I originally owned the Mr Beams MB360 Mr Beams MB360 Wireless LED Spotlight with Motion Sensor and Photocell Weatherproof Battery Operated 140 Lumens, I used it in by my door in the backyard and it worked great the sensor is very sharp and i was impressed with the amount of light they produced, it never lit up the backyard but it made it light enough so that I don't bump into things and i can see where i was going.
I was looking to buy a new unit for my front door but i needed a brighter option but i never found one (I used a standard light not a motion sensing light) until I came across this one and I figured its worth a shot because I already know and trust the brand andi know that the sensor works great, so I got the 3 pack.
I could not be happier! The amount of light on these are perfect! Its more than double brighter than my original MB360 this light deserves the title "UltraBright" and everything else works the same as on the MB360
if you want to super light you front yard just get the 3-pack and install them to target an area slightly away from on another and this will give you great light!
Pros:
Battery Operated
Installs anywhere with just 2 screws The installation is super easy
Amazing sensor The trees don't trigger it only humans (or animals) do
Well built
Waterproof
30ft motion detection range
very affordable price
no cons yet!
There is just one thing I am worried about, and that's battery life, since the it uses a lot more power than the original MB360, I'm worried the battery life won't be as amazing I purchased this product 3/1/13 and I will try to update every so often on the battery life
UPDATE: I have been using the light for more than a month now and have had no problems at all. I also did some research in the matter and here is what i found.
Mr Beams have made some changes in the NEW MB393, The new MB393 use 4 D-cell batteries (instead of 3 that the MB330 uses). Mr Beams has also chosen the latest LED that is 35% more efficient. The combination of these two changes give the MB390 nearly the same battery life as the MB360. so no worries on the battery life issues! this new unit is IMPROVED on every level, Mr beams gave it great thought.
Its also important to note that the battery life will also greatly depend on the amount of times it is turned on daily , so say if you live on a ranch and this light will only switch on 3-4 times per night so that's using 2-minutes of light per day (since every time it goes on the light lasts for 30 seconds), than you are only using one hour of light per month. That means you wont have to change the battery only once in 40 Months(based on the 30 hours promised by the manufacture) that's changing the battery once in 3 1/3 Years, that's pretty good.
but if you live in the city and this light goes on/off 30 times a night, than you are using 15 minutes worth of light every day, that means you will have to replace the battery every 120 days (4 months) so you see, it all depends.

I just got this light and I got it based on the reviews for the Mr Beam 150-Lumen LED light. This light is supposed to be twice as bright, but I would not be able to compare since I never owned the other light. But here goes:*****
The installation was very easy. Drill, screws, ladder, marker, rubber mallet, 4-D Cell batteries, and 10 minutes. So easy it it felt wrong. two small knobs to adjust angle and done.
*****
The fixture gives off great light, but is not annoying. It lights up the entire side door area just enough to not trip on the steps, but not so much that my neighbors will hate me.
*****
I also installed one of the lights by my gate entrance, which is next to the house and is split between the inside of the gate and the outside of the gate. That worked out perfectly with the fixture in the middle of the gate,at about 10' high and it distributed even light on both sides.
Not sure how long the batts will last, but I will check back in when I find out.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Let's face it, we've all seen enough TV, movies, and video games to know that it's not a matter of if but when the zombie apocalypse will start. As any small child can tell you, the best defense against the Legion of the undead is some form of light. And how are you going to have light to protect your home when the zombies have taken out the power plant? Why with Mr. beams MB 390 weatherproof battery powered LED spotlight of course!I've had some Mr. beam lights before and liked them very much. The earlier set was indoor only for use in small closets or cabinets. This one is significantly higher priced, however it's also more powerful and meant for outdoor use. The one I received is currently replacing a light from a different manufacturer which was not waterproof. Here's a tip, don't mount one of these directly to your house. If you need to replace it with a different manufacturer or different model light, you'll have all kinds of holes. What you should do instead, is get a small piece of wood and mount it to that. You can then mount that piece of wood to the side of your house, so if you ever need to replace the light just replace the wood and you can use the same holes that are already pounded into your house. A really helpful commentor gave me that idea with my last set.
The light is quite adjustable, but it takes a little getting used to. Where it goes up and down, you can't just pull it, you have to turn a knob first to loosen it. To rotate it, you can't just twisted around; you have to undo another pin type knob, remove the head from the mounting, and place it back in the new position. The mounting has a large number of fittings, so you can make fairly subtle adjustments. The face that comes off is quite tight, so I believe them when they say it is waterproof. The light triggers whenever someone walks within its path and behaves the same way as the currently nonfunctioning light attached to our house's electrical system.
While the light has a definite advantage of not having to hire an electrician, it's not without its problems. First of all, it takes 4D batteries which are rather expensive. I haven't had it long enough to know how fast it will go through a set, but I can easily see spending many times the price of the light over its lifespan. I can't fault the product because it's battery-powered, but it's a definite concern. I would've actually been happier with AA batteries because then I could more easily use rechargeables. Rechargeable D batteries are expensive as are the special chargers you need to accommodate them. Also, while this may be one of the brighter battery-powered lights it obviously can't be as bright as something that's powered by electricity from your house. It may give you enough light for what you need, in our case it does, but if you need something extremely bright you probably need to look elsewhere.
If you don't need a super powerful light and it's a low traffic area where you're not going to be running through a lot of batteries, then it's a very handy and easy to install solution. If you think this will replace a fully powered spotlight then you'll be disappointed. Now you're probably wondering, if the nation falls to the zombies and civilization itself collapses, how are you going to supply this thing with batteries? Let me answer that question; look out behind you it's a zombie!
Honest reviews on Mr. Beams MB383 Weatherproof Wireless Battery Powered LED Ultra
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I put my MB390 up to illuminate the corridor beside the garage. Here is the rundown:1. It went up easily. Three screws and the base is in place. No difficulty, and that's the beauty of the battery operated motion light: I can remember rewiring an outdoor fixture with my father to install a motion sensor light, and even trying to put a light up where there was no wiring. If these had been around then, we'd have been lit up like a Christmas tree when I was a kid.
2. The light amount is wonderful. It's in a dark space that is shadowed from the nearest street light, but I almost think I could read by the light of the Mr Beams. Well, if I wanted to read in 30-second increments.
3. The aiming was a little tricky. The light fixture, as you can see in the picture, is an alien-robot-head-looking box, and the lights point the same direction as the motion sensor. I was hoping to light a longer distance, but if I point the sensor where it picks up the distant edge, I am out of the focused light path when I get to the door I'm lighting up the path to. Point it close enough to light the door, and the far half of the path stays dark. Probably I'll just put up an additional light and aim one near, one far.
Since that's the biggest issue I've found--weather resistance has held up, install hardware holds up, battery life is great--then I am liking this light. I will likely get an additional MB390 to cover the other half of the pathway.

Got this as it was cheaper than having an electrician come out to fix my front porch light. Does a good job of lighting a small covered front porch (MIGHT be 10x10). We have it placed low (maybe waist height), and near the steps so the cats trigger it so we can see when they want in.While it gives off more than enough light for our needs, if you need a flood light, this is not it. The photo showing the guy ... I'm just not sure it gives off THAT much light. IT is perfect for what we need though. Do wish there was a regular on/off switch as well, esp for when my daughter is out at night and coming home after dark.
It's been rainy all week and have not had any issues, but it is on a covered front porch so it's fairly protected
