We have wood all over our house, and this matches nicely. However, the chime is really quiet, and I'm thinking of getting a second one so that we can hear it better in the bedroom. We only have a 1200sqft place, so it's not like the sound has to travel that far either.

Just kidding... I didn't kill anybody with this doorbell, but I did buy it and I really like it. It's got all the components that you'd want out of a doorbell, but no pesky wiring. I can't say I'm too inclined to do electrical work, but before I bought this unit I had a slight problem with my old doorbell. There was something wrong with the button and when pressed, it stabbed people and made them bleed! Anyway, the men in my life are useless and provide no assistance in this area, so I set my mind to doing it myself, and I was able to install the new doorbell all by myself. Just a couple of screws and I was all set to go.

It has a nice tone, loud enough to be heard all over the house but not so loud it's annoying. It looks nice, it's made out of wood, and it has some weight to it so it doesn't feel cheap. I didn't run down the street with the button to check the range, but it worked just fine for my purposes, about three rooms over from the front door. All in all, I say that this is a great product. My only issue with it is the price, it is kind of on the expensive side but definitely worth the money.

Conceived as a musical instrument? Made almost entirely of birch wood its two tone chime is the familiar xylophone we are all used to from the now very distant '50s. Im reminded of chimes I heard in department stores of that era as well. Loud enough and very attractive in appearance in never looks out of place if its somewhat out of past. Not what I expected, its a pleasant reminder of the past without connecting wires. A 'striking'(pun intended)anomaly if ever there was. It cannot connect you to Facebook,Netlix or Utube, It only connects to 1952, world without end, etc.,etc.
