We purchased three of these lights to put in our new construction home. We moved into the house 6 months ago, and have not had any problems with any of the lights. They appear to be solidly constructed nothing flimsy about them. The two bulbs give good lighting for a stairway or hallway.
After reading the other comment about these lights regarding the frosting starting to peel, I checked all of my fixtures. The glass appears to be solid glass, with no film or coating that could peel away. These lights are on a lot at my house, especially over the winter, so there would have been plenty of opportunity for the heat from the light bulbs to cause peeling. I notice that the other reviewer bought theirs several months before I purchased mine, so perhaps the manufacturer has corrected the problem.
I chose these lights because I was looking for something out of the ordinary for the stairways. These lights are one of the first things people see when they step into my house, and many people have commented on how striking they are. In fact, I am getting ready to order one additional light to finish off the basement stairway.
I would recommend that anyone considering this light actually measure the space where the light will go as this light comes in 2 sizes. There is also a 1-light sconce that measures 6 3/4" W x 10 1/2" H. This one measures 16" tall, so the "small" in the item description is a bit misleading.

The lights are pretty attractive and I bought them for the wattage they claim to allow. It has been just over a year and the frosting in the glass is burning and peeling. I used the product exactly as intented. Went back to Minka and they will not provide new glass for the lights. I will have to purchase new glass. Obviously there is a fault with the design and they will not stand by the product. DO NOT BUY THESE!
