website says the motor is a 6 to 8 amp, which may be a starting amperage draw. But the actual box it comes in states that it is a 5 amp motor which is probably the continuous amperage draw. It most certainly has more power than my 3.2 amp 6 inch grinder. It in fact has plenty of power.I actually purchased the 8" model without the light for under $50.00, but this one with the light is exactly the same, except with a light which I didn't need. If you do your own search you'll notice that many of the China made brands use the exact same motor and base, so most of these are made by the same manufacturer. It really doesn't matter what China made brand you purchase, they will often shake or vibrate a little, which is due to the wheels being out of balance. So you will have to get a decent diamond dressing wheel and true up the sides and face of the wheels. Once this is done you should have a pretty smooth running grinder. I worked on this one for 5 or 10 minutes to achieve this. These actually have a pretty decent rating on the Harbor Freight site,even in one business that has multiple ones in heavy use. And like any ratings you read you have to allow for the negative reviews some products get because the users aren't willing to due a little work to true up or tune a tool for use, and for those who just don't know how to use a tool properly etc., etc. The tool rests on these are pretty much crap so I threw mine out. I use a really nice Veritas grinder tool rest, that I mounted in front of one of the wheels, but you could certainly make a decent rest easily enough from some angle iron. The clear plastic guards work , but I find that they get in the way more often than not when grinding larger pieces so, I just wear safety glasses or a face shield. If you really have to do your own research then be my guest , but you won't find a better value on an 8 inch grinder than this ,especially when you apply their 20 or 25 % coupon toward the purchase. For example compare this grinder to the popular selling Dewalt. It sells for $127.00 and all it has over the CM one is a better tool rest, or the JEt model that sells for over two hundred dollars. It has better tools rests , a better switch and dust collection ports on the shrouds, which in my opinion aren't necessary. But as far as power goes they are virtually the same. If you really have to have the best bench grinder, then buy all means ,get a Baldor , but start saving today, cause you'll pay 10 times the price or more, for a new one, of equal horse power. And to me that just doesn't make a whole lot of good sense, since I could use that money for a good hand plane or other woodworking tool . Hallelujah ! Your search is over now, but be sure to purchase this directly from the Harbor Freight store where it sells for much less !

I purchased these under cabinet light fixtures in several sizes; 2, 3 & 4 light configurations. They look great and when they work, put out good lighting. However, they have gone through almost a complete set of light bulbs at almost $5 each. They are connect by hard wiring with a switch and dimmer. They burn out bulbs both at random and by complete fixture. Very hard to change bulbs and being careful not to touch the bulb with bare fingers.

In the spring of 2006 I renovated my kitchen. I chose Kichler 10581 series for my under cabinet/over counter top lights. I have eight of them, five large (roughly 30 inches), three small (roughly 12 inches). In the last two years I have had to replace four lights, three large, one small. My most recent replacement failed after less than 6 months use. Not one light bulb was bad. My contractor, who recommended Kichler and advised me to contact Kichler. He told me the problem has to be the transformers.

I am really unhappy. I emailed Kicher to ask for an explanation for this abysmal performance. No one responded

I bought three of these with the intention of giving them out as presents. I ended up keeping one and giving away the other two. It's the handiest little tool I own!

I have used it while grilling outdoors at night, for extra light to help reorganize the wiring behind my entertainment center, for sweating fittings onto my water heater in the attic, you name it. You just can't beat the compact design.

The tension on the retractable headband is just right tight enough to keep it on even when active, but not so tight that it hurts even when wearing it for long periods of time.

The size and weight is so minimal when retracted that you can just put it in your pocket and forget it's there. Sure, people will make fun of you when you wear it, but you'll have both hands free to attend to your task.

This light makes a great gift, because most people don't realize they need this until they use it. However, if you do buy one as a gift, get two. Trust me, you'll use it.

This thing is so small and light you can have one with you for any outdoor activity where you could get caught in the dark if things don't go perfectly.

It works on your bare head, though not as well as one with straps, but it also works over helmets and hats with instant adjustments (stays on some helmets better than others), and it fits in any pocket. Beyond that, the zipka loops brilliantly around a handlebar and over itself to make a bike headlight; you could make another into a taillight if you got one of the lens kits. It also loops around a branch and over itself for an overhead light, or around a ski pole or tent pole. It's also great for reading in a hotel room when your partner is asleep, or for rooting through a dark closet. I realize this is starting to sound like an infomercial but this thing is that useful, I have a couple and I use them regularly in all these ways (well, except the taillight). It's versatile in ways you only wish a headlamp with a strap could be.

I have already bought 6 of them for myself, friends and family. It is the most convenient, effective light for any kind of outdoors stuff. My brother gave me the best feedback. Climbing in the Karakoram Mountains above 20,000 ft altitude, he found the Zipka worked like charm in the coldest weather, for 18 nights with only one change of 3 small AAA batteries. It even worked for lighting the trail ahead when they would start marching at 3 am, and it worked at night when he was preparing meals and writing his notes. In contrast, all the big fancy headlights he has tried, either were too heavy (wt is a killer in the high mountain treks and most of them are atleast 3-4 times as heavy as one zipka), or required 5 or 6 times 4 AA battery pack changes (which requires you carry that much extra weight) or couldn't stand the cold. Zipka (because its batteries are close to your forehead and keeps warm our own assessment) didn't go dead on him like other batteries did.

All the high altitude guides were eager to have the zipka as they found it amazing. Zipka is the best gift for them.

I have two, with one permanently in my shell jacket sleeve pocket and one in my car.

It should be awarded an OSCAR of lights.

I love this headlamp, but as with one other reveiwer, after a few months of flawless use, it started shutting off on me in the middle of active use. This can be quite dangerous depending on what you are using it for. At the very least it is aggrivating. It is usually difficult to get it to come back on without adjusting the batteries in various ways. I like the headlamp itself so much that I have continued to use it even with this large fault, but I am becoming less tolerant and am likely to purchase a new head lamp soon, but will not buy this one again unless this issue is resolved with the product.

coolest strap system I've seen. fits easily in your pocket.

at first I didn't think the angle was adjustable but you effectively can by moving it up and down on your forehead.

also it can sit flat on the floor / ground with the light at a 45 degree angle. useful for a small area light.

the light is bright and highly defused. favors lighting up a large area close to you as opposed to spotting at a distance.

previously owned a princeton aurora which was good, but I like this one a lot better.

The Priori T2 light fixture is sleek and provides excellent light; installing it was another matter altogether. The keyholes that were supposed to allow for easy mounting to the cabinet did not exist; rather, the keyhole shape was embossed on the plastic housing which made it a lot more difficult and time-consuming to attach the fixture to the cabinet. The knockout for wiring was virtually impossible to knock out; I ended up drilling it as a previous reviewer had stated was necessary. The wiring compartment which was supposed to flip open to allow for hands-free wiring simply fell out when the clips were released so that the cover kind of flopped around in the way while wiring the fixture. Overall, this is an excellent product with some major installation flaws.

A very neat light once installed. I actually had to buy a second one of these because the installer accidentally destroyed the first when he tried to get one of the "knock-out" openings knocked out (it didn't knock out and when he drilled it out the drill went on too far into the unit destroying some of the electrical circuitry). So, the second one (the installer paid for it) did get installed but not too easily. But once in, it looks very nice and neat. I would recommend the fixture but also recommend that it be installed by a professional.

Received two of these less than two years ago, and both have burned out. Not the bulb, but rather the light fixture itself. Installed a new bulb and it immediately burns out! I called American Lighting and the said it sounds like the fixtures went bad....ya, no shit...but you guys made the fixture! When pushed they said the ballast in these do not last forever and can not be replaced. So basically they to not stand by their produces....I do not expect "forever"...but a light fixture should last more than a year or two. I think they just miss designed the light, and will not admit it. I will never buy from American lighting again.

Any under cabinet fluorescent fixture from this company is very, very poorly designed. First, the "lense cover" which looks like a panel is almost impossible to remove. Even after practicing for 15 or so minutes on the work bench, removing still took at least 10 minutes. Now, install the fixture and try to remove it when it is under the cabinet good luck.

Next is the cover for the electrical section. The cover is held in place by two spring tabs which, again, are very difficult to pull back so the cover can be removed. Once inside, wires and stuff are removed and replaced in a specific order. Deviate from putting it back together the way it was removed, you are up that famous creek with no means of locomotion.

Finally, in January and February of 2013, I bought 5 of these. One crapped out on 1 March. Although it is within warranty, it is backordered and they will sub a similar model.

I rate this P.O.S a minus two.

Very slim profile and nice quality. So many of these lights have plastic lenses that turn yellow with time. This one has a glass lense and I think it will remain looking like new.
