I study, read, and crochet in bed while watching tv (it is my luxury). I continously have issues being able to see what i am doing. I have a small bedside lamp, but it doesnt put out much light and if i use the overhead light, it sometimes casts a shadow on what i am trying to do. I had to stay in a hotel for business and thought the lamps mounted on the wall were very functional and easy to operate. No more fumbling for the switch on the cord. I told my husband that i needed a lamp to mount on the wall and he was absolutely against it. When trying to learn to crochet, i thought this is it. I immediately pulled out my laptop and just knew there had to be a wall lamp that was functional and didnt look as though it belonged in a hotel. I found it. I didnt want to spend a lot of money on the lamp, because i didnt know if i would like it or if my husband would let me have it. The lamp came to my home quickly and when i opened it, my husband was still against it. I came home one day to find it hanging on my side of the bed and I have been very happy with the lamp. It is a 3 way bulb with a max of 150, which is very useful, depending on what you are working on. The switch is located at the base of the lamp, which most of the time is cumbersome to turn on and off, but if the lamp is mounted above your head, it is far easier to get to. Warning, the cord cover is not included and i would absolutely suggest that you have one. Now, i just need to convince my husband to let me get one for his side of the bed. Oh yeah, you will love the fact that there is one less thing sitting on your endtable, dresser, whatever.

1st You can't swing the middle part only on the side part.
2nd the shade of the lamp wasnot exactly the same as the one pictured.
3rd and this is the one that pist me off the most -you can't switch the light on and off. It is like switching a screw driver. It gets tighter and tighter. I am only plugging and unplugging it is the only way to do it.
Only positive thing is that it does hang from the wall.
Wish I never threw away the box otherwise I would have returned it!!!

For the price it's fine but overall the quality is kind of poor. The shade is collapsed for shipping and it was difficult popping it out to use it. It's also a silky fabric that looks like it will collect dust, cat hair and anything else in the room. The swing arm droops about an inch but I haven't tried tightening the screws behind the plate yet. The on/off switch is very stiff (not helpful for arthritis sufferers like me). Assembly and mounting it on the wall was fairly easy. Being able to mount the plate first then attaching the lamp to the plate was a good idea and made it go faster. Overall, for $30 and free shipping I give it 3 stars.
Edited on 2/19/13 It has been less than a year since I bought this lamp and it is now in the trash!! The middle part of the arm where it was drooping continued to droop. There is no way to tighten, stabilize or repair it at all and since all the wiring runs through there I was worried about fire hazards. It was sagging so much that I had to throw it out. I wound up going to Home Depot and buying one for the same price. I highly suggest you avoid this company's products.

We purchased four of these wall lamps. The shades are absolutely the worst, but the lamps are great. We purchases new shades as Bed Bath and Beyond and they are great now.

I received what I ordered, however it was not new, it was a product that had been used before and had the marks of wear and tear from being used. I contacted the seller and received no answer. Although I do understand that they have to do something with the returns they get from people, when I order a product as new, I would like to receive one that is new, not one that had been used. I would order from another company, which guarantees new in the box product. Otherwise, product appears ok, I am giving it only one star due to the fact that the company is selling used products, not new, and they fail to make that statement on the website.
