While this light is rated as a Dark Sky fixture, don't let it fool you into thinking it means minimal light. This fixture lights up the area really well without blasting light out to the neighbors. We don't have street lights where we live, so a blaring light is really visible in an unbalance kind of way. This light is rated for 100 watts, but I used a 60-watt bulb and it was plenty of light for outdoor dining and illuminating the pathway.
