I had ordered two of these sconces and a matching 3 light chandelier. The quality and finish of the items (which is a matte black) was perfect to go with the black accents around my fireplace. It has an easy attachment plate and they provide you with an allen wrench to tighten set screws that hold this on the plate. The milky white glass appears to be defect free and distributes light from the bulb in a very even pattern. I liked this design so much that I ordered a close to ceiling matching two light fixture to go in my foyer
