I needed a lamp for my computer desk that would not take up too much space on the desk and also would give just as much light as I need to see the screen and the keyboard (I have the computer in the bedroom, and either I or my husband use it sometimes when the other one of us sleeps). Well, I have to say that this lamp does just that. A spotty light, very pleasant design, the light is bright enough to see all I need yet not too bright to hurt my eyes. And yes, it's bright white, not soft white or warm white, I know for some it will make a difference. Also, be aware that this is the lamp that provides a spotty light only: it will NOT light your room, but will work great if you need a reading lamp on your night stand, or like me, for computer desk. When I don't use it, I turn it away and you can barely see it, because the lamp itself is tiny, just 2 inches in diameter. Also I like the touch turn-on button, it lits blue in the dark, so you can easily find it. No need to press, just touch or slide your fingure, and it's on. The bottom line, LOVING IT! Highly recommended!

This is a really good lamp. The lamp head can be brought closely over the shoulder and the beam spread is small so the rest of the room is dark. Base is heave so it does not fall over. Easy touch switch so can control from your pillow. Good lamp for the price.
