Purchased this light to replace an old single bulb torchiere halogen lamp for reading. This is a real nice upgrade providing an adjustable level of lighting to fit the desired effect.

The floor lamp arrived on time. The covering glob on one light fell off. Poor clamps. When I plugged it in there was a loud pop and sparks flew out from the top two lights. Only the lower light now works.
I'm stuck with it because I was too ill to ship it back.

It is hard to find 300-500 watt halogen lamps. This gives off good light. Unfortunately, it has the tendancy of this type of lamp to sway on its bas. I'm not sure what can be done to prevent it. If I used it in a high traffic area, it would really be a problem,
