I bought 6 of these to attach to my deck. They have now gone through a winter, spring showers, hot summer, and monsoon season. The strings have loosened up VERY slightly but they are still holding the cans filled with oil perfectly.
I have had them for almost a year now and I would expect them to last for at least another 2 years before it comes to possibly have to replace them but I might be able to save the money and fix them up myself.
They are not all perfectly perpendicular to the base but to me that just adds character. They arn't so far off that it's ugly or can't stand correctly.
In the end I gave them a 4 star rating only because they are cheaply made in, of course, China but are still worth it since they are "cheap".
I would recommend these to anyone who wants a cheap easy way to spice up their patio or deck.I purchased two of these from Amazon. Both of these torches barely stood on their own...the base was warped and turned. I returned them both and got replacements. The replacements are fine. I thought the vessel would hold more fuel then it does. It holds about 6-8 oz. I'm constantly refilling them. The wick that came with these is great! It's a nice slow, even burn.
