Lamp is pretty, but I did not expect it to glow and give a red aura to the room. Other down lights have a bulb encasement that prevents the glow effect. I also thought the cord would be encased in a rigid pipe, but it's just the exposed electrical cord. For the price, you can get glass downlights the do not have these issues.

We bought it because we needed replacement for shade the same color and shape. So, as a replacement it is a little expensive

My kitchen is getting a complete make-over and I purchased this to go over my sink. I am doing all stainless steel appliances and I wanted a splash of color and this fits to a tee! When I showed it to my niece, she said, "This looks like the lights we purchased in Italy!" She fell in love with them, too. I am so happy I got this lamp. I can't wait to install it when my kitchen is complete. I'm hoping I can purchase some extra shades as I want to match them to the new ceiling fan I'm going to install.
