The picture appears that the glass portion is clear glass, which is what I wanted. When it arrived the glass was a deep amber and does not go with my decor at all. The lamp itself was a nice style, liked the shade and was so disappointed that the glass was amber. What is up with that? Not one picture shows it other than clear!

I really like this lamp and I didn't have the problem of the glass being amber instead of clear. I bought the lamp not caring if it was amber or clear glass, though. It was clear, and it really is a sharp looking lamp and works great as a reading lamp. It seems very sturdily built. I hope it lasts the 14 years my last lamp like this lasted.. these lamps screw in at the base and it is a common breaking point after 10+ years.. if you want a lifetime lamp you'll have to spend a lot more money at one go and get a lamp that is pre-assembled. :)

The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the lamp is a little wobbly. The rubbed bronze looks very expensive. The glass is kind of amber-colored, so if amber isn't your thing, you might want to think twice.
