It's exactly what I expected from the description and picture. The base is fairly heavy so it stays stable. The arms move easily and the joint tighteners are easy to dial in as needed. The light is fairly localized and not spread out, which I like because it tends not to bother others nearby. This is just what a reading lamp should be.

If you read the ad you are to receive a light bulb with the lamp. None came. No way to contact seller on this. Beware buying this.

I had seen this lamp before and was looking for a halogen bulb based solution for the bedroom. This is a great lamp for this purpose and I can highly recommend it as such.
