I bought two of these lamps for my living room, when they were on sale. The lamps were packed fairly well, although they were packed in two very different sized boxes and had me worried that I had been shipped two different products when I arrived home to see them sitting on my front porch. The shades arrived without a dent, which was my biggest concern. The base of the lamp is a very heavy, sturdy steel. Each ball is the size of a baseball, to give you a better idea of the size of this lamp. The shades are less white than what is pictured, but just slightly, like an off white.
Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. One minor flaw is that one of the shades has a manufacturing imperfection; a faint "ring" that runs around the middle of the shade. It is only visible when the lamp is on, and even then would only be visible if someone was looking directly at the lamp. Instead of going through the hassle of returning the lamp, I just put that lamp where I expect it will be used infrequently.A present for a desirable woman, she said she loved it... in return, knowing that she loved is all I need to know!
