Cheap Designer Modern Bertoia Style Wire Side Chair in White
Since I can't afford real Bertoia chairs the search was on for a good chair in the same style. These chairs deliver in every way! I searched and searched and these were the best price, plus I wanted white pads which wasn't easy. I ordered 6 of these and they arrived exactly in the time frame I was quoted. 2 boxes holding 3 chairs each. Double boxed and neatly packed. Some assembly is required, the legs need to be added to the seat. It was a little tricky as there are no instructions or markers where exactly to place the seat on the legs. there are 4 brackets that screw through the metal squares to attach the leg base. There seemed to be a spot where it naturally rested so my husband and I made the first one and used it to line all the others up. All in all it took about 40 minutes to unpack and assemble all 6 chairs. The seat pads attach with thin little strips of the imitation leather material that the pad is made from. The straps are to feed through one of the holes and velcro to the pad. None of the straps fit through any particular hole so the pad isn't super tight on there, but they don't shift. The seat pads had a short break in period where they needed to conform to the curve of the seat, and whenever someone sat in the chair the pad was "squeaky" against the metal. This only lasted a few days. The real test came on the first night. I served spaghetti for dinner and one of the kids spilled sauce on the seat pad (of course!). It wiped off ,but as spaghetti sauce does, left an orangish mark on the white leatherette. I scrubbed it with a magic eraser and it's 99% gone. only on the white thread stitching it shows a little. No biggie. The chairs were such a great price and knowing the kids would spill I already researched and found somewhere where you can buy replacement pads if that day ever comes. Over all I am really happy with these chairs! They are sturdy and complete the look I was going for at a fraction of the price!!
