My husband and I are installing light fixtures on all of our ceiling fans because our infant is now crawling and trying to pull up on our floor lamps. This fixture took FIVE HOURS of work to install and TWO TRIPS to the hardware store. The nuts included were so tight that they wouldn't screw on, so we ended up having to pull the light fixture apart to be able to get the nut on. Once we got one of the nuts on, the other one was literally so tight that it wouldn't fit. So that was the first trip to the hardware store--buy more nuts, because the ones includes don't frickin fit. Then, we couldn't get the original nut back off to finish the mounting, so we had to strip wires and rethread. No wire strippers here, so SECOND trip to the hardware store. We finally got the piece of crap mounted, and the entire light fixture is crooked, so the glass globe part looks like it is about to fall off. We can try to make the light straighter, but then the whole fan is off balance and dangerous. Since it took so long, we are not pulling the thing down to return it. Oh, and the chain for the fan is so short that the connector keeps getting hung up where it threads through the metal plate, so we have to be "careful" not to pull too hard or it bounces up on the inside of the glass and we have to pull the whole thing down in order to rethread the frickin chain. Our builders installed Progress fans, so we didn't have a choice on the light fixture from what we understand, so we're stuck using them. I'll say this: even though the ceiling fans are awesome, I would never choose Progress again just because of the lighting fixture. Save yourself the trouble and just get an entirely new fan and light. It would be faster and look better.

This light kit with globe is a good value and an excellant product. I have looked for quite some time for replacement globes for my two kitchen fans. The fans are in excess of 20 years old and I can not tell who makes them which maade finding replacement globes very difficult. I am extremely happy with both the quality and appearence of these two light kits.

Installed energy efficient bulbs 17w each that provide 75w of lighting. If you are looking for a less expensive solution to upgrading a ceiling fan, this is your ticket. You will not be disipointed.
