The lampshade that came with the lamp was nice, but it was getting old looking. This replacement is a nice bright color. It is not "WHITE", but as the name says "vanilla". It is definitely brighter than beige.
Unfortunately the slant top to bottom was not quite the right fit, so I returned it and got a different shade that was shaped better for the lamp. If it had been the right shape I would have kept it.
