The lamp I got is not the lamp in the picture. The glass shade does not have the metal trim on it and to say the least it's a bit generic. The decorative piece beneath the switch is also missing. The lamp post is connected by 4 pieces that screw together but do not leave a smooth seamless connection. As for the gun metal finish, I would say it is not. I would say more of a cheap brushed bronze finish. I would not recommend this lamp simply because of the issues that I have already pointed out. It is true that they just do not make stuff like they did in the past here in the good ole USA. Heed the old saying buyer beware.
