This lamp is a great price, solidly constructed, and looks elegant. Some people don't like the plastic shade, but I think it looks fine and passes for glass unless you look really closely. Unfortunately, after a few days the light started turning off randomly, and you have to jiggle the on/off switch to get it on again. Maybe it was a fluke, my sister has the same lamp and hers has worked perfectly for months. I love the lamp otherwise, I'll ask for a replacement instead of a refund.

I have had these lamps for awhile now and have been very happy. One behind my couch on either side. I like that they use incandescent bulbs as they do not get nearly as hot as the Halogen lamps I replaced. They have been very stable on my carpet and look great. I would definitely buy these again or recommend to a friend

I can't believe this product was available for such a low price. It is a wonderful light source, and about as unobtrusive as such a lamp can be. The qutlity is good and, though one review objected to the acrylic shade, I find it isn't obviously distinguishable from glass.

Reviewer edit: This is already defective, I'm returning it.

First things first: this is NOT dimmable. There is a cheap off/on switch that has two settings, low and and high. The switch is already acting wanky. I have to turn it several times to get it to turn on.

I was surprised this was $70. Cheap crap from China I suppose.

Like other reviewers, I used to have a great high watt dimmable halogen floor lamp. It appears these are not made any longer due to fire hazard.

If I could find a good one for over $100 I wouldn't mind the price. I guess I'll to shop at brick and mortar stores and test drive them.
