So happy to have this reasonably priced, quality lamp. I was looking for a simple, elegant and modern lamp with this specific type of clean circular lampshade but other stores were at least $100-200. Weren't sure by purchasing it just by the picture at first. With this price, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. Good sturdy base and very nice detail with the on and off switch. Highly recommended. And very well packed for shipping too.

I had spent so muc time looking for a nice lamp, that would fit with any decor not too tall or short, and specially that came with all its parts. My last experience with a floor lamp wan't the best, and this one just floored me, the switch is the best feauture. I wish more lamps came like this!!! Most lamp's switches are small and annoying to your hands, but this one is just so comfortable and not to mention that the quality is amazing!!

I bought this lamp for my son who has just finished college and taken a job in NYC. His bedroom has no overhead lighting and after reading other reviews on this item I took a chance on it. He LOVES it! In fact, he wants a table lamp to match.

I was a little worried that the other reviews were plants, because they're all about the same length and all are glowing. Nevertheless, I ordered two of these lamps because they're the right price and they seemed to look good. When they arrived, I was pleased to find that hey! they DO look good, modern, clean and classy. The other positive reviews were right on.

The metal has a brushed finish that looks classy. The shade is more of an eggshell / off-white, and looks like it's made of linen. The switch mechanism is clever it's just a pull chain with a bar attached, but it works like a charm and feels great to use. The lamps are about 5 feet tall, so if you're 6'+ you will be looking down into the light. I'm 5'9" and they don't bother me, but I can see how they would if I were taller.

The base is relatively stable, but the metal is so thin that you can see it warp when you gently press the pole. Given that the pole comes in three sections which screw together, it is quite sturdy better than I expected. They won't withstand a labrador or something, but I have a well-behaved 9 month old baby and two cats and we've had no issues with toppling. Two lamps with 26w CFLs light up a room with a warm cozy glow; plus the ceiling fluorescent in this apartment and the room is vibrant and well-lit.

I feel that these lamps are one of the better value-for-money purchases that I've made.

The lamp was packaged well for shipment (something I worried a bit about, especially with the drum-shaped lamp shade). It is sturdy and continues to work well day in and out. I like the style and the levered on/off switch.
